Went here for lunch on a sat with my sister. I got 3 enchaladas with red and green sauce and my sister got steak fajitas. Both plates were fantastic! Not a large menu but no big deal. Nice place... a clean restaurant and a very friendly staff. But the food was just OK. Chips and salsa used a bottled ranch/mayo rather than a homemade salsa. We ordered several of their $1 tacos. The steak was not what you'd expect for Carne asada. Instead, it was thin a thin chopped steak. The chicken was much better than the beef, with nice flavor. Also ordered yellow rice, but it had little flavor. For drinks, we had a Jaritto's fruit punch and a fresh papaya juice ... but the papaya juice was watered down. Just so-so. I'm a fairly regular customer and I'm always pleased with this place. I guess that's why I'm a regular customer. I usually get the burrito and an order of guac. Both are excellent. The service is friendly and fast. Good price, too. FYI: If you order a water, they'll give you a bottled water and charge you a buck. No credit cards under $10. read more

Came here by recommendation of reviews! What a mistake! Food was cool NOT hot. Asked for no jalapeño peppers and got them anyway. Lettuce was wilted and chicken tasted sour! Floor was dirty and kitchen should have been blocked off. Will never visit again. read more

Delicious, authentic, and really inexpensive Mexican food! Some of the best Mexican in Scranton. The only place that even compares is Italios in South Side. What a great find. The reviews were right, this is not fancy. It's a classic Mexican style diner. But the food was great. Based on reviews we ordered the guacamole and it was great. The other dishes were equally good and very reasonably priced. I had the mole pollo and though it was great. A dark thick flavorful soft on very tender chicken. It was different than other moles where there is one piece of chicken in a pool of sauce. Here I had a breast and wing covered in sauce. My wife had great enchiladas and my daughter the shrimp soup. The juices were large 16 oz and freshly puréed we had mango and passion fruit and loved both. One poor woman ran the place, cooked served and cleaned. read more

This is the really mexican cuisine, A friend of my told me about it I went there kind of expecting to get dissapointed after the fiasco in Chicanos, but WOW I got a really surprised to see that the Chef that used to make that yummi food at chicanos is working there!!! I have the delicious guacamole, amazing tacos humm the salsas are made fresh and is a BYOB and BYOT (bring your own tequila and they do the margaritas brilliant Idea!!!!) well I really really recomend this place, beside that is tastefully decorated with native ornaments, brilliant and happy colors and great attention. I use to serve at the Restaurant and let me tell you.. The cook is a terrible person in general. Extremely racist, and very rude. I once had to talk to an African American for about 10 minutes trying to convince them to stay because she gave her such a terrible tone it was disgusting. Talking about disgusting, the hygiene isn't that great in there especially in the back room. I know from experience, but other than what I have said. The tacos were good. read more

I was really excited about this place because all of the reviews were 5 star. I thought it was meh. I'm a HUGE fan of Italo's in Scranton and I have to say Italo's is so much better. Husband got the tamales though and loved them. I asked for red sauce for them but they came with some type of white sauce instead. Not sure if she just forgot the red sauce or if that is what tamales are served with...THe chicken flautas weren't bad. I ordered spicy pork enchiladas with green sauce. Everything just tasted rather bland and there wasn't much sauce on the enchiladas. I like a little queso fresco and sour cream drizzled on the enchiladas but these were pretty much dry. I may give it another try and maybe order something different next time, like the stuffed peppers or the empanadas. read more
