Service is terrible. Bartenders have attitudes. Not a friendly place to be. Drinks not worth paying for. It's 65 degrees outside and windy they have all the doors and windows open. After asking to close them they refused

This bar deserves a excellent review I've never had a bad Burger I've never had bad food the cooks make great burgers. The help is awesome shout out 2 MISSY, LIZZ, AND CHARDONNAY Keep up the good work you did great and Missy your service was top-notch. It's a bar and grill it's in what was formerly a medical plaza and most of the places have gone out. but I'm really impressed with this place I've been here a total of 10 times. Every time I've been there I've left happy and I've left full. The bad Yelp reviews are just wrong and I can be very critical of a business but I have nothing bad to say about this place.

Pork and Beef tacos are good... maybe not $6.25 good but, good.

Lot's of potential here... I can see why some of the reviews aren't stellar but, I think it's more than a 1 star place. Here's the skinny: Parking lot is in the back. Service- spotty but, got better eventually. Drinks aren't bad, "What's a French Martini?" Beef & Pork Tacos were pretty decent, pricey though. I don't know exactly what to make of this place... I was expecting a corner bar 'n grill because of this picture - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/markos-bar-and-grill-munster?select=5J11TZURNIf3DDb-d9CkLg . Nope, it's in a small mall. Gotta park in the back, and walk through the courtyard - not much fun in the freezing rain. To me the parking lot looked kinda sketch... don't know why just did. When I first walked in it took a while to be noticed even though there were 3 or so bartenders and an abundance of empty chairs... wasn't off to a good start. Eventually I was asked if I've been helped yet, nope... the first bartender, though energetic was pretty forgetful. I asked for a menu... 10 minutes later I get it. "Must've given it to the wrong guy" OK... considering there were so many people (20ish tops) I ignored that. The second bartender(shift change) was a lot better, she seemed a little bit older, wiser and was more on the ball. She noticed when drinks were empty, ashtrays full, people were ready to order... cool beans. First drink I wanted - French Martini, they didn't know how to make it. OK... not that kinda place, Tanqueray & Tonic it is. T&T was ok, first one was weak but, they also got better(shift change). They have a good selection of beers too, Fat Tire, Gumball Head, Blue Moon etc. and of course the standards too - Miller and all that. I thought the food was pretty good, at least the Tacos were. I don't know about $6.25 good but, good. It's 3 tacos, loaded up with some cheese, lettuce, tomato and grille onions. No sour cream or hot sauce brought/offered though... Picture - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/markos-bar-and-grill-munster?select=libviNb6t5VQMSdPtyJqWg The meat was flavorful enough and not greasy at all, though it was a bit heavy on the Cumin, I did like the grilled up onions though. I'm not sure how to describe this place. The bar itself is backlit in pink... there's a shuffle board table, Plenty of TV's with good quality picture. The uniforms are something else... black, short skirt, triangle opening in the back... bartenders and waitresses are kinda "punky" I guess, which is not something I've seen in bars around here. It all kinda goes together... if anything it feels like the Disco Era dying and transitioning to the (Real)Punk Rock Era... Some like it some don't, personally I kinda do. As far as the first 2 reviews go... I didn't think any of the staff was "rude" per se, a bit forgetful maybe but, not rude. At least when I was there for a quick bite and drink after work. My bar tab seemed legit, $21.40 for Tacos and 3 Tanqueray &Tonics. I'll be coming back, it's definitely got big potential. They Just gotta pull it together a bit on the service I think. If they do that, this place can be pretty awesome. SYOY

Horrible service. This place could be a great bar if they had better bartenders. They either need re training or an attitude check.

I had a bloody mary this afternoon. One from Brittney and one from Cheryl. They were amazing! Better than the ones I have in vegas.

I figured since 3 Floyd's Brewing is not really open to the public, per se. And the Dark Lord Day…read moreis its own entity I would specifically review it on its own merits. I must preface by saying I have wanted to do this event for a long, long time. But alas work has made it nearly impossible to do. Time becomes a commodity as you get older. It's do or die. The latter is inevitable. Not knowing how this festival works I studied Yelp reviews. I joined a DLD Facebook to find helpful tips. Both were extremely helpful. It is basically a musical festival, a giant bottle share and people dressed as warlocks all in one. There are three levels of admission: VIP Deluxe, GA and one with just for the concert. Depending on your budget each has it pros and cons. Me, my suggestion is to get the VIP Deluxe. It is crazy expensive and goes fast. However, I believe it is the best option. So I got the regular GA, which is $200 hundred bucks. You get 4 DLD variant stouts and admission to the concert. Maybe to the casual festival goer this will seem alot. Once you get here you will experience something unique. A week or two before the event happens they mail you wristbands. Do not put them on. There is a QR Code which you have to attach a credit card to. It is a cashless event. It's just like the Sail and Sign on a Cruise Ship in theory. As you buy drinks, merch or food you use the wristband to pay for them. A quick few pro-tips. Do not bring lawn chairs. Know that you are going to stand most of the time. Before I go on, let me rewind a bit. The parking situation is not dire but get there as early as you can. Local businesses offer parking for $20 bucks. We were able to find parking within walking distance to the festival. Here came the kicker for me, they had a guy doing a DLD tailgate party. It's like a normal tailgating party but with free to sample beers. He had things I have only heard of in tales of lore. My next pro-tip is to bring a small plastic sample glass. Once you arrive staff is there to put on your wristbands for you. And they check all ID'S. You are allowed to bring in some beer and an unopened bottle of water. Bring the water! I will say the logistics and mechanics of it run really smoothly. The staff are extremely super friendly and helpful. Having only seen 3 Floyd's in pictures it is more vast than I had imagined. Every nook and cranny was filled with something of interest. There were tap spaces everywhere. Vendors. Food trucks. In the center of it all was a Viking Court, with the largest bottle share I have ever seen. They had a thing called, "The Wheel of Death." For twenty-five bucks you spin a wheel similar to "Wheel of Fortune." You can win beer, merch or even your name etched onto a keg. I thought about doing it but the wait was already a couple of hours in. Most of your time here will be spent standing in line for something. For beer. Food. Restrooms. The merch lines were insane. Fortunately for you when this happen there are lots of people dying to share their brought in beer. I will say a great deal of the drinks I had were from beer sharers. For the most part festival goers were friendly. However, there is finite seating here. Which makes the VIP Deluxe option more enticing. After a while I wanted to sit somewhere. Since seating is sparce I saw groups monopolizing available benches. For example a bench that could fit ten people was instead filled with 3 harboring stuff. You would eye a bench and people would place a hat, a bag to prevent you from sitting with them. I get it. My biggest critique is that they need to let festival goers bring in folding chairs. For example I saw people in various stages of drunkenness: stumbling or even passed out. Letting people bring in folding chairs would allow them to cool down. It would also create a more laid back vibe. It certainly has the space to do so. Quickly before I write more volumes the musical entertainment is extreme metal. The dance floor is filled with moshers and headbangers. If you are expecting bossa nova jazz you will be disappointed. By and large I did enjoy this event. Will I recommend it to someone? Absolutely. Will I do it again? Probably not. It's a young person's world now. The Dark Lord Day is a very, very unique experience. And I believe we should fill our lives with them. Was that a dude dressed as a wizard at the festival or was it in fact Gandalf? After a few stouts you won't know the difference.

I returned here with the son on 5-18-2024 for 2024's Dark Lord Day.  It was actually the first time…read moreI've made it here for the annual and coveted event as the only other time I came for Dark Lord was with him for an atypical Covid era pickup only event. The event is pretty pricey and it's definitely a beer geek special as it costs $200 for admission plus rights to a tote bag containing one 2024 Dark Lord and three Dark Lord variant bombers (each 22 oz).  This year was the 20th anniversary Dark Lord Day and they've been doing it for a long time and it's very organized, at least as far as making sure you're credentialed for admittance.  It will still cost $15 - $30 to park nearby, but they do have some shuttle buses to remote parking locations.  We got there at 9am for our pre-purchased Group A designated time slot but later in the day, there will be more people, with more lines for everything, including the few foodstands on site.  I can't imagine any lines for port-o-potties though as there were millions of those and that's a good thing.  Heavy metal bands were scheduled to play from 1:30pm to 8pm, but we didn't stay for any of that.  I just had a nice 4 oz serving of the 2024 Dark Lord (for $10) while we were there and then we left with the goods.  We stood briefly in a line next to a couple that flew in from San Jose CA just for the event.  One staffer also told me a guy came in from Italy supposedly just for this event.  I really did enjoy the people-watching of these quite serious beer geeks, and that was probably the real highlight of visiting in person on this special day.  My only advice if you're going to a Dark Lord Day for any length of time on a sunny day is to bring a hat, sun screen, and a designated driver!
