This is a great location if you are in the Manchester/Windsor area. Their storefront is right off the highway as well as along a few backroads if you are interested in a longer trip. The red rocks near this shopping center are unique and interesting to look at, and there are many other great things to do while in the area (they are directly next door to Sweet Frog). The service is acceptable but they seem to be a bit understaffed as is common with big companies these days. The GameStop and PSA grading service is the big seller here for me personally. I have a collection of trading cards that I needed evaluated and the staff was kind and professional when working with me. I have since used this particular service many times and have never been let down. I highly recommend looking into the lesser known services that these folks offer such as mobile phone trade ins and of course the PSA. I have scored a few knickknacks for my collection here as well, also at very reasonable prices that I have never felt cheated by. If you know what you are looking for, or just want to browse to find a new favorite series, game, or toy, this is the store for you. read more

This location is our preferred one. It's pretty well stocked and preorders are easily done. If you have boys, you are well acquainted with this store chain. It's the designer drug for their set. It's possible to trade in your GameStop gift card for other equivalent gift cards in stock. For instance, my teenage son is into 'steam' now and often trades in for that online gaming community site. It's also a great spot for accessories & some various new collector items and old school, for the older boys (the hubby!) They usually get in the latest & greatest pretty quickly. I am so new to the video game world. I just picked up a PS4 for my family so I have no experience with game providers. I found places like Target and Toys R Us to be overpriced with limited selection. Then we found Gamestop. What I love about this place is that they specialize in games and are happy to help with questions. I'm a dummy in this regard so they've helped me tremendously. The main reason I go to Gamestop is the wide selection used games. Since I'm so new and have a young family, why start with all new games? Sometimes you can find the newest used, like I did with Battlefront II. There are even games you can get for a few bucks which is the best way build up the catalog. I spent the money on an elite membership, which gets you the cheaper rates on used games. They also give you a better discount for reselling your old games. They even took my old Wii games. On busy days, the lines can be long as this is a popular location and if you go in with the right expectations, it's ok. To sum up, focus on used games, sell your old ones and buy the membership. I never write reviews, but I have to write one tonight. In today's world, where everyone cares so little for one another, no politeness, no respect, no care, I was greeted today by one of the most genuine people I have ever met. She was so attentive and kind. I came in with my 3 children, all of them are under the age 7, and my daughter started crying as she is 2 years old. This amazing staff member not only calmed my daughter down and made her smile, she distracted her so I could finish my purchase. After a long day as a nurse, on the verge of barely hanging on, she engaged not only my children, but calmed me down after my interaction with the rude salesman there, with her light humor which I appreciated so much. The gentleman working that night, who was very rude to my son, who is 7, in a very demeaning tone, I was almost in tears, yelled at him to take off a hat he tried on if he wasn't going to purchase it. He innocently came up to us to show how cute he was with the hat on, and this awful salesperson talked down to him as if he was an adult, I wanted to cry. It was horrible and unfeeling, I had such a rough day and was so distraught after this, him talking to my son in this manner, and the lovely salesperson saw this and came immediately to my rescue. I cant tell you I left there feeling like someone cared. She did. And I hope she sees this and knows how much I valued her in that moment and her kindness. If you ever shop here, you will not be disappointed. Just make sure she's working if you plan on bringing your children. If the guy is working, be prepared for a short fuse and a nasty disposition. read more

It actually has nothing to do with the store itself, but rather than the throngs of teens, the ass and underarm smell that lingers in the store, and the overly knowledgable salespeople that act like what they are doing is rocket science. Bad customer service , ask for a receipt when purchase history is in the computer , tells me that he needs to verify purchase was within 30 days when it states the date I purchased in the computer (within 30 days by the way) , was just trying to exchange a game that was unopened for a digital Xbox currency. He was really rude and I'll admit I was an asshole back because I'll be damned I'll be talked down too like that , told him to fuck off and that their full of shit . There's a reason why these stores are closing down it's not all customer service but the bull going on in this store won't help . Slow, this was a middle of the day, there were two others in front of me and it took 20 minutes to checkout. Then they asked me if I wanted a million different warranties on the $5 used game I bought, to me that just doesn't make any sense. They do have a vast selection of games, used or otherwise. I was looking for a vey specific game that I didn't think they would have but to my surprise they had multiple copies of it. It is the closest one to me so if I ever need a game which is rare I will try them again albeit when I lived in Wethersfield, the Rocky Hill branch was the best. read more

Best Gamestop I have ever been to. We regularly travel past at least 3 other stores just to make the trek up here, because we know that they have the best stock in the area. The store is always clean, the games are in great condition, and the employees are incredibly helpful and always willing to go the extra-step. The store can get a bit busy, but the staff are good about getting people through the line quickly and efficiently. read more

By far the worst retail experience I've ever had. I'll start by saying I'm not big into video games myself or have much knowledge of the new gaming systems. My boyfriend on the other hand is, so I decided what better gift to get him for his birthday than the new Xbox one since he had his Xbox 360 for ages now. It was more than I wanted to spend but worth it to see his reaction. Anyway I wanted it to be a surprise so I went to the store by myself hoping the employees would be helpful in assisting me. A girl, Samantha asked if I needed help right when I walked in. I asked her what the price differences were on the Xbox ones (400 w/ out connect, 450 used w/ connect and 500 new w/ connect she explained) I decided to go new w/ connect (I knew that much was important) but herself, a male employee and the manager insisted I save 50$ and get the pre-owned one telling me it was just like new, came w/ everything the new one would and that it was just someone who returned it to get a ps4 instead. I debated for a few minutes what to do, glared at the box and said 'it comes w/ the headset, HDMI cable, everything exactly?" they said "yup and you can use the extra $50 to get him a game to start off w/ the money you saved". I thought ok not a bad deal, especially since I verified we'd have 30days to return and upgrade if we decided to. My boyfriend was being thrilled w/ the present but when we opened the box we noticed there was no headset or HDMI cable which they specifically told me it came w/. So a couple days later we made it back out to the store to return it for a new one. The same girl, Samantha was there but did not help me, instead another girl and the same male employee that put his two cents in last time helped us. I told her had happened and what was missing. She proceeded to tell me that none of the used ones come w/ a headset because customers usually keep them and that it should have had the HDMI cable so if I trade it for a new one she won't give me the HDMI. In nice words I said that's BS because it didn't come w/ one in the first place and I was told it would have BOTH of these parts. She kept trying to say there's nothing she can do and I told her I didn't appreciate being called a liar. She then said she'll see what she can do. After a few minutes of her messing around on the computer said the used Xbox I bought came from another store and they never checked for the HDMI like they should've and apologized saying it was their fault completely. I'm annoyed at this point now that it's been implied that I'm a liar and was essentially taken advantage of by two employees and a manager. If I hadn't spoken up they wouldn't have looked into it and they would've withheld the HDMI cable that we were supposed to receive in the first place. At this point I'm already upset and then she includes the New Xbox one comes with a free game ($50 value) are you kidding me?! The reason they told me to buy a used on in the first place was so that I can buy him a game to start off. Why wouldn't they tell me it comes w/ one w/ the new Xbox console? Overall my boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed w/ the customer service received by not one by 3 employees and one manager. I was spending a lot of money to try and get my boyfriend an awesome birthday present and they tried screwing me over instead of helping me. I will never purchase anything from this store again. I hope they get their act together and start hiring honest, trustworthy employees in the future, starting w/ their store manager. read more
