I called Garage Doors 4 Less to fix a broken torsion spring. The owner, Adrian, asked me to send him a text message with a picture of the broken spring and he gave me a quote over the phone. He had a much better price than another highly rated company on Yelp so I made an appointment with them for the next day. Everything was great except for my appointment got pushed back by an hour. The technician that was supposed to come for my appointment got tied up in another job that lasted longer than expected so I called about 15 minutes after my appointment time and Adrian said he was on his way himself. He was about an hour away so I really appreciated him making the drive when the other technician couldn't make it. It was not an inconvenience to me because I was planning on being home anyway, and I had told them when I made the appointment that my schedule was open all day. Adrian was very friendly, honest, and professional. Whoever installed the garage door originally cut some corners and Adrian was nice enough to exchange some bolts for a more appropriate type free of charge. He pointed out several things that may need to be replaced soon, and I did not at all get the impression that he was trying to sell me something I didn't need (my garage door is 12-13 years old so parts are starting to wear out). He gave me a price break on labor and then wrote up a thorough, itemized receipt showing the warranty on each part that he replaced and wrote a quote for some other repairs that I will need in the future. I was really impressed with his work and on top of that he is just a nice, hard-working guy who is supporting his wife and two kids (he just had a baby a week ago!). After having contracted anytime garage doors and getting a quote from them I was very nervous about having another company come over. Anytime was agressive and was actively trying to scam us into paying 900 plus for a broken spring. We called Garage doors for less and they sent out Brain. Brain was on time and completely straight with me. He did not try to up sell or pretend things needed to be replaced that didn't. As a woman alone in the house I was very comfortable around him, and my animals loved him. He also communicated well and was very aware of my cat who uses a cat door that goes into the garage, and went out of his way to make sure that he didnt escape. In the end I was charged a fair price of $260.79 for two upgraded springs which was a lot more reasonable then the 900 for the same work that the other company was going to charge me. They did a great job and I have a 5 year warranty on the new springs. If possible ask for Brian... You will be glad that you did! read more

One of the torsion springs on my 20-year-old door had broken - he came out right on time at noon the next day and had it fixed within an hour. While he was there, I casually mentioned that I had always wanted an outdoor keypad for the garage door - he said, "I think I have a used one in my truck," and sure enough, he did - charging my only $25 for it. He was able to confirm this during his visit - But did not not have a replacement part for my kind of garage door on his truck. He agreed to come out the next day and he did. My 7 year old garage door opener system completely broke down yesterday trapping my car in the garage. I had the iDrive type of opener system and I didn't realize that Wayne Dalton had discontinued this system. I got three bids. One of the springs broke on our garage door in the middle of the night. Googled various companies and looked at the reviews on Yelp. We try to support local mom and pop businesses. Found Garage Doors 4 Less with a ton of great reviews. Was hoping it wasn't going to be "Too good too be true". Spoke to Adrian the next morning. Really appreciated his upfront pricing quotes. His lead tech Brian was out an hour later. Both (Adrian and Brian) very personable and took the time to answer all my questions. I ended up going with 2 bigger and better springs with lifetime warranties. Brian explained the use of the springs and the average rate in which they wear over time. I initiated the conversation to see if there was anything better, that would last longer. At no point in the conversation did he pressure us to go to the bigger springs. He simply laid out the facts, and the costs. I chose to go with the better springs. It's nice to see a company that is honest and fair. No BS and no suspicions just honest business practices. Why five vs. four stars? Because not only did GD4L do an outstanding job, they did not try and up-sell me. In fact, quite the opposite occurred. The owner himself came out to do the estimate of repair. (I accidentally backed out before the garage was fully retracted. I blame my wife for distracting me. LOL) Anyway the owner came out the same day and sold me only what I needed. When the crew came out to do the repair, they were expedient and professional. The bottom line is I would use GD4L again in a heartbeat (I hope I never have to though) On that note after getting 5 quotes GD4L came in the lowest as well. So I'm the latest customer to give a 5 star rating and this one is a no-brainer. This was by far the best in-home service I have had to use as a homeowner. My old opener broke and I attempted to fix the issue on my own by replacing the carriage assembly but the door still wouldn't rise up all the way. I wanted to write in and say that the service tech Brian was a great help when my garage door would not close on Christmas. He came into my garage addressed the problem fixed the problem, reset my remotes, lubed the whole door and chain, checked to make sure the springs were level, changed light bulbs all at my request. This guy was on top of his game and the price was extremely reasonable, I was expecting to pay at least $150 - $200 and it was under that! I run a service company in the valley and only hire techs like him and they are hard to find - You got a keeper Garage Doors for Less! He called on his way and he was here when he stated he would be. He even stapled his card to my wall next to the opener so if I ever had another problem I could call on him. Adrian is no call no show type of business person, please read below. I called and received a decent quote over the phone for a new garage door. I gave Adrian the dimensions of the existing original door which was installed in 1968. We set up a Saturday morning install. Adrian' s coworker/employee called me and asked if he could come early Saturday morning at 7am, I agreed. I woke up at 6am to finish clearing out garage as I was up until 12 midnight getting the garage ready. My friend is storing his furniture/belongings in my garage until his house is finished being built. Adrian's employee showed up 20 mins late and tells me he can't install the door as the he brought wouldn't look right because the opening dimensions are smaller than the door and that he would need to add some framing. He was upset that Adrian did not come out to look at the door. He told me Adrian would be calling me very shortly to reschedule. Adrian never called. Three hours later I decided to call Adrian, he couldn't talk because he was going to a birthday party and would call me back in a few hours. Adrian never called back to reschedule. I sent him a text, he never responded. He has not apologized. Adrian wasted my time and caused a huge incovience. I found a reputable company that actually came out and gave a free estimate. I will give my business and every referal to them instead. read more

So, I had a guy from Sears come to my house and ultimately replace the springs to my door over a year ago... a couple of weeks ago the motor to my opener died and a second Sears guy wanted to sell me another opener... I held off and found AZ Garage Doors 4 Less via Yelp. They came down and properly pointed out that the first Sears guy put the wrong springs on the door which then had a chain reaction that killed my opener. He also pointed out that the first Sears guy realized it then and tried to rig the electric stop on the railing to make the door appear opened and the tension on the cables tight when in fact the door was 3 inches lower, and with the door open the cables easily came off the spools that held them, which could have been caused additional damage or worse someone could have been hurt. All of this and the second Sears guy didn't really even notice or check any of these issues. Thanks to AZ Garage Doors 4 Less, I have a great new garage door opener at a great price, and with the info he provided, I was able to get Sears to come back and install the correct springs for the door at no cost, which fully opens now... and is audibly non existent... 5 stars all the way....
