I called the store asking to get the customer service number because there was a charge on my card from there and I have not left my home for several months except to the hospital. He said he could not look up my account nor could he find the customer service number. I asked to speak to the manager. He said he was the manager and he still did not know how to find customer service number in the store. Its usually on a receipt but I guess its not there or they made some idiot a manager. It's a GameStop, there are many like it, but this one is in the Anchorage Mall. The staff here is nice and the selection is decent. However, to buy and sell goods here, you must bear the mark! Okay, having a membership might not be required to buy things here, but they push them very very hard! Employees must get beaten up badly if they don't hustle them enough. Terrible business model or just poorly trained employee. Either way, place to avoid. Went to buy $500 in PlayStation Store gift cards for a friend and was told I can only do $200 in one hour. I understand there might be a concern about stolen credit cards, so I thought ID could help connect my credit card with myself. Well, no. Apparently, the system doesn't let the employee sell me more than $200. First of, it doesn't make any sense. What if I buy $200 gift cards and someone walks in after me wanting to buy a $10 gift card? They'd have to wait for an hour? And secondly, on my way out of the mall I passed through JC Penny, saw the same gift cards over there and bought $300 worth. GameStop won't sell you more than $200 in gift cards FOR GAMES, but department store will. Interesting. read more

Absolutely the worst kind of customer service. If I could give a zero stars I would. Don't take my word for it. Other local Gamestop employees know of the "culture" of that store. I was denied service on two separate occasions by two separate employees (one of which was a manager) for simple tasks that was reasonable for me to ask. Every other gamestop in Anchorage has no problem doing these tasks such as using your pro member card to look up a receipt you lost. I recommend the Dimond Mall Gamestop for excellent service. Fifth Ave Mall Gamestop employees look at you as if you're beneath them. read more
