He gave me what I considered to be a fair price per square foot (based on my research of average pricing for wood floor refinishing) over the phone and was able to meet me that same day to get exact measurements. He was very accommodating to my schedule understanding that I wasn't currently living in the apartment and needed some extra travel time. The meeting was efficient and painless. He asked all the right questions and did not waste my time. He took down my email address and told me that he would email me the estimate. I needed this job to be done asap and he assured me that he could start the work on Monday and be done in 2 days. Sure enough later that evening he sent me the estimate via email. The ONLY reason why I went with another service provider is because I happened to get a referral from a very close friend the next day otherwise I would of DEFINITELY gone with NY Floorman. I was very impressed just with this process alone.

Richard was the only person to send me estimated costs in advance, provide me with images to consider finishes before hand. He was on time to the initial site meeting to take measurements and provide a detailed estimate. He was approachable, replied to emails quickly and gave me a sense of confidence that won him the job. I eliminated one company for missing the initial meeting (he called to say he'd be 2 hours late - this is unacceptable to me). I had them remove a partial wall, patch what was left over, and sand and refinish the floors. The guys on the site were great, punctual and reliable. They provided on site samples of the finishes for me to make a selection. (I would ask for this in advance if you want to see multiple colors/tones). The job took 4 days from start to finish, and was completed on time, as promised. Richard's price was competitive and the work was well done. They were respectful and listened to my concerns, described the work in detail and let me know what they would work on each day. I feel confident in recommending them to anyone. I will consult them again when I am ready to do more work. They are great.

My wife and I built our house in 2010 with select oak floors throughout the house. However, the oak…read morefloor finish wore out (mostly in the kitchen) within two years. Since then, we refinished the floor three times with two different companies, but the result got worse and worse, with dirt trapped under the finish, worn areas becoming bigger, and the overall look of the floor has become "dead" with all the beauty of the oak gone. This summer we decided to redo the floor again and I (very fortuitously) found Mike Callahan of Callahan Brothers. That was the beginning of a very smooth "sailing" to perfect floors and more. Mike came to look at the floors and I told him of several other issues we had in the house. For example, we had problems with rain missing the gutters and getting into the house because of the solar panels on the roof. Mike recommended an outstanding gutter company and suggested what needs to be done (install 6" gutters) which completely fixed the problem. Then, Mike suggested a company that packed and moved our furniture out of the house and a painter who repaired the trims after the floor work and did some other repairs. And now to the central issue of how Mike transformed our floors. His crew under the foreman Carlos covered everything in the house with sheets, sanded the floors and stairs, and worked with us to select the stain color that we liked the most. The result was magnificent. The floors came alive like I have never seen before. On top of that, the crew left the house clean and ready to move back in
