I just downloaded yelp just so I can write a review because I'm shaking I'm so angry. Because of how I was treated and overcharged, I will never go back to GameStop for the rest of my life. I went in there to get some games for my kids and my daughter wanted a toy. We go up to the checkout and everything starts off fine but we go up to the checkout and he asked my daughter if she found a toy that's better. he didn't explain anything he just asked if she could find another toy so she gets another toy that she didn't even want but then he said that if I buy one I get 1 50 percent off.And as he was scanning myself, he goes let's see what discounts we can give you. When it came to my total, the math was not mathing whatsoever it was way more expensive than it should've been. It should've been $77 and it was $115. I pulled out my Calculator just to make sure that I wasn't crazy and I wasn't too tired before I said something because I don't wanna say something and attack somebody and be wrong. he keeps telling me that he charge me six dollars for a membership which I told him four times. I did not want that membership and he pressured me into something that I didn't wanna do but he told me that I would get a huge discount if I did it but $115 versus 77 it's not a discount he was way over charging me.. and I'm looking also at the receipt that I'm being overcharged in the game that I was buying said $42 and he was charging me $50 for it and the price tag did not say $50 and that's not the pro price, 42 was the price . So I keep saying to him how is my total this high? And then he told me that the price tag on the video game was not right but the price tag said $42. It is illegal to charge somebody more than what they're advertising their price for and I'm so mad at the situation that I'm going to take it further.... So the discount that they were supposedly giving me, they were ovecharging me and totally screwing me over and overcharging me for the toy that my daughter didn't even want. She only got it because it was supposed to be 50% off. I have the receipt for that and I was overcharged and the only reason that I left is because I was getting overly angry and I want it out of that store as soon as possible. how horrible my service was, and how this guy literally tried to scam me, Plus false advertising because the ticket price on the game said $42 and then I paid full price for the two toys that I got I never got a discount on that. you don't pressure people into doing something they don't want to give you take no and run with it. I don't know if he gets commission or what when somebody signs up for a membership but that's not right to do to someone and I'm saying it's theft what he did with overcharging, the no 50 percent off, false advertising, and pressuring someone into a membership they said NO multiple times for. Worst experience I've ever had and I will never go back they lost a customer for LIFE! read more

I didn't end up buying anything there because they didn't have what I was looking for unfortunately but wow the customer service was great! I did have to go to another game stop but they were very friendly and willing to help me find what I was looking for and did so! I wish I spent my money there how nice they were to me! read more

Awesome customer service and cool games. My son loves this store.... Clean and bright store and there's always a friendly staff.

The staff seemed annoyed when asked about products. Slow, rude service. Ridiculous used console prices and damaged products.

Favorite Gamestop! The employees are SUPER helpful and friendly. Shoutout to the assistant manager, "Natasha" for being especially great. Even with a longer line, it still beats the speed of other Gamestop stores. read more

I am not a video game junkie. I have my favorites- sure. I can play Mario Cart on my Wii for hours on end (and sadly have been for the last 6 months and I STILL haven't unlocked everything that game has to offer) and Beatles Rock Band still gives me goose bumps whenever I play it- oh how I heart you John, Paul, George and Ringo! Yes, I definitely have my favorites- but I will not pretend to understand the love that is held for video games and systems. Obviously, we have a Wii. It was purchased back in February in Chicago from a Gamestop. It was back at the time you could not get the new systems simply because they couldn't make them fast enough. So we opted for a used system at a Gamestop back home. It still set us back a good $200 bucks when all was said and done- and the games, I really don't want to know how much we've spent on all of those. About 2 weeks ago, my husband and I sat down for a friendly Mario Kart competition, only to find that our poor Wii was rejecting all of our discs. It no longer wanted to boot up and whir little Mario's and Baby Peach's on our screen. My husband dug up the receipt and called Gamestop to see what could be rectified. We luckily had a warranty, so we took it down to this location at the employee's request so he could have a go at it. Not only was this guy waiting for us, but he actually seemed excited to fix the problem. We had downloaded about $100 bucks worth of console (I think this is what it is called when you download the games off your Wii wireless internet) games like Mario 1, 2, & 3, old school Donkey Kong, Frogger and Tetris- obviously for my more girlie playing preferences. This guy was trying like hell to fix our console, simply because these games were saved on our memory and if it had to be replaced there was no way to retrieve them- aside from sending it into Nintendo for $100 with no guarantee it could actually be retrieved and fixed. No thanks. He cleaned it, he put numerous discs in it, he did video game junkie black magic on it.....for about an hour. No luck. It had to be replaced. *single tear* You mean I have to re-beat all those games again?! I have to start all over and replay all the Beatles venues on Easy, Medium and Expert?! He replaced it for free, with a brand new Wii and gave us a brand new 1 year warranty. He apologized profusely, even though we told him he had gone above and beyond. He then gave us tips and tricks to not have this happen in the future. He was a doll. For this reason, I will be using this location only from now on when video game needs arise. I would advise you to do the same. I know lots of folks who purchased their consoles- Wii, PlayStation, Xbox, etc- from Targets, Walmarts & Best Buys who now have a dusty, nonworking console sitting in their basement that they cannot get replaced for free and that they do not have the money to get replaced on their own. In actuality it is usually cheaper to just buy a new one. Because we made the wise decision to buy it at Gamestop, we are now replaying all of our our old games on a new shinier Wii console. She's quite the looker folks. read more

Came in to trade in the Wii that i bought 3 years ago that i never play. They gave me a great deal on trade in value. I eneded up leaving with an xbox 360 and some games. I am so happy with that decision. The employee was awesome and patient with me as i asked 50 million questions. They have a huge selection of previously owned games at a fair price. I actually came in on a day they had a good sale as well. read more
