Turns out it was a great suggestion that enabled us to save money on floors and spend that planned money on new appliances in our new, 20-yr old house. We had our vinyl floors installed in 2018. Originally we were going to go with an engineered hardwood or laminate but due to dogs and potential water issues, Mike suggested we use a multilayered vinyl. It was a great suggestion. Although installation took a little longer than expected, we're in love with our floors and the price. We came back three years later in 2021 and had the rest of our carpet replaced with new carpet. The latest installers were VERY quick and did a great job. Again, price was exceptional.

I want to write a fair review, so I'll include all the pros and cons from our experience with floor…read moregallery. When we first came into the store, I loved the floor collections there. They have a lot to offer if you are as picky as me. Mike was great and helpful at assisting us with floor collections and brought 4 different samples to our house the next day for measurements. However, we didn't know that nightmare began after we signed the contract. We decided to go with vinyls for all upstairs floor. Mike told us that his team will start on the next Monday, latest the Tuesday. However, he NEVER called on Monday to update me on his team's schedule. So I had to call him and heard him saying " I was just about to call you". The team didn't show up on Monday, they came Tuesday morning around 8am. Things went well the first day, demo was fast. The second day, the team came around same time, but they slowed down a lot, and left the house an hour earlier compared to Tuesday. Same thing with the third day, they left one hour earlier and say they will come back to finish the rest on Friday. After they left and finished on Friday, floor looked nice at first. But then we started to find many detail problems. Up until this point, we NEVER hear anything from Mike to ask if we were satisfied with the work. Our floor was not level, and we could feel the bumps and floor was moving and making sounds. So we contacted Mike and had him and his worker to come in and talk about the problems. On the day, we had to reschedule, so I called Mike to reschedule. He said he will ask his guy first and call me back shorty. 3 HOURs later, I still DIDN'T hear anything from him, and our new appointment is in 30 mins. So I texted him with attitude of course ( it's been more than one time he supposed to update me, but he didn't!) Then Mike and the worker came to check the floor. And they told me " cuz our floor is CHEAP, so that's why it's not level!" And Mike was blaming on his worker in front of me saying that the worker didn't update him or me and decided on his own of what to do with our floor. We gave them permission to float our floor when necessary at the beginning and they decided not to use it and came back to tell me our floor is cheap! The team came back to fix the floor the following week. They just decided to float EVERYWHERE this time. I don't even know if that's necessary. They used a total of 15 bags of float. It took the team another 4 days to finish the floor and came back extra 2 times to fix the minor details and the side. We had not hear from Mike at all since he came and told me our house floor is cheap. And all he ever contacted us was to have his check! The quality of the floor is great, the work was not to our satisfaction, but the encountering experience with Mike was bad! And supposed to be 3 days of work( according to Mike), it took them 8 days to finish. I'm not going to say everyone have the experience like us, but just make sure if you decide to work with Mike, call him first and ask what is going on first, so you can plan your time as you needed. And make sure check on all the detail works.

We came back in multiple times with the same honed tile looking for a matching mosiac and Ishin kept telling us the same price. We went to purchase the tile and the price was now double at $14 per sq/ft. He said the $8 price (notice more than the orginal quote) was for polished not honed. Either they are completely incompetent or liars. I wouldn't take my business here ever. They wasted so much of our time!

If you have ever shopped around for flooring of any kind, you know how expensive it is. We found Bob Wilson of Wilson flooring to be extremely knowledgeable about all types of flooring. We recently purchased flooring from him for our home. If you are shopping for wood, you know how expensive it can be. Many places with big signs and fancy names with ads on TV will take full advantage of you. We found other places to be twice as much as we paid with Wilson flooring. If you are shopping for flooring in Houston, you owe it to yourself to call Bob. His warehouse is located approximately one mile east of the Gulf Freeway on Fuqua. You will have a tough time find ing better pricing for your flooring needs. Now, lets talk about installation. You can buy all the flooring you need and do it yourself or hire your own installers. We used his preferred installers and I am thankful we did. His preferred installers came to our home and did a masterful job of installing the engineered hardwood we had purchased. The installers used the absolute minimum number of transitions between the types of flooring (e.g. when transitioning from wood to carpet or tile). Also, even though they installed the wood through a doorway, around an island in the kitchen and joined it back together in the dining area/living area, they did not use a transition. This is a sign of an installer that knows what they are doing. Wilson flooring has multiple preferred installers depending upon the type of flooring you are purchasing. We purchased engineered hardwood but he also has vinyl flooring, various types of tile, and carpeting. If you are looking for new floors, you owe it to yourself to at least talk to Wilson Flooring before making a decision. We are extremely happy we did.
