It was near emergency status, because if it gave way, and increased flow, it would have flooded part of my home and my garage. With this information in mind, I took to Yelp to get information and bids from licensed plumbers in my area, that could assist me ASAP. I was very clear in my request and stated that I would most likely need immediate service, even though it was a late Friday afternoon and upcoming weekend. I received notification immediately from Clear and Present Plumbing, and began messaging back in forth with David, the owner. He was very professional and thoughtful in his communication, and patient with my barrage of questions. I did receive other communication from some other local, and nationally recognized companies, while speaking with David, but their responses felt generic and not as genuine. I mentioned to David that several of my neighbors had used his services before, and mentioned the company on our Facebook neighborhood page, so I felt very comfortable doing business with them based off of that. We agreed on the time it would be done, and the set cost of the services. The pricing was extremely competitive, especially since I was receiving "after hours" service. David offered me several payment and financing options, as well, which was refreshing. I was advised that his licensed plumber Travis, would be reaching out to me at a specific time frame, on Saturday. Travis contacted me ahead of schedule and advised me he was on the way to complete my project. Travis arrived with a clean work vehicle, uniform, and positive attitude. He completed the work quickly, with competency and respect for my property. He tested that everything was working properly, and cleaned up after himself. I would not hesitate to recommend this company, for any of your plumbing needs.

Then he looked into our temperature screen that wasn't showing temperature we set it to be and basically said: "it's fine". We were in shock. If that's what it takes to be HVAC master in this company - maybe we should all apply. So far, it's $99 for standard dispatch fee. And $208 for "minor troubleshooting or diagnostic on specific part of the system" as states on the receipt. - so I guess looking at the screen and toward direction of the filter cost us $208! We were absolutely confused how we are paying for diagnostic and person didn't even go outside to look at our outside unit. Asked him to do that - got hit with $612 more dollars. So $919.08 and our issues wasn't even fixed, it was "diagnosed". After that we were provided with option change the part ("the cheapest option" for $3110.92, when apparently this part costs $400 everywhere else. Or change outside unit completely to some old-technology unit for 7869.56 just because it's not "new". In comparison, we could've change a whole AC system for cheaper and better units.

They took the time to properly diagnose a difficult water leak underneath the slab and explained what they found and what needed to be done. In addition they helped with the installation of a Moen Flo Smart Water Shutoff in my home. It was built in 2007 using Kitec plastic piping, which has a history of rupturing at connections. They knew about this issue had had a stock of non-corrosive connectors that worked with the existing Kitec pipes. They did a great job, showed up when they said they would, and did a great job of explaining the whole process. In this new world where private equity companies are buying up local plumbing/AC/electrical services companies and squeezing us with higher prices and low quality service by inexperienced (cheap) workers, it's nice to know and use small, family-owned businesses like Flint Plumbing.
