We also spotted a sign saying they had garlic ice cream, which we've tried elsewhere before, but honestly, Savvy's was so much better! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Savvy herself, who was incredibly kind and such a sweetheart. We asked her for recommendations on things to do around Gilroy, and she happily gave us so many places and activities to check out. Such a pleasant and memorable little stop after our camping trip. There is a fruit stand on steroids carrying local fresh produce, jelly jams, snacks, dried fruit, etc. Sweet shop is filled with chocolates, candy, popcorn, and ice cream and the place to buy the tickets to ride the little choo choo train and merry go round. Now let's talk about the wine & deli shop. The shop is filled with Casa de Fruta farm made jellies, jams, snacks, and wines; along with kitchen gift items. In the back of the shop is the sandwich counter. Fresh made to order sandwiches. Pricing average $15. And the wine... Various wines of red, white, fruit and sparkling. The display of fruit wines perked my interest and stopped me in my tracks. Mango, pomegranate, blackberry and raspberry wines?! Say what? I went to the wine counter to inquire about the tastings.
