For someone with such simple taste in clothing, accessories, products and more, I am surprisingly particular. Well, it's a good thing this shop is here. They stock virtually everything a man might need from head to toe. And what's more? All of it is tasteful, stylish, and comfortable. The phrase "well-curated" was invented to describe this place. Even the music they are playing is well-curated. I needed to buy a gift card as I was looking at the gif cards the cashier comes over and says you need an ID to buy those which I found odd since I had not even said how I was paying, she continues to tell me I need an ID, Finally I pull out my ID and my Carters Credit Card and AFTER I swiped my card she said no you can't use the Carters card.. I found that odd.. So I walked out the store and I called the 800 number. Where it was stated to me that YES I can buy a gift card with my credit card and NO I don't need to show ID..I then proceeded to go back to the store to double check that i wasn't charged for the gift card since I had swiped my card. The cashier said well when you get your statement you will see if you got charge.. I told her absolutely not she was going to check right there and right now and I also informed them at that moment that was still on the phone with 800 and the tone changed quickl. I ended up going to another Carters with again ID and Card in hand and they sold me the gift card. So I visited this location a couple of days ago to return item's I ordered online. The store itself…read morewas neat, clean and smelled delicious, which is the reason for the 2 stars. I was also greeted upon entering. However, the customer service at the cash wrap sucked. I unfortunately was assisted by Kate who not only seemed like a liar but an airhead. Kate said she was unable to accept my returns because they were final sale. This was not noted when I placed my order and Kate admitted this flaw. She apologized and offered me a bag for the items that I attempted to return...which were already in a bag. Kate also suggested I instead return another "eligible" item from my order. This was a stupid suggestion bc if I wanted to return another item... I would've brought it with me to return. Airhead. Instead of a stand off I called Anthropologie's 800# and a rep was able to initiate my return by sending me a QR code and waving the return shipping cost ( yes Anthropologie is one of the few stores charging for return shipping). It was a waste of my time to go in store and my return be denied. What was accomplished over the phone should've been done in store. What was also troubling was that I was able to initiate a return online and generate a in store return slip, but Kate said she still wouldn't be able to accept my return. I'm not a big Anthropologie shopper...this situation although resolved does not make me keen on spending my money with them in the future. And... not to mention one of the items I wanted to return was listed as leather but it was cheap PVC...The audacity to not only mislabel the material but for it to originally be outrageously overpriced.
