This Gap Factory carries a nice assortment of attire--whether work or casual. I've purchased clothing from here in the past and was satisfied. Made a pit stop today for work pants. The trend seems to be wide leg and stretch waistband. I was willing to give these pants a try. At 30% off and $41, they fit comfortably and soft to the touch. Just left gap 10 mins ago and One of the worst client experiences ever. Sat in line for 20 mins got to the register, Hispanic gal that was wearing all black with a gold necklace on and nose piercing started ringing us up, didn't say a word we sat there for 10 mins... I finally said is something wrong? Will the items not ring?! And she glares at me and my partner and said yep, walked away and never came back... she started organizing hangars and staring at us with no communication .. like um ok... totally fine if the register isn't working but maybe tell us sorry let me figure out a solution. we sat there for another 5 mins and no one came up to us at the resister and others in line started to be helped before us. Finally another person walked up and said are you being helped? I'm like umm yeah we were but she just walked off and never came back. The lady helped us an we left. I bought something online and went to exchange it for a different size at this location. Floor staff were really friendly and I appreciated them. However, they couldn't exchange the item, they had to just return it and purchase the new item. The poor cashier didn't know how to do it and when she asked her manager for help he bullied me into signing up for their loyalty program and took the cashier's attention away from the customer to the point where she forgot to take the security tag off the item. Not her fault, though I had to cut the security tag off the item and sew it up myself! Please reassess your management priorities and focus on the customer's ACTUAL needs, not meeting a quota for applying to the loyalty program. I'm not exactly sure what the difference between at Gap Factory Store and a regular Gap is. Is it that they have Baby Gap, Gap Kids, and men's and women's clothes all in the same store? Because they do. Personally, I'm not an enormous fan of their clothes...but the selection is large, the staff was quick and helpful, and they do seem to be having pretty substantial sales on just about everything. They were even discounting pajamas covered in little foxes! I just wish they had them in my size. Babies are so spoiled. While holidaying in New York from Australia, I placed an order with GAP Factory. I even paid extra for the next day delivery. Placing my order on Friday, I expected in to arrive on Monday. Monday came and went - no order. Tuesday came - no order. The $122.22 had been taken from my bank account from Gap Factory. I contacted them and was told the item was never shipped as they didn't have any left in stock. I asked why they had taken my money then. I was told it must have been an error they made, but that they couldn't refund me, and that I needed to chase it up with my bank. My bank of course are saying there is nothing they can do, that it is up to Gap Factory to provide the refund. I've contacted Gap twice since my return and received the same response - so basically they took my money without having the item available to ship, have admitted this is the case.....but won't refund my money. I don't know what else to call this but theft. read more

I could kick myself! On my last visit the week of Thanksgiving, I found some really sweet looking, warm and comfy hoddies. They were half off and I paid $16.95 for one. I loved it so much that I practically lived in it and vowed to get more on my next visit. Today, the sign still said half off but mysteriously they were now $24.95. I COULD KICK MYSELF! I bought another one. I hope on my other visit I won't be subjected to another price increase sale making it $39.95 lolololo The store lacked merchandise though and we the customers simply perused the aisles looking like Will Smith in that movie where he was left behind. Note that this is an GAP outlet store not a regular store, so what you buy here must only be return in another GAP outlet. GAP is just a hick up Old Navy, the prices are so marked up that not even 50% discount is a good price. However, you can get good price if you wait for 40-50% off clearance items, which is more like a 75%. Charged yourself with patience when searching though as staff are very messy and disorganized. I work in the area and come once in a while to check out the sale clearance items. The 2nd floor is baby/kids stuff, they do have cute items and they're great when clearance sales. There is always a line at the register, it's usually 2-3 cashiers open. read more

Don't usually frequent this outlet but when I do, I always leave with an item or a few in hand. The prices are always easy on the wallet, and the sections are pretty organized, making it easy to find things. The one downfall is the line is long and tellers take their sweet time with customers, it should be in and out, don't lolygaggle with everyone because it just makes the waiting that much more unpleasant. read more

I don't know what's come over Gap Outlet recently, but they've really stepped up their game. In the past few months I've picked up a couple pairs of jeans, some realllly cute skirts and other misc basics. + The sales happening on a weekly basis are awesome (up to 60% off everyday). + Redesign of the store: women's clothing on the right, men's in the middle & kids on the left. + Even when its crowded there's always a dressing room open (there's probably 15 dressing rooms total) and usually a half dozen cashiers moving quickly up front. My only negative point is about the crowds at this store... its crowded allllll the time. Whether its a weekday afternoon, or evening expect a lot of people in the store. The best time I've ever visited was on a Sunday around 11 in the morning. Whatever time you visit- enjoy! read more

Such a convenient location, but they don't have a lot of sizes or variety. The most common size is a small. The clothes also seem to be lower quality than the regular Gap store. Most white shirts were see-through and the fabrics felt thin. You can find something decent in your size, but it might take some effort. read more

On point and a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The blocks that make up Downtown Brooklyn have been gentrifying before my eyes for the past 2 years. To be honest, I don't mind that this isn't a regular Gap. As a petite person, I've never had much luck with the standard Gap store and didn't shop there even when it was right across the street from me. The clothing quality is just as good as the regular Gap. The prices are right with anywhere from 20%-50% off items outside of their small clearance sections. It's also a happy medium between Jimmy Jazz across the street, Macy's down the block and Banana Republic on Montague. Contrary to popular belief, they do carry some of the same items they sell at the standard gap as well. I caught their vibrant skinny jeans at the front display table at regular price. They also have some pretty awesome print shorts I plan to go back and snatch up. Hopefully they'll be on clearance by then. The key to this store is keeping it a pristine and clean as possible. It will then continue to attract the diverse clientele that defines the DT BK neighborhood. I hope to see more stores like this one with the revamping of the Fulton Street mall. I hear Sephora is on its way too. This may start getting dangerous. read more

Awesome deals. Long lines (really, really long lines). Spotty customer service. But the deals will keep me coming back. I work in downtown Brooklyn, and have walked by the gap a kadrillion times and for some reason continued to buy my jeans at the 1969 Denim store in Soho (even though I hate Soho and shopping??). Sometimes I'm just a creature of habit - once something horrific (such as shopping) becomes familiar to me, I just stick to the places I know. Well, I finally broke free and went to the Gap Factory Store on my lunch break yesterday. Awesommmme prices - everything I bought was between 40% and 70% off the original price - and it was all in season. No sweaters and hats here, it was tank tops and dresses all the way (like Peter, I don't really understand what makes this a factory store?). There is also a good selection of sizes. I bought two dresses for work and three tank tops for under a hundred bucks. Uh-mazing. The only thing that really sucked about this experience was the line. Like I said, I came at lunch, and after trying everything on I only (hahahaha only) had about 20 min to stand IN line (oh and hello NY, it's *in* line, not *on* line... that's something that the internet does pffft). Eventually I had to ask a salesperson if they could hold my items until after work because I was going to be late. They said to bring them to the front first register. At the front first register, a manager was having a meeting with two employees. Instead of greeting me and asking me to hold on a sec (or better yet, just helping me), she continued her meeting for a couple of minutes before acknolweding my presence and taking my name. I wasn't certain she was paying attention, so I repeated my name three times. And lo and behold when I returned after work, my items were not under my name, and both dresses had been returned to the racks. Fortunately, the same manager was able to recover all of my items and was fairly friendly about it. But still. I knew that was going to happen the second I walked up to the register at one in the afternoon. Surrrisly. Alas and alack, the prices here are so great I will definitely be returning. As square as it may sound, I have loved the Gap since I was in 6th grade because they make some pretty basic, essential clothes that are fairly well made, albiet by small brown hands. After seeing Peter D.'s review I decided to check out this Gap Factory Store mainly because I was confused as to how or why a factory store was open in downtown Brooklyn. My friends and I have been known to make seasonal trips out to the outlets in Long Island or upstate New York to catch a few deals. The Gap Factory Store is usually one of he stores at these outlet malls. There's something about getting a deal. I totally thought that the Brooklyn location of this store was going to be overcrowded and messy. Maybe stepping in an hour before closing on the Saturday before Easter is the solution to his fear. No lines, helpful staff and cardigans for $14.99. Awesome! This new store won't replace my adventures to the outlets with girlfriends, but I'll add it into my rotation when in need of a pair of jeans or a new top while in Brooklyn. read more

Halfway through my shopping experience at this Gap, I realized it was a "factory store" in which everything fell into place. Disheveled racks, unorganized shelves, poor visual displays, and customer service is minimal. This is thrift store level. Keep it up, Gap. read more

I went in during lunch time - crowded but it wasn't a zoo. The staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful. My son tried on some clothes that didn't fit so they searched and brought the next size up while he was still in the dressing room. (So next time, if I can't find something I like in the right size I'll just ask the fitting room staff first) Saw the staff tidying the shelves and sweeping the whole time. They have a large selection baby/kids, women, and men's clothing (no GAP Maternity.) I saw tons of seasonal items on sale. The checkout line was long but I waited less than 5 minutes because all the cashiers were on duty. My son commented that this was the fastest clothing store and I'd have to agree! read more

Consider yourself in-for-frustration if you're anywhere on the Fulton Mall whatsoever. My god, what an annoying, irksome thoroughfare. You're heard of the 'Boulevard of Dreams' where Elvis, Marilyn, Marlon, and James Dean hang out? Call Fulton Mall the 'boulevard-of-bad-taste'. The skulking, menacing stooges on this street are a panoply of just that. If you drop a dollar on the sidewalk by accident, just let it go (you could get trampled, bending for it). Just sayin! Anyway so you cut your way down these sidewalks --dodging and weaving through the mongrel hordes--and hurl yourself through the doors of the Gap Outlet. But this is just the start of a very patience-trying shopping excursion. Oh, its a very 'pretty' store architecturally I suppose. Good security. Bright. Items are well-labeled. But its just very tiresome to shop in. High energy, blood-lust in the eyes of bargain-hunters. Always crowded; always a disheveled, sloppy throng. Bodies milling about with the classic New York "I don't know how to walk without throwing everyone else off" mental malady. A state of chaos reins as people dart forward and back, mosey the lanes in lazy curlicue patterns, or sometimes just stand stock-still dawdling in an aisle, oblivious to the furor going on around them. No one seems to be in charge or know what the rules are. All the staff have walkie-talkies but they can't seem to digest or absorb what's going on around them. If a garment falls off a hanger right in front of them to land at their feet, they stare at it for a good long moment before it dawns on them what to do. They wander around in as much a fugue as customers; their minds rotted by over-dependence on cellphones (frankly I think the only brain activity they can sustain is ogling their busty co-workers and scheming up ploys to get some romantic action). They exhibit no ability at all, to focus on the mundane, humdrum duties of textile-sales floorwalkers. Seriously, staffers are just useless here. In response to almost anything you ask them, the answer is 'no' or 'I don't know'. Shopping strategies? It's best if you know exactly what shelf your desired items reside on. Just zoom to it if you can. Quickly grab the article and hurry to a fitting room. Beware: 2nd flr fitting rooms can arbitrarily be closed off (!) at the whim of management. They don't want to pay a staffer to oversee fitting rooms when people can just be shunted to the ones downstairs. Great way to save money there, Gap. Anyway just get in-and-out as fast as possible, whether or not you find something which fits or not. Don't linger! Don't hem-and-haw! The terrible muzak and the careening, ricocheting bodies will drive you mad before you realize what's happening. Checkout: can be good or bad depending on who's manning the registers. You can encounter the shrill little-tin-god rule-mongers who insist you stand precisely where they want you to stand or you can get the "shrug-and-shake-my-head I don' care bout any o' dis" type. Anyway checkout is usually the least painful part of this Gap Outlet. Why that is? Don't know. Its just good to be on your way out the door. No apologies necessary to anyone for escaping in haste, either. Remember, you still have to get off Fulton Mall before you can take a deep breath. read more

recently wen to buy a pair of Jeans. Unbelievable offers. I got a 60% off on one of them and 50% on another. But it gets better. I had a coupon for another 15% that could be applied to clearance too. The thing is, it was a store wide sale... So after jeans i went to the t-shirt section. I really liked the star wars t-shirt that was 26.95$. I found it too expensive. But on sale it was just 10 bucks! Darth Vader surely lives on! Also check out the batman one and the grey traditional gap t shirt. The check out was not too big but it took a little while. Check out the 3$ flip flops. Man they are really good for 3$. I bought a couple of them too. Also if you spend 50$ you get a coupon for 25$! I mean niiice!!! Gap outlet usually disappoints me It was 50% off the entire store, except clearance items...which made regular priced items cheaper then clearance items when taking that 50% off. Their baby selection is very small. I did get a bunch of cute stuff, but I was disappointed with their pricing. I get better deals at the regular GAP. Be prepared to stand in line. The layout is pretty bad, so also be prepared to weave in and out of people! Check online for a coupon that might be floating around! Usually 10% off your order! read more

I have been shopping at gapes stores for many years, and I know that if you know when to come, you will be able to save a lot of money. It might not be the classic Gap store, but they have specials that cut the prices in half, and this is a celebration day for me ;) The staff here aren't the greatest, but I am used to that in this size of stores. Beside the prices, they do not carry all sizes, so you can easily find something you like, but you will not be able to find your size. I breezed in today and managed to find a pair of jeans that I've been searching for -- at the regular store and online -- and paid practically nothing for them. I have been here a few times but never really end up leaving satisfied (though that is the case with any shopping trip). It is a little cheaper than regular Gap, but the selection for men is pretty minimal. On one of my visits, I got a couple of pants at ~$30 per pair - not bad. They have a jeans section, a pants section, and a shirt/sweater/jacket section. It's worth stopping in to check out what they have, but not worth a special trip to it. The location is convenient so if you are in the Downtown BK area, stop by. I'm usually there are a trip to Dallas BBQ. If you like Gap, I would suggest shopping online and trying to find coupon codes - they often have these and so you can get their clothes at outlet prices but have a better selection. read more

It's a blessing and a curse that the Fulton Mall strip is within walking distance to my work. Now I have yet another excuse to go shopping when my wallet says otherwise. Among the many stores, the Gap Outlet is a favorite of mine. The inside is very clean, bright and organized. When I visited, the workers asked me right away if I needed any help and even searched for jeans sizes for me. There's a decent selection of items... and of course since it's an outlet, everything is discounted which is splendid. Gap Outlet sells items that will clothe you, but at the lowest quality possible. Think Gap look with kind of Old Navy quality. And that quality will last a year, maybe two. That's it. And if you're not skinny, go one size up on the pants. If you're a parent with small children, this is one of the best places to get a good deal on clothing for your growing children. I only recommend this place because you can take advantage of their offers that will allow you to save even more money. So when is it best to shop at this store? Weekdays. If you go on Sunday, go early. The store's busiest day is Sunday. I notice a lot of mothers with their children in tow while shopping there making the line on each floor very long. And those lines don't move as fast as a line in Chipotle. (Know what I'm saying?) read more

Worst retail store to work and shop in NYC ever .. I'm writing this about my personal experience I have had shopping at the gap outlet store in Brooklyn New York , I must say it was the worst store I've ever shopped in my life reason being the culture of the store are very unprofessional, and the most of the staff are nasty . where I came from and what I know associate advance basics on there talent but in this store it's all about popularity and favoritism within the store managers to employees . In details there isn't schedule associate base on traffic sales days in the store and the few associate they do have isn't enough for such a volume of a store . There is no confidentiality among the employees to manages even if it's personal or confidential. They discuss anything and everything on the sales floor and if you observe carefully the manager will take the discussion right back there peers It's so funny on a high traffic day or sale day , there is not enough associate schedule on the floor to assist customers ,Overall the company is a great company but 400 Fulton Street has lots of room for improvement . I really wanted to like this store but I just don't. They had a huge selection of GAP logo wear (like hoodies, t-shirts, sweatpants, etc) for an affordable price, which is nice if that's what you are looking for. Otherwise, the normal clothing selection was pretty lackluster as many of the clothes felt like they were made of low quality fabric. Another thing I disliked was that each rack said "On sale for $16.99," "50% off," etc. but the price tags on the clothing remained full price. You are pretty much left with a guessing game about how much each of the items costs once you take it off the rack. read more

I really loved visiting Gap Factory today. I loved walking up the stairs, to the second level children's section, with my two small children and their scooters behind the daring momma who single stepped bumped up with her double stroller. (God only knows how she got back down) I loved having two armfuls of merchandise hearing my kid say "bathroom momma" and then hearing "sorry we don't have a restroom". Awesome shopping experience.
