Amazing service! When they first opened, we bought a few seeds. Then, we asked about shade plants ... and how to reseed our law in the spring. Then Travis helped us remove some trees from our yard. He came out, saw what we wanted to do, and then gave us referral to an excellent tree service. That winter, Gabe delivered our Christmas tree. And set it up, and that happened for many years until, due to allergies, we needed to go artificial. And we bought chickens. Not too long ago, we were out of town and our chicken sitter ran out of feed. One call and they delivered the feed to our house. At some point in there, they hired Lisa, the amazing-do-it-all-for-you-with-a-smile person who runs the place when Travis and Gabe aren't around. Wow. What a team! This is a gem! prices might be a little higher because they have a higher quality. If you are used to purchasing plants and supplies at big box stores you will be amazed at the quality and this will pay off in years and years to come. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I just had a really good experience here. I know absolutely nothing about plants other than the fact that in my care they die. Except for the one potted plant I had in college that I actually got to thrive but then my cat ate it. And that sums up my gardening abilities. However I recently bought a home and have two empty planter patches underneath my front windows that right now are growing weeds like there's no tomorrow. So in need of something more aesthetically pleasing that won't leave my neighbors feeling like they need to pity-weed my property (yes that has actually happened once) I head off to Gardensphere. Upon arrival I was promptly greeted, offered assistance, and then asked relevant questions about the space I want to plant in, how much sun it gets, what I'm looking for, etc. I was shown around the outside area, which was small but packed with lots of varieties of green growing things. The employee was very knowledgeable about the many different plants he showed me that would have fit my needs. I finally settled on two Mexican orange plants at $22 apiece and some weed barrier. Beware of root rot! Check the roots before purchasing! Majority of the indoor plants in this place may appear healthy, but check for root rot. The only thing I liked about this plant shop was that the employees were friendly and communicated with me about their ivies being back in stock so I came back in to purchase one for $20. The plant looked fine when I received it and the soil was completely dry. While I was trying to re-pot this in a different container, I noticed that the roots were dark brown with very minimal roots. I had a feeling that this was a sign of root rot and was a bit disappointed. But I went on to repotting it in hopes that it would survive. 3 weeks later, the leaves have all shriveled up and died. Yup. Root rot, as I have suspected was the main culprit of this plant's death which all leads to poor plant care from this plant shop. They sold me a plant with root rot. $20 wasted. Of all the plants I've passionately nurtured and grown so far, this has been the biggest disappointment. read more

I have been going to Gardensphere for many years and love this Proctor neighborhood jewel. The family run feel there is fostered by all their employees and they are experts in the gardening industry. Each time I make a purchase I know it is the best quality available. Last year I bought 3 evergreen magnolias and Travis ensured they were the most beautiful he could find. This kid-friendly gem is loved by my little ones too, they love to get lost in the plants and baby chicks. I shop here all year long and Gardensphere is the only place I get my Christmas trees. Talk about customer service. I signed up to Yelp just to post this review, so great is the customer service at GardenSphere. We bought a large quantity of plants from the store three years ago and had an outside agency plant them. But, sadly, they wouldn't take in our poor soil. We lost about half the first year. In came Travis and Gabe from GardenSphere to replace the plants, including doing the labor, for no charge. The following year, we lost the other half of the original plants and most of the new ones. Travis and Gabe again to the rescue! They've consulted with us, tested soil, done site visits and together determined a new course of action, which we are about to take. As I said earlier, we are three years into this project. The warranty on the plants was one year, but GardenSphere didn't care. They still have our backs and are taking care of our situation until we are satisfied. "If it takes a decade, we'll get it right," Travis said during today's site visit. I believe him. I might be an old man screaming at kids to get off my yard by the time I get my plants the way I want them to be, but I know with GardenSphere I'm going to get the damn things! Soil be damned, too! If all businesses were like GardenSphere, the world would be a better place. read more

We used to live down the street from this shop, and it was always our first stop for garden supplies. What I like most is that they carry a different selection of tools than the big stores, and I think their prices are comparable. They have a great selection of small shrubs and flowers, but not much in the way of larger trees (which was what I was looking for on my last visit, sadly). The people who work there are very helpful and friendly. Once, when I was looking to buy a bucket for putting weeds and whatnot into, they just gave me an old feed bucket to save me a few bucks. Right then and there they made me into a repeat customer. Even though it's no longer down the street, we still stop by to get what we need. read more

I have never been able to keep a plant alive. Then I started going to Gardensphere. These people are amazing. The helped me get everything I needed for raised bed vegetable gardening and helped me choose products that were both sustainable and organic. They encouraged me to call from home whenever I had questions or problems and have answered my many questions without complaint. Travis seems to know everything about local plants and local pests. Some people say the prices are on the high side, but I bought starts from both Gardensphere and another local garden shop, and am amazed at how much healthier the plants I bought form Gardensphere are. We've had the best service here and won't go anywhere else!! Friendly, knowledgeable and patient staff. I go in and ask a million questions regarding how to care for my plants, what plants will work best in our yard, etc. and they patiently answer each and every question. What I like best about this place, is that they will make recommendations and happily order plants for you. The box stores do have more in stock, but they know very little about where and how to plant. I prefer to wait a week or 2 knowing I'm getting the right plant @ the right price. They are usually lower in price than other local nurseries and about the same as Home Depot or Lowes. Highly recommend! read more

We love garden Sphere. They spend the time to help solve any garden problems, get you started, and find the best products. On top of being our favorite garden shop they have supported many community projects and events with the schools I work at. My pottery classes at Franklin Pierce High school, serving a very low-income population created planters this Spring to represent something they want to grow more of in their life. Garden Sphere generously donated 40 succulents so the students could plat something in the pots they created. Their love for what they do goes far beyond their storefront. Thinking of cutting down your own Christmas tree this year? This place should make you think twice. We went to Gardensphere at 6 PM this evening to pick out our tree. By 7 PM, our gorgeous 7-foot noble fir was delivered to our home, given a fresh cut at the base, and centered and leveled in its stand. Gardensphere gets 5 stars: high-quality trees, friendly customer service, locally-owned, fast and free delivery, and their chilled out cat Thomas who sleeps in a cardboard plant tray on the front counter. For the win. But no really, if you want to catch a cold out in the Pacific Northwest rain at a tree farm cutting down your ol' Charlie Brown, covering your hands and car in pitch, and paying the same amount for your tree as we did, then go for it. I was impressed with their knowledge and willingness to answer questions. They even have classes for prospective chicken owners! Recently I went in to ask questions about fruit trees that I want to plant in my garden. They were very helpful and even answered some questions that I didn't think to ask. I just discovered Gardensphere last year, cant believe I have lived in the area this long and didnt discover it before! I LOVE this place...for its incredible service and the assurance that what I buy there is 100% and if for some reason its not, they make it 100%!!! I have been going to an online site for the last few years to buy my Christmas tree and have it delivered, I had no idea Gardenshere did this, I saw their sign out on the corner of 30th and Proctor and went in to check out what they had. They had beautiful trees and the prices were far better than what I had been paying online and I was buying local! Travis delivered it the next day and set it all up...definently doing this again next year and telling ALL my friends. This place exemplified customer service at its best. My wife and I were late getting out in the day to get our Christmas tree, so instead of making it out to a farm, we stopped here. We drove 20 mins out of our way because we didn't know of tree stands nearby, and I'm glad we did! At first they seem small without a huge selection of trees. But they have a huge stack of them out back all netted up that they will cut open and show you. I believe they have four types of trees, as well as a big selection of wreaths and mistletoe. We are really picky, and took our time looking at every tree up front, before deciding on the first Fraser fir they cut open from the back. To top it off, they delivered our tree for free at the time we requested so that we were able to go out hunting for a tree topper. We gave our address and number, along with a time of delivery. They called when they were 20 minutes out to let us know. They then brought the tree upstairs inside and started to set it in our stand. The tree was a little too big for our stand, so they grabbed one from their truck and set it all up for free! Those bigger stands will cost you a few bucks at any store, and for them to offer free delivery, set up and the stand was like getting the tree for free! We tipped them, and as soon as they left I wished I had tipped them more, they deserve it! read more

After a bad experience at a bigger nursery, I returned to Gardensphere (they're in my neighborhood) and couldn't be happier. I wish I had gotten the names of the people who helped me, but they were all terrific! As a novice (okay, reluctant) gardener, I had a lot of questions about some trees I wanted to plant, and the guy I spoke with took lots of time and was very patient and informative as I made my selection. He even walked me through the process of clearing the location for my trees using the 811 service. They showed up to plant my trees (SO worth it!) right on time, and the guy was cheerful and helpful (even moved some heavy planters for me!) despite the cold, pelting rain. And while I was quoted a planting price of $75/tree (which was worth it for me), he planted both trees quickly enough that it was $75 for both. AND they came back out and staked my trees when a windstorm was predicted. Super friendly and helpful all around! read more
