Our garage door opener was not working properly so we called the Garage Door Dude for a repair. We spoke with the owner, Steve Brooks. We scheduled a service for several days later with an 11 am to noon window. Steve indicated the serviceman would call 30 minutes before arrival. The morning of the service, I sent Steve a text at 10 am to confirm the service and received a positive response. I took off from work and arrived at our home at 11 am. Having heard nothing, I sent a follow-up text at 11:40 am, but Steve did not respond. At 11:50 am I called Steve and he apologized for the delay. He indicated his serviceman, Chris, would call me. Chris called at 11:55 am and indicated he was approx. 25 minutes away. I texted Chris the address and gate code. At 12:30 pm, I called Chris again to check on his status and he indicated he was approx. 20 minutes away. When I questioned his timing, Chris became angry, cancelled my service call, and hung up on me. We will not use or do not recommend Garage Door Dude. read more

Steve and Chris were great to work with purchasing our replacement door opener. They performed a quick installation from my phone call. Chris installed the opener and kept everything neat in the garage. He had to adjust the spring on the door prior to installing the new opener. Both men provided invaluable help getting my two vehicles programmed. I highly recommend this local company. They were willing to go above and beyond in customer service. Chris and his dad have been very good to us. I originally called them many years ago when our garage door spring snapped. They came out within a day, accessed the situation and determined we needed a custom spring made. They made that happen the same day. Pretty impressive to having a custom garage door spring snap and be up and running again within 48hrs. They also installed a new garage door opener for us some years back and never had any issues. I recently called Chris to check our garage door because it started making some pretty bad noises. He came out within 48hrs and checked everything out, spring, rails, opener, rollers, panel brackets. Said we were good to go and made a suggestion to replace the rollers with nylon and spray with lubricant. I offered to pay for his time but he wouldn't let me. I've only had very positive experiences with these guys and will call them again in the future. read more

I really wanted to like this company. Their business card says don't get screwed call the dude... Well I got screwed because I called the dude! When I scheduled an appointment to have my garage door installed a week in advance they forgot my appointment and instead of owning it and making it right to the customer and respecting that I have a schedule too, I was told they have other appointments that day and had to reschedule it for another day throwing off all of my other appointments I had scheduled. Then they showed up late to the "2nd scheduled appointment" but did install the door. However the guy was unable to hook up my truck to the opener and I was again!!! told he had other appointments... what about mine? I made another appointment to get the guy out and hook up my truck again and not only was he late an entire hour and un-remorseful about it,didn't even apologize and he was unable to fix it but I was told AGAIN he had other appointments and rather than wait on hold with the manufacturer technical support and resolve the issue he hung up and went to "attend" to his "more important clients". I was told he would call me back... a week later, no call. The only good thing about this experience was that they did install the garage door correctly and the guy who showed up was nice and respectful at least. BUT APPARENTLY THIS COMPANY HAS A BIG PROBLEM WITH PUNCTUALITY. A PROBLEM WITH UNDERSTANDING FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. A PROBLEM WITH FINISHING THE JOB. They were very professional and on the spot. Today the came to the house to fix our garage door that wasn't broken, more operator error. They found the cause immediately and advised us what to do. They could have easily charged a service fee but didn't. We will definitely use them and refer them in the future! read more

I have used this company before and they were excellent. However, this last week I called for service, my door would not go down, and I was treated poorly. I thought maybe I caught him on a bad day and it was evening. I called two days later because the problem got worse and needed service. I was told they would be out the following day, I sent my information as asked. No one showed up or sent a reply. read more

I was gonna hire these guys, but I received a call that they are refusing to work for us. Seems like unreliable and unprofessional company. They claim that the reason is because I asked if they have any discounts, which is my right as a customer to ask. I think the real reason is racial discrimination. I needed to get a spring replaced and they provided the lowest quote out of several companies I called. The son of the "dude" came in and he was very professional and prompt.
