I purchased a Kenmore vacuum and the beater bar quit working. I contacted Gardner, INC and purchased a new lower part that cost $80 (was out of warranty). I received the part and it still didn't work so I contacted Gardner for a return and it took over 3 weeks to get a return authorization. I sent the part back and it took Gardner over 6 weeks to issue a refund. I spent $80 on the part and $25 on the return. I had $105 invested and just received my refund of $54.78. They screwed me out of over $50.00. read more

Wanting an OEM part for my Homelite power washer I logged on to what I believed was the Homelite's webpage (homelite.com), as it prominently displayed the HOMELITE logo. I located the the pressure hose (reasonable price for OEM); however, the shipping cost was not shown, indicating that it would be calculated as part of the order. Being cautious I called the phone number provided on the webpage (800-242-4672) to obtain a shipping cost. The individual I spoke with gave me the cost of shipping (about $11.00). When I inquired as to whether or not it was an OEM part, she eluded that they were an authorized Homelite distributor, the part was an OEM part, and that the main office only handled warranty repair calls. Feeling that I was dealing directly with Homelite I went ahead and placed the order online feeling that in doing so I would get a written confirmation of the transaction. To my dismay once the order was placed, the only thing the webpage provided was a thank you message for placing the order. NO confirmation number, NO cost of shipping, and NO receipt for the purchase!!! Feeling that something was amiss, I clicked to the customer service tab on the webpage to determine how to cancel my order. To my dismay what I saw under frequently asked questions was "What brands does Gardner Inc carry parts for?". I looked up Gardner Inc on the web, got their phone number (888-427-3637), and immediately called to cancel my order. After about a 10 minute wait I spoke with Steve who confirmed the order had been placed but that he COULD NOT CANCEL THE ORDER as it was already in their system. Yes, I am not joking, they would NOT cancel an order 10 minutes after it was placed! As this company is anything but transparent, my suggestion to everyone is purchase Homelite replacement products from Amazon or a local business as at least you can cancel or return the item. One final note, it should also be pointed out that they have a one star on the BBB web page and are NOT an accredited business with them. I am not sure how this is all going to play out but one thing is for certain I wanted to provide a review of how deceitful this company is in deceiving people to believe they are actually Homelite. read more

I would like to leave a zero review. This was the worst company I have worked with in a long time. It took them two weeks to ship one part and it was the wrong part. They took no responsibility for the error and expect me to ship this back to them. I asked to speak to a supervisor more than once and was told they were in meetings and they would get back to me. No one ever did. So, now we are almost a month into this order and so far I have not heard back from them regarding my part, the return or the refund. I'd give minus 5 stars if I could. After sending a $300 item to my house 2 yrs ago (I'd never heard of Gardner then) and I had to go to my bank to reverse it because Gardner wouldn't, then a charge of $27.37 came to my card a few days ago (almost exactly 2 yrs later) and then they did a reversal of $25, pocketing the 2 dollars. I reported it as FRAUD and when the Chase Bank goes thru my history they'll find the Gardner Fraud 2 yrs ago and know it's actually FRAUD. Anyone that does business with this company is completely crazy and I making my mission life to put this company out of business because they're obvoiusly frauds and they make any excuse to rob you. read more

I placed an order for a part for my Ryobi string trimmer. I was not given an order number, part cost or shipping costs until days later. I then cancelled the order via email because no one answered calls to any of the numbers I called. I then received a response to my email telling me it was too late to cancel, that the part was already shipped. I was charged $12.18 (not sure if that was the part cost plus shipping costs) even after I cancelled the order. The wrong part was sent and I would like a refund of the $12.18 I was charged, but I hold little hope that it will happen. It is a shame Ryobi Tools uses this company for ordering parts. read more

Ordered a composer. The first time I called customer service after not receiving a confirmation ​email. The rep. said the site wasn't working properly and they couldn't send out those emails. Now the charge has been posted, and I'm trying to call to see if it has shipped. I was on hold for half an hour yesterday, and no one picked up. So far today I'm at 12 minutes and I'm not feeling too positive that anyone will pick up. Terrible service! Update: 32 minutes now, and I'm giving up. Probably one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time. I ordered parts from one of my favorite companies, TSC. And this company is I guess affiliated with them when doing online ordering. It's been a week and I still haven't received my parts and all the information I was given for my order is false, doesn't exist. My grass is so over grown, I personally would if ordered from Amazon if I knew this was the case.... Gonna cancel my order and get my money back. I ordered a $20 blade for my grass shears. The woman at Gardner, Inc. matched the details and told me they had the size I needed for my Ryobi brand. The blade did not fit and was larger than what I had. I have been calling since May 2024 to get a return label so that I can send it back. Every time I get a different person and every time they say it will be sent to my email. I have yet to receive anything and it is Sept. 25. I was also told that I would have to pay postage and a 20% restocking fee. That is the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time and no one there seems to care! I don't even want to give them one star. Their customer service was incredibly rude and not helpful. For a return on a $25 item, they wanted me to pay $50 for shipping it back and a restocking fee of 20%. When I asked for this to be waived, the manager said she was, "as high up as it goes and there's no more negotiating possible", and literally hung up on me because I asked her to send a shipping label and waive the fee. read more

I ordered a part for my trimmer. I gave the identification number that I was instructed to look up. The phone assistant confirmed the part in stock and requested payment. I was unsure the part was correct and wanted to verify but she simply assured me it is the right one. When asking again, she stated she could email me a picture to confirm. I waited about 5-6 minutes but never received the email (nor did I ever). I went ahead and bought the part. Of course, it was not even close to the correct one. I was never emailed a receipt nor shipped one. It took some work to figure out where I purchased the item. I was out of town for 3 weeks and when I attempted to return it at 5 weeks after ordering, I was told there are no returns after 4 weeks and there was nothing they could do. My experience was very good, very positive. In late October I contacted them looking for a "Spool Cap" for my lawn trimmer by Ryobi. I talked to a woman employee, named "Natalie" who was helpful, friendly and humorous to talk to. I asked if I could send a check, she said sure , but it might make it a little slower to get my order. It did, I guess, as it took one month to get it, from their place in Ohio, to my place in Nebraska. It arrived today, when I opened the box and looked at it, I was certain that it was going to be too big. I was wrong, it fits perfectly. What I am going to do now is save the plastic bag that the part came in, inside the shipping box. The bag has all the information about the part number, and SKU, I guess, but pertinent information about the parts identity for it if and when I need to order one again. Also, the new replacement cap is much better quality than the one that came on it new from the factory. The part was $6.00, and shipping was $6.02, so very reasonable for a tool that I use a lot. Overall, a very good transaction from a friendly, dependable company. read more

I ordered a cordless drill charger in October. It arrived in late January. No notification that it was on backorder or when it might be expected. I tried to return it and they insisted on a 20% restocking fee, no chance of any change there. After exchanging a few emails it became clear that this company doesn't care about the people who could become customers. In contrast, I bought something via Amazon (but actually from one of their resellers) around the same timeframe. It showed as In Transit for a month before I called Amazon and the first thing I was asked is if I wanted another one shipped or to be refunded. 30 seconds later I was off the phone and all was right. read more

I ordered a specific part # contained in my manual for Homelite chainsaw, It arrived but does not fit on the shaft (no matter how hard I tried to make it fit!!). No use returning a .45 cent part (they have a convoluted return system) and I already paid $6.00 to have two .45 cent parts sent. There is another Gardner, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL and I am going to try them. read more

I purchased a pump for a power washer from them through a website that was named on the parts description for my Husky Pressure Washer. The pump was supposed to be a replacement for the pump since the pump that came with the washer was discontinued. When I received it, I was not able to install it. The holes for bolts did not match up to the frame of the washer and motor. I contacted Gardner via email for instructions on how to return it. They responded by saying that since I attempted to install it, I could not return it and instructed me to take the part and my pressure washer to one of 3 service centers, all over 30 miles away to have it installed. I responded back that I had done nothing but see if the holes matched up and they should take the item back and refund my money. Again they responded that I need to take it to one of the service centers. So, on a part I should have been able to install myself, I need to spend additional money on gas (over $4.00 a gallon) and pay to have it installed. TERRIBLE customer service. read more
