I bought a Louis Phillipe bedside table from Etsy, and it arrived from France in very rough shape. Many of the inside pieces (shelf, shelf supports, bottom) had fallen apart and laid at the bottom of the shipping box. It needed a lot of work! Sully Restoration was the first place I found, but it was definitely the right choice. The repair and restoration was exemplary, and I am very happy.

I inherited my grandmothers wooden rocking chair and left it in storage for many years. Throughout this time my chair unfortunately acquired some major scratches and dings. Samuel was able to bring my grandmothers chair back to life! I am so appreciative and impressed with Samuel's attention to detail. Additionally, Lydia was not only helpful and responsive but extremely kind. I would definitely work with Samuel and Lydia again!

Perfection in wood restoration of a vintage regulator clock!! You have heard of the dog eating the homework? My english bulldog chomped the bottom of my folks vintage regulator clock. One of the saddest days of my life! Until I found Lydia and Samuel of Sully Restoration in LA. They are life savers, who can do the unimaginable!

Before and after paint match like new and everything!!!

Samuel is an artist and a perfectionist. He took a very damaged, very old, French table (Louis XVI) and brought it gloriously back to life.

Our 20+ year old Paliser sectional recliner mechanism finally failed and Mike was able to quickly diagnose the issue and to provide a temporary recliner control work-around while our part was ordered and received. On Mike's second visit, he artfully got the ordered part installed and functioning perfectly. His original estimate was spot-on and we paid precisely what was quoted. Total time for all of the above was a week. Highly recommend Furniture Master.

One of the seats on my couch had started sagging because the support fabric underneath had pulled away from the frame. Mike reattached the support fabric, added extra wood supports for reinforcement, and made sure everything was secure. Honestly, I thought I was going to end up needing a new couch, so I was pretty excited when he was able to fix it. The couch feels great now and the sagging is completely gone. It's so hard to find people these days who actually show up, do quality work, and don't make the whole process a headache. Overall, I had a really great experience and would definitely recommend Mike if you're looking for furniture or couch repairs.

But he subsequently stood me up for two other jobs: no call and no return phone calls. Maybe there is an accountability problem. I want my table back that he agreed to repair. I wonder where it is? This is my second time writing and asking about it. It is just so unprofessional and that is not how he represents himself. But I am tired of waiting and being ignored. I am going to rate him this time, and I think I am being generous. This is an awful way to treat people who believe in your service.

From the moment I arrived, the experience was outstanding. They understood exactly what needed to be done and got right to work. They didn't just glue it back together -- they reinforced the structure with nails and added hidden supports underneath to make sure it could handle real weight. And to top it off, they did it fast -- I was blown away by how quickly and professionally they turned it around. The craftsmanship is excellent. The drawer feels sturdier than it ever did. And they were warm, honest, and straightforward about the repair process and cost. If you have any furniture or cabinet repair -- especially those small but frustrating jobs most big places won't even look at -- SM Furniture Repair is the real deal. After over 10 years of owning them, the fabric on my sofa bed started to fall apart, because it was never meant to be used as a daily couch, and the other sofa looked worse for wear with bad microfiber fabric and damaged cushions/edging. I reached out to Chimos in Nov '24 and Joselyn came to my home and gave me an estimate based on my choice of fabric and some recommendations to help improve the function of the couch. To my surprise, they were able to pick it up later that same day to get started. It took a little under 4 weeks and I was thrilled with the final result. It's been over a year and it hardly seems like it's been sat on, even though it's my main couch. I was so happy at the quality of the job, that I reached out to Joselyn a month later asking if she could come and give me an estimate for the 2nd sofa. This one was not just a straight reupholster, I asked if they could re-design the sofa itself, by incorporating some padding on the arms, changing the foam to be more comfortable, adding legs, and fixing some of the frame so it could look similar to the first one. Again, they were able to pick it up the same day, and even though there were more changes, it took half as long as the first one, and they delivered it promptly. Their team who picked up and dropped off was also very professional, and they were so kind about having to carry both couches up and down the stairs to my apartment, since my building doesn't have an elevator. Overall, I am so so happy with both couches; they now look like a sibling set. Reupholstering is definitely pricey, and I had to save up for it but I'm thrilled with the quality of the work and now I know these will last years more. If I ever have a need to get anything else reupholstered, I'll definitely be calling Chimo's again. ¡Gracias Joselyn y el equipo de Chimo's!

I brought two cane cesca style chairs to this place for a repair quote on January 5th. When I arrived, Susan and Fred quoted me approximately $85-90/chair, they also volunteered that they would even polish the legs where the chrome was rusting. The quoted timeline was approx. 2 weeks. Sounds great! Next step they said would be a follow up call in one week with an exact quote once their guy was back in and could look at them. No call. I followed up myself two weeks later, and was told it would be an additional 2 weeks. No quote yet. Ok, no problem, I said. They must be busy. 6 weeks later, still no call. I followed up again on 2/13 and was finally given a quote - $400 - over double the original quoted price. I pointed this out to Susan on the phone and her verbatim response was "I'm sorry numbers are confusing." I swear to god lol. They came down to $300 all-in after seeing I was clearly unhappy with the price gouging, but that is still $100 over their original quote! When I went to pick up the chairs - first, the legs were not polished as Susan and Fred originally promised. Their demeanor, including Everado, was instantly hostile as they snickered at me despite the fact that I was nothing but polite. I wanted to say "What is going on here? How old are you and what makes you think it's ok to treat someone, let alone a customer like this?" I'm the youngest person of the three of them by about 30 years probably and they were acting like poorly behaved children. Maybe they felt they could get away with treating me like this because of my age? A final slap in the face, when I went to pay, I asked if they took credit card, to which they said "yes, but it will charge us a fee." Ok, I said, fine with me. Everado then insisted that I pay via Zelle or cash, despite them admitting to having the capability to take credit card. The message essentially being "yes, we take credit card, but not for you". If there's another place that does this in LA, I'd say go there. The work they do is fine, even good, but save yourself the pain of having to deal with these grown up children.
