Wiley's Grill, thanks for the Fantastic Fare!!!! Stepped in for lunch, and so happy we did!!! Our Server, Maggie, was warm and inviting and truly attentive. My Hubby ordered the Burger and the Sweet Potato Fries based on Maggie's suggestion. I ordered the Shrimp Gumbo, which was delicious, the Chef did their thing!!! I also had the Shrimp Avocado Salad with Bacon and a House Ranch Pesto Dressing!!!! Let's get into this salad, the explosion of flavor from the dressing and the seasoned shrimp is noteworthy, my only suggestion is I think a Romain lettuce will allow those flavors to truly marinate on the palate better than the bitter planty taste of the leafy mixed greens!!! Maggie gave me a to go cup with my Pesto Ranch Dressing, she gets a gold star and we will certainly be back!!!!!! Don't miss out on Willey's Grill located on Kedsie in Homewood. The restaurant is located on the property of Coyote Run Golf Course , but open to the public, it feels like a log cabin, has a large bar area and ample seating. I'm a warm weather outside kind of girl and wanted to be outside eating dinner tonight.. I googled and Wiley's Grill in Homewood came up at 4.6 stars. The food looked good but was just ok simply ok. There were only two servers and the service was terrible and the server Maria seemed annoyed with us because she was stressed out because she was overwhelmed. It took her literally 15 minutes to bring water and menus another 15 minutes to take our order. Then once most people left her attitude changed.. well honey it's too late you already ruined my first experience. BUT the outside sunset ambiance was EXACTLY what I needed.. It was beautiful. I had a margarita it was simply ok nothing spectacular.. I also had the sliders and a side order of fries.. I don't like Red Gold Ketchup I'm a Heinz girl.. the friend that was with me had a chicken Caesar salad and mozzarella sticks that looked like egg rolls. He said his items were decent. Overall the experience was simply ok.. I would only recommend for the view and the peace.. I do appreciate they did apologize for the wait and our patience but it still was the nasty attitude for me that didn't make the apology go a long way.... read more

As a supporter of small businesses, we are very sad to give this once favorite restaurant of ours a poor rating. Food and service has taken a nose dive. Charged for a drink that was way too strong after giving instructions to make it weaker. They tried to make it weaker by adding more cranberry juice which didn't work. No effort to credit our bill was made, so,instead of making a big fuss, we decided to pay the whole bill instead. We also did not receive water or an offer to bring a bowl of water for our small pup was made. Food was a big disappointment as well and not what we had come to expect from them. Not sure if they have a new cook or not but we will think twice about returning. We had been a huge fan of this restaurant for a long time and have referred many of our friends who have become frequent customers. The ambience was the only saving grace. read more

Wiley's is a little Gem tucked away near the wonderful Coyote Run Golf Course. The staff are wonderful, attentive, and personable. The place is very cozy, warm, and inviting as well as comfortable. They have TVs throughout playing different sport channels. The bar makes an AMAZING, and what I think is the BEST sour Amaretto I've ever had, and I've had many, it's my favorite drink. And an extra plus, it was served in a nice sized glass that wasn't packed to the rim with ice like all other places that serve this drink, usually in a tiny glass. Their pulled pork sliders are my favorite, there mouthwatering, flavorful , and the ultimate comfort food. (now I want one, lol). The chicken quesadillas are yummy, salsa and chips are freshly made. They also have fried pickles, I've never had them before, I was very reluctant to try one but they were actually pretty darn good, kind of reminded me of fried green tomatoes. My first experience wasn't great, but I gave it another try and WOW. We were a party of 7 and everything was quick and fresh and quite tasty. Our drinks never reached the bottom without our waitress checking on us. They were polite and helpful with meeting the needs of special diets and allergies. We weren't easy, and I know that. But they never acted that way. Both the kitchen and the wait staff double checked to make sure they understood and got it right. EVERYTHING tasted fantastic. We will be back. Quiet out of the way spot perfect for an after work cocktail and a bite. Honestly, it's the ambiance that make it special. It is so relaxing to have a drink on the patio overlooking the golf course. I have rarely seen it crowded unless there is a special event. They often have live music inside and that can generate a crowd. The hours are shorter than you would expect for a watering hole. They close at 8:30. I'm told that has something to do with their relationship to the park district, but whatever the reason it's kind of nice. It attracts adults. There will be no "going for one drink" and then somehow stumbling home in the wee hours (we've all done that right? not just me??). Pop in have a couple drinks and go home. As for the food, I can say while there's nothing particularly remarkable, I have yet to have a bad bite here. The menu is appetizers, salads, sandwiches and pizza. We usually gravitate toward the apps: fried pickle spears ($8.25) with ranch are delicious but eat them fast - soggy spears are no good, Angus beef sliders (3 for $10.75) are always juicy and well seasoned - you may even want to order 2, The big Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese ($10) an absolute must. If you're looking for a low key place to catch up with a friend or unwind after the day from hell, give them a try (and you'll be home in time for the nightly news!) read more

Delicious food, great service and we have always enjoyed Wiley's! You get fresh food, lots of it, many different options be it appetizers, salads, main foods, dessert, awesome coffee and desserts and very reasonable prices. Best fish fry in the south suburbs! Fridays only during lent, beer battered cod served with delicious mango coleslaw and your choice of regular or sweet potato fries and fresh rolls which remind me of the rolls I had at my favorite childhood restaurants. Other selections sound good but I enjoyed the fish fry so much I have to order it every time it's available. Beer selection is good. Wiley's also has a nice friendly atmosphere with views of the golf course. read more

I will say this: Easter Brunch was good. I will also say this: if you're expecting a return email to the email that you have sent them, HA! They will never respond and then they offer a weak ass apology. They lost my business for Mother's Day brunch. Not my fault that they did not respond. Poor customer relations. Ewww. The menu is a bit thin but everything is prepared superbly! Never had a bad meal, the Cobb Salad with grilled chicken is awesome! My only issue is that the wait staff can get really busy and service on refills and such after meals are delivered can be a bit slow, but wait staff is excellent not their fault. A bit noisy during golf season so I like going later in the evening or on rainy days. I'm a fan for sure. read more

Shhh. The is the best place to eat outdoors in the summer. There, I just gave away a local secret. Try Taco night or the fish tacos. Ribs are good, sandwiches are good. Met one of the rudest bartenders in the business. Definitely not customer oriented. Customer service is a shit show. I'm dying laughing right now. I asked the bartender his name when he asked me to leave for blowing my nose and refused to put his name behind his actions which is a clear indication his actions were easily questionable. After I calmly asked for his name he threatened to call the police for requesting it. God must have a sick sense of humor because this is an absolute joke. Words cannot describe how far his mind went up his booty hole. I've worked in the service industry all my life. This dude taught me new meaning to the words douche bag. For that I thank him. In his defense he probably was looking for reasons to take his shitty life out on someone by acting like his manufactured authority had any meaning to me. He found just the right target when he laid eyes on me. Funny thing is his boss will likely read this and believe his word over a paying customer. Karma is a strange bitch. Shari and her staff @ Wileys are amazing. The food is delicious. We had our rehearsal dinner there and Wiley's catered our vow renewal. Everything was excellent. The staff is very professional and friendly. James is a very hard worker and made me feel @ ease. He even offered to get me my plate, whatever I want he can do it. Shari is so sweet and helped out with whatever I needed, even if it didn't have to do with catering. She threw in a couple extra touches that made our day that much more special. Absolutely dreadful. 3 people working 6 tables in the entire place but everything took forever. Clearly none of the employees had any restaurant experience and could not multi-task what so ever. The burgers had to be sent back 2 once for being incorrect and the second time for the buns being cold. The fries were soggy and barely even a portion. The grilled watermelon salad was excellent and worth a trip, as long as you have low expectations. The one thing I learned from that trip was that the HF park district should stick to parks and leave restaurants and service to the professionals. read more
