Recently my Mustang's "check engine" light came on and about the same time, my air conditioner started blowing cold air just intermittently. (For awhile I had also been noticing oil drops on the driveway, but hadn't done anything about it.) Decided to take my car to Garage 47. I made an online appointment on their website - very easy to do. Steve diagnosed the problem quickly and discussed the options with me. Turns out the drops under my car weren't oil - the cause was a leak in my water pump. I had a new water pump installed as well as a new thermostat. The price was reasonable and I feel confident the work was done right. One more thing: Garage 47 is a paperless operation... your invoice and estimate (plus a photo of the work, if you want) can be sent to your phone or your email. I was sort of happy with my previous auto service business I had been going to until my car started making an intermittent horrible noise not long after a scheduled service. I need my AC recharged and Garage 47 set me up. They put the dye into condenser so that if it all leaked out eventually they could fix it. They even take pictures of what's wrong with your car and show you and explain how everything works. You see what your being rung up for on a big screen so you know you aren't being scammed which I think is incredibly awesome. Vinni, don't know if that's how you spell his name, even told me that he wouldn't charge me to refill my condenser if it leaked. Over all great service that didn't take long considering it was a busy day for them. I highly recommend taking your car to Garage 47. Professional mechanics and honest service. After the garage that I had an appointment cancelled, i was blindly looking for a garage to service my Lexus is350. This garage is close to home, so I researched Yelp reviews, and discovered numerous great reviews of Garage 47. I called, and they provided me same day appointment! They were ready as scheduled, and they provided an oil change in 35 minutes (10 min less than quoted). The garage is busy, but well organized & efficient. I took my Prius in for a second opinion on a check engine light issue, and boy am I glad I did! Steve was very knowledgeable about hybrids, and even had contacts who car dealers contacted for repairs! He was able to fix my car for much, much cheaper than the dealer quoted me. He was super friendly and great about keeping in contact and explaining all the issues to someone not knowledgeable about cars. The prices are very very reasonable: $60 for a diagnostic, which was $74 cheaper than the dealer, but imho, Steve does a much better job. I will definitely be coming back for any repairs and maintenance, and recommending this garage to all my friends and family. My First Time Here For Both Oil Change Plus All 4 Tires Rotate At Very Reasonable Price They kind of frown about using customer's oil but they did it anyway with tires rotate. Their attitude were brighten after I had wanted 2 jobs into one. Very nice people with very friendly smile from all of their employees. Remember; the oil change that will take around, 45 minutes for great job. As Jiffy Lube has advertise in just 10 minutes, "REALLY!" I rather wait 45 minutes for do it right, then half-ass oil change from some one else. read more

So I had an issue where the people at the Mazda dealership said I basically needed a new crankshaft for my Miata. I took it to Steve, Vinny, and the folks at garage 47. It took a little time but they worked a ton of magic and were able to get my car running well again (without having to replace the crankshaft)! Just had my 98 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck serviced at this garage. They replaced the starter and did an Oil change. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism at the shop. One of the things that impressed me is the fact that they keep a photo record of future potential problems such as the current condition of belts, any leaks and tire condition. What a gem this place is. We came up from San Jose, hoping to purchase a car from a dealer near the shop. We brought the car here for a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) and are very happy we did. If you don't want to read the rest of this review, just read this - Steve is amazing! He is thorough, tenacious, and fair. I'd give him a 6 if I could! I brought him my 89 Ford pickup because it wasn't running or idling smoothly. This problem has be going on for a very long time. Two other shops and a Ford dealer were unable to diagnose and/or fix the problem. Steve was able to diagnose the problem after much troubleshooting. Since the bad part was no longer available, he volunteered to go to Pik N Pull to obtain a replacement. After he installed the replacement part, the truck idled much better, but it still continued to not run very smoothly. He determined that the computer (that had been installed by another shop) was not the correct one for my particular truck. He researched which specific computer belonged on my truck, found one online and replaced it. Problem solved!! I have owned the pickup for 8 years and it has never run as smoothly as it does now. I couldn't be happier!! I'm having Steve change the brakes on my Suburban tomorrow. read more

Using a friend's yelp cause I don't even have an account but needed to give props to this shop. You ask, "Are there any decent and truthful mechanics out there?". (Which is why you're on yelp looking up ratings for mechanic shops.) Let me say, Colton and Steve at Garage 47 are the epitome of honest. They were prompt upon checking out the car and within 30 mins had results on why my acura wasn't starting and sent an e-mail and a graph of what was wrong. It ended up being the starter. Got it replaced promptly, and were extremely courteous upon arriving to pick up the car. I will recommend my friends and family and anyone that even mentions a car problem. Very honest, they showed me pictures of exactly where my coolant leak was so I could see what they were telling me was accurate. They completed the repair and stuck to their estimate.
