Food was excellent. The service was: Order up front and pay upfront first. Then they brought you your food to the table. I didn't mind that. The place was very nice.

I am so glad that someone locally told me about this little café. It even has a drive-through for your convenience. My salad was really tasty and very large in size for the price. The best part is they make their dressings homemade. And my dressing was fantastic! I went to the drive-through. The gentleman taking my order was very friendly. The service was quick. I would definitely stop again when in Perú!

So my cousin has been raving about this place and wanting to take me here for months. So I finally got the chance to go with her. I have not been in this building for probably over 30 years when it was Taco Johns. I like the paint job on the outside. They got rid of the grungy greenhouse looking front. Inside was clean and bright. We both ordered Taco Salads. I got a small and she got the large. The small was pretty big. The large was super sized. I also got a side of cottage cheese. And she got a strawberry smoothie. Salads were fresh and had a good amount of ingredients. What made it for me was the crushed Doritos. I was totally full. I honestly don't know how she finished the large salad, but she did. The young man that took our order was friendly. He also brought our food to our table when it was ready. The have quite a large menu for such a small place. I hope they do well. Peru needs good places to eat that aren't fast food or chains. My only critique would be get a new brand of hot sauce. It was super thin and not really all that hot.

Quick service, great food. Had the Italian Roast Beef sandwich and it was terrific. Pretzels are amazing! Would go again.

Allegedly, in 1933, Dillinger robbed the near by police station of guns and ammo. Hence the name...Dillinger's Bar & Grill. Dillinger's is a smaller but wide open restaurant. An inviting bar is centrally located. The wooden floors, ceilings and hand-hued beams are probably original to 1880's business structure. The facility is simple and sports a lot of Dillinger references like the table tops. I found the team here to be very friendly and willing to serve. The menu is fairly large with lots of Dillinger coded menu items to choose from. The prices were very reasonable with decent portion sizes (i.e. no highway robbery here lol). We started with the onion rings. They had a thick piece of onion and equally thick batter. The batter had a bit of a beer seasoning, slight oily taste and a moderately crunch. Really good tasting ring! The side salad was small with a nice mix of simple side ingredients - tomatoes, onions and cheese. My wife had the Wheelman wrap. She said it was loaded with tasty turkey and bacon flavors. She liked the fresh taste. The fries were thinner and crispy. I ordered the Silent Shot breaded tenderloin. It was very thick and juicy. The pork taste really came out nicely. The breading was thick like the onion rings - slight crunch and slightly oily. The sandwich came with all the usual toppings. The Cole slaw was also very tasty. The small slaw pieces were almost diced. The mayo base was slightly sweet with a hint of vinegar. It stuck to the slaw pieces without being soupy. Overall another interesting, out of the way place, with good drops and service... to dine and experience some Americana.

Ate here two nights in a row because there aren't many other restaurants in Peru open for dinner…read more(Dillinger's is closed). Had two great experiences. This place feels more like a bar that serves food than a restaurant, but don't let that discourage you. It is very well air conditioned (bring a jacket or sweater and wear long pants!) and, surprising for a bar, was actually quiet enough for conversation without raised voices. Our waitress the first night was Jillian and we loved her! She was extremely efficient and friendly and had helpful info about breakfast options. The wine was a generous pour, the fried cauliflower was a pleasure, and the hamburger very good. The desserts are made in house (try finding that at any other restaurant!) and we were lucky that it was Boston cream pie the first night we ate there. Sooooo good!!!! On our return visit, I had to restrain myself from getting the cauliflower again and had the brisket, which was a special that night. Perfection! Smoky, melt in your mouth meaty goodness. My dining companion said the salmon with bourbon glaze was the best salmon he had ever had. And he has lived a long life. The menu also includes fried gizzards (which I was told are frequently ordered) and fried baloney. The prices for everything were reasonable. This place is clearly popular with locals, who come in to have a drink and buy lotto tix from the vending machine by the door. Everyone was friendly and in a good mood. The folks at the next table struck up a conversation with us on their way out. If there is only one place to have dinner in downtown Peru, at least it is a great place!

We ordered the grouper bites with sides, and the potatoes tasted like instant--very bland and not what we expected. Since the waitress mentioned that some items were made from scratch, I didn't think to ask whether the mashed potatoes were homemade. I wasn't aware of the 4% card up charge until the bill came. I didn't see it listed anywhere so must have been in fine print? That said, the waitress was kind and helpful throughout our visit. Overall, though, the experience didn't feel worth the price.
