Great place! I had to have an alternator replaced on my 2008 Highlander, they did the repair that day and on time. Unfortunately after the repair was made there was a noise when the AC was on. I went to the repair shop the next morning without an appointment and told Mark about the noise. Mark listened to the noise and immediately had a mechanic take my car back to be checked. The mechanic determined a plastic cover was loose from the previous day's repair and tightened the part. The mechanic apologized for this being loose and for me having to come back to get it fixed. WOW! You don't see that too often. The noise is gone. I highly recommend Gary's Point S and will use them for all my future mechanical need. read more

As a single female, I've had past experiences within the auto realm world that have left me with plenty of reservation. I needed a place with a solid and honorable reputation to take my xterra for possible repairs for a few different issues. I called ahead and spoke with Mike to confirm the issues could all be addressed there before taking it in. He told me to bring it in when I had time, no appointment necessary. When I arrived, I explained the potential issues (a possibly leaking tire, new brakes, and a litany of other minor concerns), I was able to address both the tire concerns as well as mechanical concerns with both managers. They each provided their valuable, knowledgeable, and obviously experienced input regarding each issue. I was provided with a comprehensive diagnostic of all matters I addressed, and given a detailed written estimate. They didn't talk down to me, or treat me with any type of condescension as I was expecting and have experienced in the past. They also didn't try and sell me a new set of tires for a patch job, which I was also expecting. I was treated exceptionally well, and with obvious integrity. Outside the building there is a sign that says "Thank you Olympia for over 40 years of service". The sign is there for a reason: They've earned it. The business was handed down from father to son, and the owner was on site as well. I had the opportunity to meet and speak with each of the department heads as well as the owner, and found all three to be remarkably kind, knowledgeable, and helpful men. They completely alleviated any concerns or misgivings I had about being a single female needing car repairs in a "man's world". I left feeling safe about my vehicle and the condition it was in, even knowing how much work would need to be done. The guys were able to present me not only with a detailed and itemized estimate of all repairs, but they were able to do so in a manner of priority for which would need more immediate repairs versus the minor ones that could wait. There was no attempt to over-sell, and no vague commentary about some serious part that was facing imminent danger and would need to be addressed or else. I went to Gary's fully skeptical and prepared to have to claw my way out without buying stuff I didn't need repaired. What I found was Mark, the tire manager, telling me how there was "enough honest work out there that none of those tactics would ever happen here." I found that to be true. As a single female without a large support network, finding help with certain things such as car repairs is invaluable. I left there feeling secure with my vehicle, and fully aware of exactly what needed to be done about the repairs. They spent time explaining the problems, the options, the timelines, and the prices. Everything was explained (in layman's terms) so that even a girl without much car knowledge could understand it. Not only will I be taking my Xterra back for all the repairs, I can't imagine ever needing to take it to another place. They say when you find a good fit for anything, such as your wedding dress, you'll "just know". I'd be willing to wager that if anyone were to take their vehicle there, after just speaking with Mike and Mark, they will feel comfortable, well-informed, and secure in their decision to get their work done through them. This place is awesome! Super friendly, local, and family run. It was super casual which made it feel more welcoming and comfortable. Got great service for better prices than I've seen. I got a maintenance check + synthetic oil change for under $70 and when recommending preventative maintenance they were not pushy at all. They talk with you about your car, not to you, and it's a conversation, unlike most places which will just tell you what could be fixed and convince you to get all of it done. I highly recommend Gary's based upon my experience. I had wobble in my car that no one could figure out including the previous three mechanic shops. One shop even charge me almost $100 and that shops guess didn't fix the problem. I was so discouraged because I couldn't drive my car if I didn't know if there was a safety issue. This is a great place to take your car for check-ups. The staff is friendly and honest. I started going here because they were open on the weekends. They were always able to get me in at a convenient time (usually the day of that I called). They always remembered who I was and what car I drove and that I got my oil changed every 3,000 miles instead of 5,000 miles. They always checked my tires and everything too and the price was good, being under $50 for a standard oil change. I was always only waiting for maybe a half an hour max. If I still lived in Lacey I would have continued to keep coming here. read more

Gary went above and beyond when we moved to AZ and got a flat tire that needed to be replaced. He personally ordered the replacement tire and sent it to the shop here in AZ because they were not able to get it done for several reasons. He also called afterwards to make sure it all worked out due to the difficulty we were having here in AZ. Definitely 5 stars! I called them on a whim while visiting a friend in Shelton. They gave me straight answers to my questions. Mark was the gentleman who helped me and let me know that, (as 3 others companies had previously) that indeed my vehicle was very much at risk of breaking down other very expensive parts of my engine if the tires were mismatched (brand, tread depth, etc.). Still; however, they were less expensive than anyone on the Eastside I had priced out. So I went in and after Mark looked at my tires he asked me to wait just a minute, he went to the back and returned telling me that he had the exact brand of tire with the same tread depth for $50! I was amazed! He could have very well sold me a whole set of 4 tires, but he went out of his way to help me with MY needs. Mark also let me know that the tires I currently have on my vehicle would last me another 10K miles before needing replaced. Thank you Mark for your expertise, honesty and great customer service! The way business should be conducted! I recently had a flat tire and after a terrible experience with Courtesy Auto/GoodYear Tire, I went to Gary's Tire to see if they could fix it. Courtesy had told me it would be an hour and a half to fix the tire and when I came back told me they were closing and could not fix it afterall. Quinton then told me I could come back the next day and he could "try" to fit me in. What was he expectiing me to do, drive around all day with a flat and continue to keep putting air in it? When I arrived at Gary's and asked if they could fix it, the guy working said, "Sure." By the time I nosed my truck in he had already found a screw in my tire. He then plugged it up, checked the air, and put air in it. This literally took a total of four minutes. I drive a one-ton Dodge dually and will be needing four new tires this summer. Gary's definitely gained a customer and made $1000, as I will be heading there when I need them replaced. read more

AMAZING. My co worker referred me to this place and I'm so greatful she did! From the moment I called and went in the customer service was so great. I had difficulties getting a rental when my car suddenly broke down, they offered to drive me to where I needed a ride and when I declined they got on the phone and arranged transportation with the car rental company. They thoroughly diagnosed my car and broke it all down to what was priority and what wasn't. Mike was so great he spent a good amount of time on the phone explaining everything to my husband and myself. They fixed my car quickly at the last minute because they knew I was paying for a rental. We live in Tacoma and will be going to them for all car problems from now on.
