I called the shop earlier in the day and spoke to Phil, he gave me a great initial impression, very friendly and told me they're on the 2nd floor of the quadrant and can be a bit difficult to find. He also advised a flood had occurred, they're still open and operational, but if the hallways look weird, don't be alarmed. Lol I highly recommend doing a quick Google search on the map to see the general idea of where to go. Once parked at the double tree, simply walk to the left of the building, you'll see a sign for events meeting place and a sign for a radio station, go past the station for the 2nd door and you'll find a set of stairs. Once you go up the stairs, walk down the hall and it should be the first door on the right. Suite #215 The reason for my visit was to get a second opinion on my uncle's stamps. I received them about 20 years ago and they'd been sitting in bags in storage ever since. Trying to navigate eBay with coins or stamps is a whole nother ballpark and figured I should go to the best! As expected, the collection isn't really worth more than $25 for about the 2700 ish cancelled stamps. But it was nice to have Phil recognize that I was the one that called, treat the album well, and give me an honest answer. While I was at the shop, I believe his son, Victor walked in and apologized in regards to the album being of low value. We also had a great conversation on other collectibles, such as Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic, Sports cards, video games and the like. I've been searching for ages for a shop or at least someone willing to allow me to bring in the 3-4 monster boxes of sports cards I have. I got a firm "bring them in, we'll take a look". Today's venture wasn't just about getting an appraisal for my stamps, it was more about, where can I go for future guidance with collectibles. Compared to my recent visit with Maryland Stamps and Coins (Bethesda), Geezer's Tweezers is absolutely what I was looking for. Terrible customer service from the older men and they take their smoke breaks at the entrance. The only nice employe is a younger woman. Figurines are bootleg, nothing with official seals but will range 200+ dollars! INSANELY overpriced pokemon cards, scalper pricing!!! Not a safe space for women, I will not be returning.

** 6 Year Updated Review **…read more Well well well! What a difference a few years make! For starters, they moved a mile up to a much smaller location. Great free parking. Great customer service carried over from last location. That's it. The in store items are 80% less than previously. Some aisles are bare. Literally can barely get anything here due to super low inventory. I don't know what else to say. I'm highly dissapointed.

The Society was founded in March 1932 and is the oldest exclusively model railroad club in the United States. They maintain 2,500 square feet of model railroad displays of steam and diesel freight and passenger trains and trolleys, plus so much more. It was fun to see all the parts of the display - it really gives you a glimpse into the history of railroading. It is not easy to find, as the doorway is tucked into the left front center of the building and the society is located on the third floor with no elevator. The display is normally open on the second Sunday of each month, except May.

But none of that matters when it comes to quality of service and craftsmanship, which is why I take all my vintage audio gear here. The owner/tech Cal is able to custom machine pretty much any mechanical replacement part, which you just don't see anymore. I had a shop "repair" a broken spindle on a reel to reel using JB Weld epoxy. Needless to say, it didn't last and I ended up at Odenton, where Cal machined a replacement spindle which works perfectly. Cal had been doing this for 50 years, starting out helping his dad when he was just a kid- you can take that to the bank. And speaking of the bank, Odenton has honest prices and won't b.s. with the diagnosis either. I know enough about receivers/amps to know when someone is blowing smoke up my butt. Another shop (in VA) quoted 1k to repair what was an obvious power supply issue on a CR-1020. They started throwing out a bunch of terms in ways that didn't make sense and I knew it was just a money grab. Took it to Odenton and they rebuilt the power supply for much less, and it sounds great. Highly recommend for vintage audio repair.

When I found Cal & Sharon and entered their storefront the first time, I knew I was in the right place to have my 1970's era Pioneer receiver recapped. Cal confirmed my belief when I showed him a part in my hand that I thought would be helpful and he simply looked at it and said, "that's not the right part but I can find it and it will be cheaper than you can get it." Repairing these is first a hunt for the parts that takes time but once Sharon called and told me they had all the parts, it was less than a month until I was picking it up. When I was picking it up I also learned they had a CD player for sale that I was interested in and they offered it at a great price so of course I bought it on the spot! I can't wait to reassemble my system with the repaired receiver and newly acquired 300 CD player plus the vintage turntable I acquired a year ago.
