Wild Thyme Nursery - Huge petunia hanging baskets. Only $35! So happy I went here first vs the big box sellers - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Tacoma, Washington

I absolutely love this nursery. It is owned by a married couple and not only are they incredibly knowledgeable, but they are so warm and kind. I feel so welcomed everytime I come to the nursery. They both are willing to spend as much time as possible to answer any questions you might have. I have purchased 7 fruit trees from them and they all turned out great! They gave detailed information on how to care for them. I love supporting their business read more

One hundred percent with it. Local owned, knowledgeable owners, great selection, and did I mention great owners? It's growing season, and I didn't quite know how it would be rolling in, but it's clear that the owners know what they're doing and want to keep doing it at a reasonable scale. I wish we had ten of these nearby. No fancy waterfalls or plants that will die after the first frost. Mom and pop of nurseries. Check here before the big box stores, they'll tell you if they don't have it and which one to get it at if you want it! read more

Picked out some plants for our house! I wanted evergreen and perennial plants. The couple who owns this nursery were so helpful! They helped us choose the perfect plants for our space and even gave us advice on how to care for them and how to plant them! I was also surprised at how affordable the plants were. read more

They are closed on Sundays. Owner tried to get yelp to fix but to no avail. Anyway... the owners are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. If you are looking for unusual or different from the big box stores, this is the place. Prices are reasonable as well !! read more

We decided to add some fruit trees to our yard and wanted to shop small and local. From the moment we walked up to Wild Thyme I felt like we were in good hands. We didn't think we would be able to get everything we wanted at the same place but they had everything! We ended up with one apple, one cherry, one peach and one pear. The neat thing about the pear is it is 4 pears in one tree. What a find!! The staff was so knowledgeable and, after asking what we already had, they made recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed. They also gave instructions on planting and we felt very confident about planting and caring for them. If you are looking for knowledgeable staff and great options, look no further! read more

Hidden gem! Joe and his wife are very knowledgeable. He is also a landscaper so he knows his stuff about our local zone and plants. I love going here I always learn so much. read more

Our favorite nursery! Joe and Pil are the lovely couple who own this nursery. They are highly knowledgeable, helpful, and honest. They will not sell you something just because you like it. They want to see your garden become the success you have in mind, saving you money in the long run. So they will steer you in the right direction every time. They have a unique, affordable, beautiful, and healthy selection of plants. And every summer, they insist you enjoy one of their Asian pears picked right from the tree! I LOVE this place! read more

Love the nursery and the couple that own it. Always finding something a bit different and unique. Last year I saw this very unique plant and asked what it was. Turns out it was asparagus. Pil broke off apiece for me to try. It was such a fun personal experience rather than going to a box store. Yesterday I bought a fabulous hydrangea standard and two luscious hanging baskets. Will be going back for another load... read more

I've driven by this place a million times and never really paid attention to it before. This spring I was looking for a quince tree but most nurseries don't have them so I was so excited to find them here! The nursery is bigger than it looks from the road and they have a lot of variety, even plants that I haven't seen at the bigger nurseries. There was a lady and a gentleman working that day and they were so helpful. They carried the trees to my truck and made sure they were secure for the drive. They also gave me planting instructions, some tips for growing, and said to call back with any questions. Overall I had a great experience at this nursery and plan to come back for any future planting needs! read more

Love this place. The owners are both kind and knowledgeable, focused more on plant care than talking price. Will definitely go back.

Can't wait to visit this nursery in person! 5 stars and we've never even been there. My dad ordered us a few plants (for his 1 year old grandson) and had a great experience working with them over the phone (he's out of state). They even delivered to us as part of the plant surprise. Owner was so friendly and knowledgeable! Gave us a quick rundown on our new plants and how to care for them! Really fun, happy guy to talk with! read more

This is one of the best nurseries I've ever been to! If you want perrenial plants, edible fruit trees and bushes or pond plants, this is the place for you. They also do starts in season and don't sell stuff when it isn't ready to go in your graden. The best thing is that you will get expert advice from them on any gardening questions you have. read more

I would come here everyday if I could. It's like an adventure every time you're here! We went today to get some shrubs and we're immediately greeted and helped. There was SO much to choose from and they were so happy to share knowledge and gardening help to us since we're new to the landscaping world. The prices were great and we left with exactly what we were looking for. I will definitely be back for more plants and flowers as we start getting into our garden more! read more

I have driven past this place for years without much thought. After purchasing a house recently with beautiful landscaping, I was faced with a weeping cherry with an issue. I brought a piece of a branch to them to ask for guidance. As soon as I pulled the branch out of my car and they saw it, I was told it was a fungus and needed to spray. I didn't even ask yet. I decided to look around and see what they had. It was WAY bigger than it appeared. Very informative, kind, and fun staff/owners. My favorite part was the bluebirds that were like pets. They gave me an unshelled peanut and told me to hold my hand out and stay still. They called at her and I saw the bird swoop around and inspect me and the nut. She then swiped down and retrieved it from my hand. It made my day. We will be regulars for sure! read more

Finally stopped into this nursery! So happy I did, gorgeous plants and flowers, everything you can imagine. Owner is really great and friendly. Found exactly what I wanted! I'll be back. Wish I would have come in sooner! read more

This place had a great variety of interesting and beautiful plants. The prices seemed very good too! But more than anything, the owners were awesome! Fun to talk to, very knowledgeable, and really nice. They insisted we go eat some mulberries... and they were delicious! Will definitely be coming back! read more

Again, Wild Thyme came to our rescue! This time it was with a problem only tangentially related to gardening, for which the owners provided some bamboo. At the same time, we asked again whether they happened to have a white lilac bush to replace our ancient one. The poor thing was run over and killed by a completely incompetent driver from Pacific Air Systems (!!). This time, Wild Thyme had one - yeay! - so we got it, and for a good price. Finally, we had a nice time observing their dear hummingbirds while the owner patiently answered my question about why my yellowing juvenile Austrian pine. He showed me that all the pines do this, so I shouldn't necessarily be too worried. Thanks again, Wild Thyme nursery! read more

Pil is awesome and completely knowledgeable about her her plants and trees. We bought a beautiful Japanese Maple from here. It's a local small mom and pop nursery, but their selection is varied and offers very healthy plants. We will be back to buy some perennials for our garden! read more

The owners are lovely people and so nice. Very knowledgeable about all plants. And Pil is hilarious! I always enjoy shopping there!

Incredibly friendly service, very reasonable prices, and a nice variety of most types of plants.

Pil and her husband are wonderful people, and their product knowledge is astounding. For years now, we have been buying shrubs, trees, etc from them, and we couldn't be happier with the quality. And Pil is a hoot...absolutely hilarious. Check this place out. read more

OMG, what a selection of trees, I've never been so excited going to a nursery. We happened to pass by it on the way to dinner and the following day, I had to go. I found the perfect tree for my cut out in my deck. read more

I bought a fuchsia plant from this place. The next day it went limp and never recovered. Turns out the plant was not rooted. It was a cutting from another plant that was just stuck in a pot with soil and put out for sale. Needles to say I will not be buying any more plants from this place. read more

Joe and Pil are knowledgeable, friendly, and provide excellent customer service. We bought a couple of box woods and a Japanese Maple that was delivered and planted in a professional manner. Their prices are reasonable, too. read more
