I hope I'm using the right Mr. Handyman from the Norwalk area, but my experience was anything but…read more Contacted them to do a simple install of a wall mount for a TV. Got a quote sounded within reason (about $150 I think) and scheduled. Due to a snow storm we had to reschedule which is not their fault at all. The day the worker showed up I had it alll taped up where the mount should sit- where the studs were located. Realistically I could have done the job, but with investing in one of the first super high def, 85" TV in an apartment, I wanted the safety that it was professionally installed and if by some chance this tore out of the wall and destroyed a few thousand dollar TV- I wasn't on the hook. Guy showed up, never installed a mount before. Said he started with them only weeks ago and proceeded to sit on the floor reading the manual 3-4 times, taking all the bolts and screws out. Spent probably 3 hours prepping himself. Then he didn't have a tool he needed. We had to reschedule again. Second time, he was so nervous he called a buddy to help him (on his own dime) to make sure he was doing it correctly. we got the TV up and mounted (HEAVY) and he told me the bill was for about $500.00. The repairman couldn't have been nicer and he was brand new and didn't want to lose his job. I explained, I'm in no way upset with him, but for management to send out someone who never did this work before, underquoted me, and then place him in the position to do something he's uncomfortable with was unacceptable. I was on teh phone with i assume the manager for some time where he was basically telling me I was trying to skate out of the bill. We finally negotiated a price which I knew was going to be disputed right after the call. Happy to pay the quote, but not for someone to read instructions and burn 3 hours over 2 days trying to figure 1 TV mount. I gave the worker a good tip because it wasn't his fault and I truly felt bad for him as he was really trying hard to do it right. When I asked for a receipt from him, he said they never gave him any receipt book (Whole purose of the job) But I will NEVER use them again. I warn others to have a written estimate with a addendum that no additional fees are authorized without written documented reason.

They're always on time, respectful, leave everything spotless, and approach problems with a can-do attitude. But what matters most to me is the trust I have in Robinson and his team. What a company ! I…read moream from New Jersey (no laughs please) and purchased a refrigerator as a surprise gift for a friend who lives in Weston Ct and arranged to have it delivered when she was not home. I had to get up at six in the morning, and drive over 75 miles to meet the delivery person, but I knew the gift would make her happy - so it was worthwhile. However when the delivery people arrived, they looked at me and said "lady it ain't going to fit"... and it was then that I realized that, my good deed was about to go seriously wrong. So there I was stranded in Conn. not knowing a soul. I desperately picked up the phone book and I started to make calls to construction companies. Much to my surprise I reached NICOLE - the lovely Office Manager at GAINES QUALITY REPAIRS & MORE and she promised to help out. (Maybe she just did not want to hear me cry). Sure enough within two hours GEORGE, a skilled carpenter was on the scene, shaving off about an inch from the Formica counter-top and sliding in the refrigerator into place. I was so so happy. He brought all the tools, did the job without much fuss AND cleaned up after himself. The strange thing is I must have made such a raucous, that when George was finishing up, his supervisor MICHAEL stopped by to make sure I was happy. In New Jersey it is impossible to even get a contractor to call you back, let alone show up within two hours and do the job right. Maybe I should consider moving to Conn., but in the meantime I want to YELP that some firms do get it right, and I would definitely recommend GAINES QUALITY REPAIR for any type of construction job

We then agreed to paint the second home (select interiors) for $1,000. When the job was done I paid him assuming everything was up to satisfaction, which was my mistake. When my tenants arrived (first to the home) they were met with random off-color streaks throughout the home. It is one thing to paint a whole wall close to a color, but a whole other level of laziness to just paint over select affected areas to leave the home looking like a horror show. After multiple attempts to encourage Abilio to do the right thing and work with me on renovating a clearly terrible job, he refused. I never post reviews, but if I can save someone the hassle of what I went through, I trust this post will help. If anyone has any suspicions this is a hit piece feel free to email me (sienaholdings@gmail.com) for actual screenshots of our dialog and pictures of his "$1,000" paint job that is costing me $2,000 more to fix!

It was close to closing time when I called but decided to give it a shot as I needed a door installed ASAP. To my surprise, Dorian answered the phone. I let him know what I needed and he even came that same night after hours to do a consultation. Once he assessed, and understood the urgency he sent a quote that night, and made an appt that same week to install the door/door frame. He sent me all my options and picked everything up at Home Depot for me so I didn't have to move a finger. Dorian answered texts promptly, was very careful with his work, and kept me updated throughout the day on progress/issues he found when installing my door. While he was working he listened to my needs and customized the door to what I needed. At the end of the job he even offered to fix some messed up door locks in the house that my sister mentioned weren't working properly, free of charge. Everything was a seamless process from start to finish. You can tell Dorian takes pride in his work and it shows. I would highly recommend Dorian and the Handyman team for your needs.
