Poor customer service and support. Accompanied my granddaughter to trade up her Nintendo and stayed back to let her basically let them know what she wanted. She decided to trade up and I chipped in the balance so was next to her as he told her how to transfer old games from device she was trading. He gave wrong information so had to go back to the store at which point he denied missing the important information so I stepped in to say what was actually presented and he lied over and over and became very angry because he knew he was wrong. Customer service then included the so called manager who let the employee continue to escalate his tone and manner. Could write much more but just a heads up, don't trade there if you want the correct help when needed. That is there trade mark but so to speak but they sure don't express it in any way. read more

I've been trying for 4 weeks to buy 1 single booster box for myself. Each week I'm told the same thing, "get here esrly only one per customer!" Well I did that and what I saw was scalpers in the parking lot tellibg people what to buy, going in, buying, and then selling in the parking lot. I'm done. I quit games, card collecting, all of it. This is ridiculous that you will do nothing about actual customer wanting to buy stuff but can't because you're hyper focused on short term customers. Well done GameStop, well done. read more

In our new world where customer service is lousy or doesn't exist. GameStop has given me a little hope that customer service does still exist. My 11 year used his report card money, bought a used game at a location in Scottsdale, and got a game that wasn't compatible. The devastation, was the worse thing that ever happened to him. In try to fix this I called both locations, 30 minutes before closing. The man on the phone said we could bring it back, for a refund. He also checked to see if they had a game that would be compatible with the old system, they didn't and it wasn't available. We asked about streaming it. This associate walk us through how to do this. I know little about gaming. He took the time just before closing to help. He was patient and informative. This was so appreciated! walked in looking to buy a box of Pokemon cards. when I asked if they have any available the guy looked at me like I was speaking a different language and after repeating it for the 3rd time he said no he doesn't have any besides the 1$ cards. okay, so I go look over there, find a ufc box I figured I get with some card sleeves. "phone number?" I don't give that out. "why?" because I just don't. "you know about the discounts, 5$ off, etc.?" yupp, I don't give my number out man. "not sure why you don't give your number out but we don't spam call/text you or anything like that, just so you know" that's cool man, just ring me up and let me leave. to the gamestop executives that see this 1 star review, the employee was doing his annoying job that you're forcing him to do creating an abysmal customer experience. in a world of 2FA, fraud, and deceit, if I choose to not give my number out - I do not care about your quarterly reports and "pro members" numbers - respect my decision and let me go on my way. you're an already failing business model, and pestering the people coming into spend money just so you can squeeze out a few more dollars from "omnichannel presence" will be the nail in the coffin. to the employee, ik you're just working man and good job I respect it. to corporate, understand i will just buy anything additional from another company online. side note: why don't you just make consistent pricing across the board instead of putting the costs of discounts provided to "pro members" to your customers that aren't apart of your gym membership type scheme? read more

The service was horrible. I placed an online order thinking it went to this store (it went to baseline a few miles down instead) and asked to picked up an order. I've ordered from this store before and the lady with curly black hair pulled up a slip from weeks ago, rudely saying "you've already picked up your order." I tried explaining that was from weeks ago and pulled up the order details on my phone. I held it out for her for a minute or two, and she never stopped what she was doing to look at it or help me. After holding out my phone I realized the store was different, i've made a mistake, and left. THIS LADY CALLED THE OTHER STORE TO WARN THEM OF MY "free scam" ATTEMPT. Do not order your collectibles from gamestop. my figures are marked as delivered in the game stop app but I never received them and after I've been in contact with getting either a refund or my figures sent out they have completly ignore me and refuse to set things right. I have been buying TVC figures from them for the last 6 years but with this horrible customer service. I will never order from them again. read more

I bought a game TODAY and it wasn't what I thought it would be so I tried to return it. Marlin wouldn't let me return said game. On the receipt I got, it states preowned games can be returned after SEVEN days so why wouldn't he let me return it because it was "Pre-owned". The only good thing was the fact he said he'd do it this ONE time as a "favor" but me and my friend who was with me received dirty looks the entire time we were in store. read more

I bought an Xbox series s and went to return it 2 days later because of a defect and they denied my refund. they said that you cannot return open items yet it says on the receipt that you can return defective items. They fought with me until they said they could replace it with a new one. I said okay and when they brought it out they had opened the box before giving it to me so that way I couldn't return it. this is the worst case of customer service I've ever dealt with. there was multiple workers there and none of them did or said anything. Not even apologize for the inconvenienc. read more

BUYER BEWARE. Terrible assistance in Black Friday. Very rude and unprofessional associate named Scott employee number 631319. He was terrible as a sales man and tried to bundle in 350 worth of accessories that I didn't need. He included a warranty on all my items without explaining them or mentioning them. When I asked him if I could buy just what I wanted he simply said if you dont want it I'll just sell it to that guy. Very rude and terrible salesman ship skills. I ended up returning all the items at a different store. A different manager at a different store said she is aware of forced bundling and I would have to go back to that store for a return. Nowhere in the receipt does it say there is bundle pricing. Bundling is a great sales technique however when it is added without customer consent that is bad practice and most likely churn or will get returned. He also made an offensive comment about me to the next customer in line which happened to be my friend that I waited in line with for 2 days to get the ps5. I have always loved coming to this game stop with my husband and we have always been treated fair and with respect. I like to write reviews whether the experience was good or bad I personally hate the people that all they is write negativity and up until yesterday we loved going the there to check out games and other equipment. But last night we went in just to see some prices on things we wanted to trade in. Knowing we wouldn't get much we didn't have high expectations but when the salesman treated us disrespectful, rudely and like we were wasting his time it really left a sour taste in our mouths we couldn't leave fast enough. We will still shop here but probably do more things online than we had in the past. read more

Not one of the GameStop's I'm pleased with. They have longer hours on Sundays than other stores, and they may sometimes have better used games than others, but the staff lets the store down. They may be knowledgable but they are not "trusted advisors," they are salespeople. read more
