Gregg and Gregory, his son, are a great team; Julie, the office manager, knew all the answers to my questions , and if she didn't she got back to me with the answers promptly. Great communication, and they did an excellent job running a gas line for my fireplace insert with no glitches. I was recommended to Garcia Plumbing from O'Kell's fireplace store who said they work with Garcia plumbing for gas line installations for gas fireplace inserts all the time. They also not only think highly of Garcia Plumbing's work, but of Gregg, the owner, and his staff ( it's a longtime family business) as well . I agree on all counts and can confirm that they are all the nicest people to work with! I live in San Mateo County and although they are in SF , they were happy to help me out, even when I told them that I was going to pull the permit myself, had no idea what I was doing, and assumed it would take some time ( as it turned out, Gregg Garcia came and gave me an estimate in mid December, and I wasn't able to get a permit and proceed until mid-March) . Gregg had told me when he came out for the estimate exactly what he was going to do, and how he was going to run the pipe , which was extremely helpful because I used all that info in my permit application. Even though Garcia doesn't pull permits in San Mateo county, Julie spent time on the phone with me telling me the process and info needed in SF so I could get a sense of it ; it helped me a lot to get the whole picture for my own permit application . When I needed additional, even more specific information (e.g. pipe material, pipe diameter, length of pipe sections, how they were going to affix the conduit to joists, etc. ) Julie was able to pass along Gregg's quick response so I could add it to the permit application quickly . Gregg and Gregory worked all day and then some to complete the installation in one day . Gregory showed up again with time to spare for a non-specific 2 hour window for a gas test inspection , and fielded all questions the inspector had, fully and professionally. Two weeks ago, our old water heater stopped working. It was pretty old (15+ years) and was in dire need of replacement. Our landlord called up Garcia Plumbing, they're known for doing great work. Garcia Plumbing Co. showed up quickly with an associate and was able to fix the problem really quickly; they did a full water heater replacement within a few hours. Greg did a great job explaining the problem clearly to us. In addition, he notified us of a latent problem with the old exhaust pipe: it was broken and fumes were entering our garage. This problem was fixed as well. In addition, they were very mindful of the "shelter in place" order and kept two meters distance. Greg also clearly explained to me how to restart the heater in the event the flame goes out. Nice people. We've had warm water for two weeks now and we're happy with the job they did! I have been scammed. Buyer beware. So disappointed stressed and frustrated. My house has been literally torn apart, garbage left in my yard and has ghosted me. Demanded a $7000 check yet when I asked for an itemized invoice Jonathon could never produce one so that I could get reimbursed for the water leak due to the fault of the solar company. This has been since New Years Eve and I have not received an invoice. Also was lied to when I called the office and was told there was no one there by the name of Jonathan Garcia. Yet the phone number listed on the website is his mobile number. I was also lied to about him getting a new phone yet his text messages were still coming from his original mobile number. He pretty much held my home hostage from getting repaired. Had he provided the invoice he would've been paid by now. Because the solar company was as fault for the leak, Jonathan was inflating the demolition and repairs seeing this as a cash cow opportunity. Before getting started he pointed out that when he turned the gas back on, he might not be able to relight the pilot light of our ancient hot water heater, in which case he'd have to go out and get a new one. No pressure to get one up front--he simply laid out the options for me. He was very professional, worked unobtrusively, ran the pipe very cleanly--no drama, he just got the job done. He came again recently to look at our toilet, which didn't want to flush--big problem that no other plumber could solve other than to suggest replacing the toilet. Greg raised the water level in the tank and now the toilet flushes every time. He also looked at other wonky things in the bathroom and kitchen and gave us options--and only charged a $100 consulting fee. He replaced our broken and clogging kitchen outflow pipe, which involved jackhammering and removing a section of cement, digging to find said pipe and installing new pipe to a newer line.
