    Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad
    Shawn M.

I've been here twice in the past 2 weeks for work and this place is amazing, really. I had the Dominican pizza and the chicken caesar salad with grilled chicken. Both freshly made, quick service and delicious. The restaurant is located inside of the Double Tree but if I was a resident I'd eat here just because. Shout out to the employees in the hotel and restaurant all friendly. Diego, the bartender, specifically was very helpful and personable. 10/10 recommend!

The service was pretty quick and our waitress was extremely friendly. The grilled cheese was actually really really delicious. Beware that the top of the bread might rub the inside of your mouth the wrong way, but it's totally worth it. The sweet potato fries were top tier and I wish I got more. I had a seasonal apple cocktail and it was excellent.

Sunday brunch was a huge disappointment. There were equipment problems in the kitchen so the buffet was the only option available. There was a very limited selection of fruits and breakfast items and to top it off, the coffee was weak. There were only three tables with guests yet my server seemed to want to rush me out. I'm not including photos because you need to see this buffet to believe it.

Hotel restaurants tend to be sub par and have the same SYSCO provided menu items... caesar salad, club sandwich, chicken wings and the like. Not here! Sure they have a burger... but this place specializes in local (or near local cuisine and the prices are great). What did I order from the lovely bartender? Well, first of all TOO MUCH. Fried cheese curds... (fricken amazing) and yes, I am a curd snob. Creamy chicken and Minnesota wild rice soup... not this will warm you up on those frigid Minnesota nights. Fried Walleye sandwich, in fairness... this was just too much food (although, it made a delicious breakfast). Happy Hour is a dollar off drinks and I think appetizers.

Ultra convenient if you're staying in the hotel and it's a typical Grand Rapids winter snow mess. Very nice environment and good service. Room service menu and menu on Google don't match what the restaurant menu is!

This place hides in plain sight. It's located in the hotel on the corner of 28th & Patterson. You go in the hotel lobby and take a left. The inside is very nice and upscale looking restaurant. I came here because they have a Root Beer BBQ sauce. I ordered the Bbq Bacon Burger and a half order of Sweet Chili Chicken Wings. The Hamburger has local bacon and fried cheese on it in addition to the Root Beer Bbq sauce. The burger was good, but nothing special. Above average but below very good I would say. The Root Beer Bbq sauce was good. Not sure I tasted Root Beer, but I liked it. The fries were also good and maybe the best part of the meal. However I grew bored of them by the end. There was alot of them. Lastly the wings were TINY, shamefully small. I have never seen such small wings. That being said they were good, cooked just right. The sweet chili sauce was tasty. The service was great. Helped by two people. Everyone was super friendly and helpfull. Overall everything was good but nothing was great. For this I would leave 3 1/2 stars, however due to the shamefully small wings I am deducting a star. Leaving 2 1/2, great service deserves a reward so adding a half star. So my rating for Ganders is 3 stars.

Easter Brunch at Ganders was a special treat! Everything was really well executed! Some of my favorite brunch items were the seared salmon , shrimp cocktail, and cheese cake, but everything was so delicious! There were so many different selections and the staff was so welcoming. We plan on being back for other Holiday Buffets!

Many brands were local that I'd never heard of before, and it was fun to experiment and try new things. Their food menu honestly shocked me with how tasty everything was. For a board game bar, I usually expect food to take a back seat or be phoned in, but everything was delicious! I had to try the elote deviled eggs, which was a combo I had never considered but I'm so glad someone did! I also got the truffle mac and cheese and a house salad. Both were excellent! The board game selection was extensive, with old favorites and hidden gems. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll be sure to stop in again!

Servers and bartenders have always been friendly--and fast. They know their cocktails and they're remarkably consistent with the mixes. My old fashioneds tasted the same every time I've gone. Very limited menu, but it'll do the trick when you're in a rush (or if the Lumberbaron Bar has already closed its kitchen). I like the pizzas, especially the mushroom. Don't let the name fool you. It also comes covered with savory cubes of bacon and fresh greens. It's good! I also like the wide open layout. You never feel crowded. Great place to spread out for a cocktail and light bite.

Afterwards, we went to the bar area and had a drink. The service here was impeccable. The food was delicious and the signature cocktails were delightful! The hotel itself is gorgeous and I was happy we got to experience it all decked out for Christmas!

It feels like fine dining but with a more casual flair to it. I joined the wine club on a whim and it has actually become something that I look forward to participating in every month! I have the two bottle variety membership, so I get to redeem two bottles and get two wine tastings a month for $49.95. I'm not a particularly huge wine drinker, but it's a really great deal since the rest of my family enjoys wine, so I use my membership for us to try different bottles, especially around the holidays. For the wine tasting, you get eight hefty pours per tasting, and I always go for the lux tasting, which is $5.30 if you have a membership. Everyone is so nice and they'll allow you to switch out what's on the list with something else if you know you don't like something that's on the tasting. They also run promos where you can redeem special bottles, or you can get extra points when redeeming bottles. I also appreciate the fact that you can redeem a bottle at your table if you dine in, which is great when my family and I dine in there. Their food is always fresh and delicious, and they're one of the few places that actually have a really great lunch menu. You can get lunch there for $20, which isn't such a common find anymore! We've always had a pleasant time dining/wine tasting, and it's quickly become a favorite stop for me.

A simple wine tasting turned into a very nice little date night. That seems to happen to us at Cooper's Hawk.
