Our entire HVAC system needed to be replaced and we were having a hard time finding a reliable,…read morehonest, reasonably-priced company to come out and fix it. We saw the billboard on 316 for Snellville Heating and Air and decided to give it a go. Joe came by about thirty minutes after the initial phone call, and you could tell right away this was a man who knew what he was doing. He checked everything out and then, the first company to do so, sat down with us to go over everything in detail. He quoted us the best price we'd received and didn't once try to upsell us. He showed us all the certifications that their workers have which put our mind at ease. A week later (and only that long because we weren't home the other days) we had an entirely new HVAC system installed by two hardworking guys. I will say the monthly financing price we got was not ideal for us. I'm not naive, but the whole reason we called in the first place was the monthly financing offer of $50 on the billboard. So that was a bit disappointing, but the overall cost was the lowest quote we'd received so we went with it. Plus, we have ten year warranty on the new system, and a year's servicing. Not to mention the security of knowing we have an honest company working this for us. We really appreciated the service we received after almost two months of a broken HVAC system and companies trying to scam us. I recommend Snellville Heating and Air to anyone looking.

This company was recently bought by Air Georgia. We have two separate systems, one which provides…read moreair conditioning/heat in the main area of the house which is a gas furnace/air conditioner and a heat pump which provides air conditioning/heat to the top floor and a room adjacent to the house. One week in August, the two rooms controlled by the heat pump, began to read in the high 80's. We notified Snellville Heating, Air & Plumbing as we had a maintenance contract with them. They responded promptly and told us something may have been jarred in the air handler zone control board. They only charged us the service fee of $79.95. When they were here the rooms became cooler, however, within hours the rooms returned to temperatures in the mid-eighties and we had to have them back that same day. They then told us refrigerant was needed and they added 1 1/2 pounds of refrigerant for a cost of $150. The next day the temperature in these two rooms again returned to the mid-eighties. Snellville Heating, Air and Plumbing returned that day and said they replaced an electric shut-off switch in the condenser and there was no charge. We thought the problem was fixed but the temperature rose to the mid-eighties the next day. Snellville Heating, Air and Plumbing returned that same day and then said the Condenser Computer Board was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced at a cost of $495. The part was unavailable until the next day at which time they replaced the Board. However, within 2 days, the temperatures again rose to the mid-eighties. A fifth visit was made and this technician told us the problem was a leaky heat pump in the condenser coil and said this needed to be replaced with just a part or a new system was recommended since our current system was ten years old. They quoted at a cost of over $13,000 for a new system. At this time they gave us complimentary refrigerant to keep the room cool while we made a final decision to replace the part or the whole system. We lost all confidence in Snellville's competence in diagnosing our HVAC issues as it took 5 TECHNICIANS coming out multiple days in a row before the correct assessment of the problem was made. We asked management for a cancellation and reimbursement for our second maintenance visit, which the did. However, they refused to reimburse us for the $495 fee for the Condenser Computer Board stating we approved the work to be done. REALLY!!! My response was that as 70+ year olds we TRUSTED the technician that was the issue but in reality we had a LEAK, only identified on the 5TH VISIT and we were due a reimbursement which they REPEATEDLY DENIED. We are not HVAC knowledgeable but in retrospect, shouldn't the need for refrigerant added on the second visit be a "sign" there might have been a leak? They said they were offering a 10% discount on a new system and an upgrade to a higher grade system at no additional charge and that was their compensation. My response was we had lost ALL CONFIDENCE with them and would NOT be using them for a new system. If it took 5 VISITS BEFORE the proper diagnosis was made how could we TRUST them to properly install a new system and maintain it. Additionally, that $495 Condenser Board was of no use to us since we bought a new system from another HVAC company who did CONFIRM on their initial visit there was a leak. This has been a most regrettable situation which has caused us much angst as senior citizens. As a side note, we were told the owner was aware of our dilemma but he never personally called us which we expected given our level of concern.

The fumes from use over the years were getting pretty bad and replacing the thermocouple no longer made it work. I contacted Shane Creech with Paramount Plumbing HVAC. I was able to send photos of the Whirlpool to Shane and gave him dimensions. Shane was able to quote a price within minutes. When I asked how long it would be before he could do the work, he surprised me when he said the very next day at 8:30 am. Shane was on time, professional, had the old hot water heater removed, and had installed a new Builders Supply Rheem Professional Classic 50 gallon (not the cheap residential Home Depot model) within 2 hours of arriving. After installation, he reviewed the hot water heater features and operation in detail. The Rheem Professional Classic has upgraded manufacturing and parts with a brass drain plug, metal control valve, anode upgrade, and is so very quiet. It came with a 6 year warranty. Shane is a Master Plumber and he made a very tight, difficult removal and installation look easy. Call him today. You will not be disappointed.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but I had to tell everyone about the worst plumbing experience ever had…read morewith...Sloggy Plumbing. I had two small leaks under two different sinks. One was due to an icemaker connection. One was due to a fitting under another sink to the cold water. The part to repair the leak under the sink to the cold water, at Home Depot is $12. To repair the line that went to the ice machine, required the pipe being cut and fitted with a pec pipe clamp with a new cold water connection. Both parts under $35. To do this, you needed to turn the water off at the main. Literally taking under five minutes to turn the water off and let the water drain in the sinks so that there was no water to leak while the repair was being done. I had to make a doctors appointment, and had asked for a 30 min heads up in order to be able to figure something out. He showed up quickly and gave no warning as I was walking out the door for the appointment ( my wife was off and would help me). If you know how hard it is to make an appt with a doctor, you know the frustration. I had to reschedule and miss my appointment as my wife would have been bulldozed by the BS. This appt was the reason I was off. The person who showed up at my door, said that no one ever told him to make that phone call. He was friendly and I was friendly. I noticed his boots were dirty with dried mud. I did not ask him to remove them. He should've worn booties, which most repairman carry with them when they enter a home. It's just common courtesy. I was told it would cost $85 for them to make the repair call, and the $85 would be applied to the repair cost. The plumber that showed up gave me a quote of $250. It was excessive, but I was stuck.. and that's the position we were in. Either you pay $85 for nothing or you pay $250. It's almost like ransom. When I asked him if there was any movement in the price, to a reasonable $200, he said no. He didn't even want to make the call. I had to agree to it because it was a waste of time and I needed to get to my appt. When he wrote up the agreement, it was $360 now. I said how could that be $360? We were just talking about $200, and we had already agreed to $250? When I looked at the work order, he had incorporated the $85 service fee on top of the 250, and the charges for the parts, which were exaggerated to bring the total to $360. When I caught the "error", I said I thought the $85 was supposed to be added towards the price of the repair.. if I did the repair? Then he played dumb, well let me call in and find out. And they brought it back to $250 all inclusive. Again, his response was.. I didn't know, no one told me. That's the second time he said that to me in the same conversation. How could you not know that there is an $85 fee that goes towards the repair when that's your job to know that? I never once raised my voice to that man, and I specifically said to him ...I don't blame him for the crazy pricing. Settled, I signed the agreement for the work at $250. And THAT was ridiculous. He had to go to the store to buy the parts at Home Depot. Which I find quite hard to believe that as a plumber you don't have basic things inside of your truck. I WAITED 2.5 HOURS FOR HIM TO RETURN. I had an appt that I had to get to ...and I would now miss it because of their childish game of NOT COMING BACK while having me waiting 2.5 hours. NOT EVEN A PHONE CALL!! I called the "company" several times. No one picked up the phone purposely, as it's a cell phone business. I finally sent a text to the owner that I was leaving negative feedback. His response was, they decided not to do the repair, because of the way I treated the repairman. Imagine...a $110 mistake on top of an already outrageous quote, Then GHOSTING the client after being caught ripping them off... "accidentally". Why was I being punished for their "error"? They were caught trying to cheat me and were mad they got caught! It seems that ripping people off has become the norm for lots of trades. There's always a scam it seems. I WOULD NEVER recommend Sloggy Plumbing to anyone. I did not embellish anything. I related EXACTLY what happened to me. Can you imagine a business being so unprofessional as to just disappear in the middle of a job that they signed onto? They left the cabinet doors open, lights on, and they left a person waiting 2 1/2 hours!! If you use Sloggy Plumbing ...you are taking a gamble. They're a joke!
