Janis made my dream wedding a reality! Having grown up in Rohnert Park, I had passed by the Crane Melon Barn a million times, but never really knew what went on there. As my groom and I looked for a venue for our wedding, we took a tour with Janis and fell in love with the Crane Melon Barn (but moreso with Janis). She was able to walk us through everything we needed (and helped us weed out some things that weren't necessary). She let us be as creative as we wanted and guided us on how we could do them. Janis was amazing at working with our outside vendors, and I'm certain both sides of our family were ready to adopt her by the time our reception ended. Wedding planning can be incredibly stressful, but with Janis' help I never once felt overwhelmed. All I can say is that Linda saved the day and was a critical factor in making my son's wedding flow smoothly and turn out beautifully and wonderful. She is a consummate professional and I could tell she knew the "parentals" trying to put on a backyard wedding for +120 were in wayyyy over their heads. So reassuring...and doing much more than she signed on for. She noticed things and just stepped right in to faciliate. Janis is completely amazing! She made our wedding so special, I don't know what we would have done without her! She had everything in her grasp - from all the complexities of coordinating all of our hires (photographer, caterer, rentals AND venue), to the simple things of putting things in the most perfect places possible. Our wedding was in Monte Rio, and she drove from her home-base without any additional fees. Janis is a steal. She spends a lot of time before the wedding consulting, and making things work. She calls the caterer, the rental people, knew the photographer and coordinate with her. She easily put in 3 full days of work before the wedding even happened. She ALSO did the cleanup of the venue! Best of all, her low fee for what she does comes with ALL OF HER RENTALS! She's got TONS of stuff that's up for grabs to borrow for the wedding, and she even transports it there and back! She has a couple of employees that she decided to use to help her out, and they were very polite and efficient as well. We would have paid MORE than what she charged for the services she gave us, and still felt it was fair. Hiring Janis was the absolute best decision of our wedding. read more

Like many brides, I thought, wedding coordinator? I can do it all myself. WRONG. I'm pretty organized, I love Excel spreadsheets and I even have a spreadsheet to alphabetize my DVD collection. However, I had never gotten married before and I did not know what I didn't know. Janis from Garrigus Events is a pro; she has seen every scenario/issue and knows how to throw an event and make it look absolutely seamless. More importantly, she has a heart of gold and is genuinely excited to help plan the most perfect day for you. It's kind of like having an extra aunt around who is not part of the wedding craziness and has a lot of extra time to help you with things:) Actually, she's better than an aunt because she's been through a gazillion weddings and can time everything down to the millisecond! She has a lot of great vendor contacts in Sonoma County too, which is really important because it's so hard to weed through everything online. Since we were trying to save money, my husband and I had a DIY wedding. There were a lot of moving parts the day of, and because I was busy getting my hair and makeup done, and getting pre-ceremony photographs (not to mention getting lost with no GPS/cell coverage for an hour after my hair appointment), there was no way I could have been the point person for all the various vendors and people involved. There were last-minute changes I was not anticipating, but all I had to do was tell Janis and she handled everything with elegance and finesse. She has an eye for detail and she turned an old dusty barn into the coolest, rustic-chic reception with a soft, romantic feel. Many of our guests remarked that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. She also saved us a ton of money on rentals, because she has so much stuff that she happily lends out: tables, chairs, chair ribbons, table linens, napkins, candles, decorations, wedding archway...we looked at other venues and saw how much they were charging to rent all that and it would have really hurt our bottom line. I love Janis! I read a past review that Janis is like a fairy godmother and I can't agree more! I had my wedding on October 17, 2015 at Crane Melon Barn and I wish the night never ended! I did the worst thing a bride could do, I was late! I had dress drama at home and it delayed me getting to the site. Janis kept everything together for me. Even though I arrived late Janis made sure I had pre-wedding photos done in the barn. As I walked down the 2-minute long path I was able to see the beautiful site that Janis had created. She didn't miss a single detail. I made so many signs in advance, had a photo stop, "jenga" guest book, bubbles, programs even a dog station and she decorated everything beautifully! I started to cry as I made my walk down the aisle; Janis made my vision a reality! this is is my dreams are all coming true! I want everyone to know how much Janis did for me. I sent so many emails and changes, had more than one site inspection, brought the moms, changed things last minute and I could not have held it together if it weren't from Janis. If you ever need that loving support for a special event like a wedding, birthdays, special occasions, concerts, exhibitions, fairs, social gatherings, charity dinners, and publicity related product launches, she is the one to go to. She is everything and more. For example at our wedding she oversaw the facility with great detail. In addition, she assisted with the planning, facilitation; she also supported our special day utilizing her highly organized and detail-oriented skills. Additionally, she is strong in her oral communication which is important. She is a team player and possesses a servant attitude that is critical to the success of any event (just like our wedding!). About a year ago, my wife (fiancée at the time) and I were looking for a coordinator who we felt we could hang out with and laugh together and at the same time be on point with certain items. Janis was the perfect fit for us. She organized the complete event from scratch and planned the whole event with us. She fixed upon a budget with us so that we didn't overspend on items that were in questions. She implemented the budget and makes sure the costs do not overshoot it. On our wedding day she delegated duties to respective individuals according to their capabilities and coordinated with all the parties involved in our wedding. She also communicated with our DJ, caterer, photographer and entertainers so that everyone was included for our joyous occasion. She checked the inventory before the event and interviewed and hired the right people. In addition Janis also made sure everything was in order before our wedding by cross checking everything from the place setting to flower arrangements to tent and light fixtures. She ensured that our wedding props were up in the right time and on our wedding day she made the correct appointments of delegates and made the payments to them well on or before the event. She also arranged for the stay of the delegates and makes all arrangements for them to be at the event on time. As a person, Janis is whole heartedly sweet and kind and a go getter! She provides exemplary customer service and ensures her clients are filled to meet their expectations. She met our expectations by far! She is pleasant, professional, friendly and courteous and sensitive to other's needs. I can tell she has a deep personal drive to help other succeed into fruition! She has the ability to think, plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously (a great multi-tasker). From a wedding perspective she is also a great mediator for the go between and keeps everyone calm at bay. We love Janis because she can adapt to any situation, is focused, she gets things gone, has great problem solving skills and has respect for self and others! We truly couldn't do this without her.
