GameTyme has the BEST Catfish fillets ever, I would like for them to get white MOSCATO as opposed to the pink YUK!

It started at 7pm. I arrived closer to 8pm. There were people there, and as the hour progressed more and more people showed up. I assumed the singing and such would have started on time. But when I left after 9pm... no singing had begun. When Inarrived a server asked did I want a menu, I said yes. But she never returned. So I sat drink less, food less. This making up in my mind I wouldnt be staying long. The place was rather spacious, clean, looked like a good time would be had(on another occassion). I actually want to go back one day and have SOME SORT of experience. It was a cozy spot. Pizza and wings. People were complaining about their drinks... but it was nothing I could personally give a tip or judgment on or about... no one ever served me. *shrug*

What to say 'bout Jack's.... I was "Benchwarmers" Years…read moreago... ahhh memories. Anyway, Jack's is a great little place with daily drink specials and an awesome set of cooks in back. Bartenders are frickin' awesome, and hook you up right. The beer is always cold and the mixed drinks are normally on point, sometimes a bit strong though but, who minds THAT? Food to get: Irish Nachos - Ho-Ly Jesus, talk about a loaded plate! Feeds at least 2 people. Pizza - one size one price 14" for $10.00 and pretty darn good. Jack Burger or Mini's - 'tis tasty, hot, juicy and delicious. What's cool: Svedka Pitchers - they're all good flavored pitchers but the lemonade one's my fave. Trivia on Mondays - always a decent crowd gettin' their knowledge on. Stuff to do: Pool (billiards if you prefer), Darts, Karaoke on occasion too. Aww man...: This may be a "woohoo" for some(not I). It's Illinois so you gotta smoke OUTSIDE. Mens room... meh, it's a mens room, it's kinda dirty(ish) but has soap 'n water. Beer - yup... this bar has beer. Needs to add some local brews though, just sayin' This bar is kinda like Cheers... become a regular and it's "Where everybody knows your name..." except that one guy...

I went into the bar area to relax, have a drink, and enjoy some food. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Erika L., the bartender, was very rude and appeared to have an attitude while I was placing my order. I was interrupted and cut off in the middle of giving my order, which ultimately resulted in my order not being entered correctly. When my drink was brought to me, it was placed down in what felt like an unnecessarily aggressive manner. When Erika realized the order was incorrect, she rolled her eyes. I asked her if she was okay because of the way I was being treated, and she responded that the bar had just opened and then walked away from me. At that point, I asked to speak with a manager because I wanted to address the situation appropriately. I was told that the manager was off and that there was no manager there. As a longtime customer, I found that extremely disappointing, especially when I was trying to address a serious customer service concern. What made this experience even more upsetting is that I could not help but feel that the way I was treated may have been influenced by the color of my skin. I cannot say what was in the employee's mind, but the treatment I received left me feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. I honestly do not believe I would have been treated the same way if I were Hispanic. If the bar had just opened and there were limitations on service, all that needed to be said was that the bar was not fully ready or that service would begin shortly. I would have understood. There was no reason for me to be treated with an attitude or made to feel unwelcome. After more than 10 years of being a customer, this experience has completely changed how I feel about returning. I believe every customer deserves to be treated with basic courtesy and respect, regardless of their race or background. I should never have to feel like a server does not want to serve me. This was a horrible and deeply disappointing experience. Unfortunately, after being a loyal customer for so many years, I will no longer be returning.

We thought we would have to wait till we drove to Chicago for good food. This place is welcoming, charming and modern. I ordered the sea bass with vodka pasta and my husband the lamb lollipop with roasted potatos. Both were 10/10. We are very picky and self proclaimed foodies. For dessert we shared the tiramisu. It was good. 9/10 for small size and a tiny bit dry. The flavors were well balanced though. We sat on the Fiori side but had a choice of sitting on either side and can order from both menus. What a great concept.

Their standard menu does not feature their vegan options, so we had to wait for the waitress to come back around again to ask for this. Unfortunately, the Vegan Chicken Breast was crossed off, so I'm not sure if that will be coming back. I went with the Vegan Reuben, a reliable standard, but it was terribly disappointing. It prompted me to pull up my photos from our previous dining experience there, and the sandwich looks so much more unappetizing. The current sandwich is wet, pale, and oddly sweet. The color and texture are so different, so I'm not sure what they've changed from their original recipe.

Their most popular beers (ZD and Gumballhead) were available in Wisconsin, so I've tried both when I lived there. The brewery began in 1996, and moved to its current location (Munster, IN) in 2000. They opened a brewpub in 2005, and this was the destination my wife and I were heading for, as we were seeing a relative that night but had arrived early. Unfortunately, I didn't get the memo, as the brewpub has been closed since 2020 (that's six years ago), which is now blindingly obvious as I read more information about the brewery on my computer while researching for this review. Luckily, the folks working there were exceedingly kind, appreciating that we had come a ways to visit. Their small retail store is open, and we were able to pick up some merch (mostly stickers), a pack of playing cards ($12) as well as a six pack (in bottles) of their Robert the Bruce Scotch Ale (I knew about this beer but never had a chance to try it...quite good, especially for $11 for a six pack). I had also picked up some Scotch Ale earlier in the trip (Warped Speed from Lake Louie Brewing) so this trip was becoming beneficial to add to my beer collection at home...now need to find Founders Dirty Bastard (which is sold in my area) as well to have 3 of the Scotch Ale variety that I've tried and enjoyed. It was clear to the employees that we talked to, that they like the brewpub to reopen but don't know of any plans to move forward. 3 Floyds is doing quite well, expanding their distribution business, so sounds like that's the focus. There were many stories I found about plans to double the size of the brewpub and open a biergarten adjacent...but they were from 2023. As of now, couldn't find any other stories explaining the lack of movement since then.

What has happened to Hooters?…read more Love the decor, Hooters buffalo sauce, and what used to be a clean, fun environment. Its just not that anymore. :-( For a while now it seems like staff reluctantly serve serve clients while otherwise running the business. The kitchen screams at the top of their lungs at waitresses, dirty dishes are thrown into tubs in the floor with a crash and splattering food, and service is mediocre most days. I stop by this location 1 to 4 times a month. Not a regular but not a stranger by any means. Today (4/12 @1p) I stopped in and the restaurant was 1/2 empty (for reference). Their was one couple ahead of me who was waiting for the rest of their party (of 6) to arrive. After standing near them for a couple.of minutes I asked the hostess if I needed to put my name in (since I wasn't sure if she knew I wasn't with the other couple waiting for their friends). The reply I got was an eye roll and a "Just wait..." and a few minutes later was told "you can follow me" with an attitude that screamed she was annoyed I was there. She brought me to a table where plates were being dropped into a bin with a crash right behind me. I politely asked if I could have a table away from the waitress service area. She said (with a eye roll and attitude) "No... no other tables are available..." in a half empty restaurant. In fact, the table one further from the original one was empty and one across the row was empty. Even if this was technically a other waitstaff area, it would have taken two steps to get or it. Sorry... between the 'warm greeting', eyebrolls, and ridiculous response to asking for a table away from smashing dishes and flying leftovers, I am worth worth more than that. A mile away I enjoyed Buffalo Wild Wings with friendlier staff, more TVs and more variety. Get it together Hooters... you are loosing your way. Hope you find your way home.
