I bought a $10 card for currency, and I can't even redeem it so I wasted 5min and $10 just for it not to work.

While I was test-sleeving the cards I met with the store general manager Ken and Derek, one of the managers. Gave Derek a KL starter. He and Ken were extremely professional and hospitable. We also had an amazing and fruitful gameR chat. The store is amazing, well-stocked, clean. The management also makes sure that noise level from players talking is kept in control. I came back the next day to buy more card sleeves. Another store employee was there to take care of me. She was likewise amazing. A great gaming store for gamers who wish to have fun and rest.

Every time I walk in this store an employee is always eager and happy to help and my brother LOVES everything I have got him from Ettin Games and Hobbies! While my brother is a MUCH MORE Magic: The Gathering player, I am not and I do not have much experience playing Magic. I almost always lose. My brother asked me to play a commander game with me and showed me which cards to play and way and I ended up winning for my first time so I guess I got the "bug" for playing it. Remembering that Ettin Games sells Magic cards & etc., I looked them up on their website and read their event calendar. When I see that they do commander casual play, it peaked my interest so I called to ask about their events. When I called, I first spoke to a SUPER nice and helpful employee named CJ who explained their events to me. I explained that I would like some help learning how to play Magic: The Gathering; that I'm not very good at playing it; and I don't have much experience. CJ told me that every week, they have players that come and LOVE to work with and help new players play MTG and that, also, their "Magic Guy", Willie would be there and that Willie plays MTG and loves to help other players as well. I was told that Willie would help me put together a White deck and BOY did he!!! I was SO EXCITED and grateful!! I meet several REALLY COOL people (2 of which helped me ALOT). Both Willie and another player let me play their decks and try them out! I had SO MUCH FUN!!! Willie put together a really nice white deck for me that I'm SUPER EXCITED to try out!! I can't wait to go back next Thursday!!! I'm also SUPER EXCITED about my new "Black Widow" playing mat and sleeves!!

I have not been to this store physically, but my review is for online orders fulfilled by this CEX…read morelocation as online orders are fulfilled by the individual stores. Anyways, I have ordered an Nvidia Shield TV about 4 times from CEX online...4 times...sounds crazy right? Well it is, multiple times I have ordered online from CEX and the Shield TV was either missing a controller, broken, or they gave me the wrong controller. Now normally I would have given up, but I really didn't have anything else I wanted so I ordered an Nvidia Shield Pro 500GB model one last time and shipped by this store. Shipping notice came three days early, item didn't ship out until about three days after I got the shipping notice, a bit annoying really, but whatever. Item arrived in under a week so overall I can't complain especially for free shipping. I received the item a couple days ago. The item functions great, came complete with box, even with the original charging cable! These guys did their homework, unlike the other CEX stores I dealt with and failed, these guys got it right! I feel confident to say that any interaction with them should at least be professional and you should get what you pay for, and I imagine if not they would resolve the issue quickly. So in conclusion, these guys know how to run a business.

I was really excited about visiting the store after seeing the YouTuber PhoenixResale highlight it…read morein his Texas game stores video. When I came into the store I wasn't welcomed in by anyone which didn't set a friendly precedent. I couldn't distinguish between the customers and the employees that worked there. I think they should wear a color coded shirt and name tag to help distinguish them from everyone else. I started asking different questions to the employee at the front desk, but he seemed always bothered every time I approached. Looked like a new guy. He said he hadn't been there for very long. Doesn't seem like he wants to be there. Maybe he was having a bad day? He seemed to be in physical pain or something from my impression. The one old guy with the long beard was super nice and helpful. The girl working there didn't seem to be doing anything but standing around. Just felt awkward. I got asked way too many times by the guy at the front desk if I needed help finding anything, one time is enough, I don't need to be bothered five times. Doesn't help make a customer feel welcome. Maybe a short friendly conversation about a game they enjoy or are looking for will be more encouraging and welcoming to the customer. Disclaimer: This part of my review about Culture Shock isn't a knock against GameBros, but wanted to leave this bit in my review since the stores are combined it was part of my impressions. I browsed around and could see that the store floor was mixed with Culture Shock. They had way too many funco pops. I know some people are really into that, but literally every customer that walked in was totally disinterested including myself and would go straight for the games or other toys and figures in the back. Pretty big waste of space for items that will hardly be sold. Back to Gamebros, they had a really neat display of some rare video games, but so many of them were ridiculously overpriced. I just don't see any average person coming in to buy that stuff. Why even have it on display if nobody plans on buying it? I tried looking for some PS1 and PS2 games, but unfortunately couldn't find any I was looking for. I guess high demand games like Crash Bandicoot 3, Crash Bash and Ratchet and Clank games get sold really fast. I found some N64 games and Super Nintendo games. The N64 ones seemed to be fairly priced, some of the N64 and Super Nintendo ones were way overpriced though probably due to high demand and popularity. I definitely would not pay those prices and most other customers would feel the same. Prices for the original Xbox and Wii games were great, as well as the PS3. Overall, I give the store a 6/10. A more welcoming atmosphere and friendly positive customer service from the employees will encourage people to come back. I ended up spending around $100, so they got some of my business. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon though.

They're a bit more expensive than GameStop and Game X Change. Today, I came in to see if they had any N64 consoles. I walked into the store and there was an employee sitting behind the counter that didn't acknowledge my existence. After getting lost in mountains of funko pop figures, I finally walked up and asked if they had any N64 systems and he looked up from his phone long enough to say "no" before going back about his business. With this type of customer service, it's amazing that this store stays open. I definitely won't be back.
