DISCLAIMER: nothing I say in this review is meant to come off as condescending or demeaning or belittling or anything like that. Coming in here was like a trip down memory lane. Comic books and general geekdom were my first love. SIDEBAR: I feel like I no longer have the street cred to proudly call myself a "geek" like I once did. All the "geeky" things I was into are now incredibly mainstream: fantasy (Game of Thrones, LotR), D&D (Stranger Things), and if you had told 11 y/o Andrew that not only would they make movies about Marvel comics, not only would they be good (I used watch the horrendous 1990 "Captain America" movie more than I'd like to admit...), but they would gross BILLIONS of dollars? I would've told you that you were not from the future, and that you should seek a mental health professional. Anyway, browsing in here really hit me in the feels. They have a massive selection of comics, that's kind of like the main corridor in here. Then they have a side room for "gaming" (think D&D, Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer 40k, *that* type of gaming...no video here) and another side room for sports cars. The folks working here are very knowledgeable about anything and everything vaguely related to assorted geekery. I came in here to buy my first comic in over a decade: a total reboot of the X-MEN! But they didn't have any in stock (it was one of the only comics they didn't have, must be popular), next time! Anyway, if this mountaineering hobby ever doesn't work out, I think I will go back to perusing comic book racks, spend some weekends painting Warhammer figurines, and maybe finally learn how to play "Magic: The Gathering".

Great new location with lots of space! The store has everything any nerd needs. Comics, tabletop games, collectibles, RPGs and supplies, posters, and more and more. The staff are experts. They know their stuff - fanboys and fangirls- all.

Bosco's has been around town in a few different locations and this latest one feels like they've finally got everything in the right place. It's a much cleaner-feeling facility than their previous Spenard location (just up the street, actually) and they carry the best selection of comic books, board games and general genre merchandise in town. I've followed Bosco's around three different spots (that I remember anyway...) in the Dimond Center. They even had a brief stint on Muldoon but this is really the store to visit if you're in need of a new lightsaber or the latest issue of Deadpool. I weigh my opinion on businesses based on how successfully I perceive them to be at whatever it is they're trying to accomplish. Well done here. With a large space to support community card/board games & events, they're definitely hitting all the right marks. This is one of those stores that's just fun to browse (if you're a big geek like me, anyway). If this one's their final evolution (Pokemon pun intended), it's a great location and I hope to see them successful for many more years.

I like and respect the act of running a game store in this day of age and even within this state,…read morehowever as a person with a lot of knowledge on this scene, they are *way* to overpriced and they do not offer much for credit. I visit every time I go to the mall but Christ it's horrifying looking at those prices, for example I was cowering the Wii section and I came across 2 copies of Mario kart going for 60!! The cases were even discolored and it's super easy to find the games going for 25 in a better condition on eBay. Additionally I came in there last year and was shocked by the trade in credit they offered me, I had been amassing about 300 dollars worth of games I picked up for a couple bucks at various garage sales and thrift stores and they only offered me 50 bucks for everything. Literally just one of the games I offered them was worth that amount. Just looking at their consoles is crazy to me too, 125 bucks for a n64 is absurd which from my knowledge has been in their case for months. I got mine a couple years ago for about 50 with games and some original boxes. Lastly I think they are really shooting themselves in the foot here by not expanding with more modern titles, most people in the scene have no interest in anything older than the ps4 and Xbox one, yet those sections are some of the smallest in the store. I personally collect every generation and console, w about 20 consoles and ~600-700 ish games but I am obviously not the norm. With the closing of the GameStop right below them they have a massive opportunity to take over in the modern games department.

I can't really call myself much of a video game person especially if I'm 15 years behind on gaming…read moretrends (PS2 and the original XBOX to be exact). However, I didn't come in here for the video games. I came here for the significant collection of POP! figurines that they had displayed on a shelf next to the registers. This Gamestop is located in the Dimond Center Tower next to Bosco's Comics and Mrs. Field's Cookies. I never thought about collecting these pieces until a couple of co-workers had me started after seeing their collection of extensive and far-reaching pieces of the pop culture world that they were modeled after. Everything from movie characters, musicians, UFC fighters, WWE wrestlers, TV series, late night personalities, NFL players, and game show hosts among others had piqued my interest and I decided to start a 1980's era collection to display on a shelf in my office area. The employees here were very friendly and easy to talk to as I approached them. When I asked about the POP! Figurines, they became excited and started talking in great detail about what they had in their inventory and what to expect for new pieces being released in the upcoming months. I asked for any pieces from the 1980's and the manager immediately showed me several, pointing out that some of them were hard to find and only available in their stores. The ones that really stood out were Clark Griswold from National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, a classic that shows him holding a cup of eggnog in his hand with the Christmas hat, Hans Gruber, the villain from the first Die Hard film, Josh Baskin, Tom Hanks's character from the movie Big, showing him in the memorable scene playing on the giant piano, and Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs. Although the movie came out in 1991, the detailed figurine showing him in the orderly's uniform holding the razor blade was something I couldn't pass up. I was expecting to pay full price for all of them, but I lucked out when the manager told me that two of them were on sale for $5 each down from the regular price of $11.99. I was also given a list of the upcoming POP! Figurines through the end of the year and had the option of securing any of them on presale in case they sold out quickly. Some of the upcoming figurines included Maximus and Commodus from the Russell Crowe movie Gladiator, Arya with the 2-headed spear, Bran the Broken, Theon Greyjoy with the flaming arrow, the Mountain, Sansa Stark, the Night King with the dagger, and Jon Snow from the final season of Game of Thrones, James Bond characters including Baron Samedi from Live and Let Die, Le Chiffre from Casino Royale, Honey Ryder from Dr. No along with Daniel Craig's Bond character from Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, Rob Zombie, Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and the Earp brothers from the Kurt Russell movie Tombstone, and Xena: Warrior Princess. It was a great start to a new hobby thanks to their help.

And...so many interesting books. So many more than the library, and presented in a much more intriguing fashion. (card catalog? BO-RING!) Times have changed though. Coffee shops have exploded. There are dozens within a few miles of this location. Books? Believe it or not, Amazon started as an online "BOOK" store. That's all they sold. The main selling point was "you can shop in your underwear!!!!!". You actually had to pay for shipping. In those days, you could make a good case for going into a B&N (or their competitor "Borders"). Now though? Amazon is consistently 20-50% cheaper on just about everything here. You'd think they'd price match? I asked them to price match a $20 book that was $15 on Amazon. They couldn't. I'll just wait a few days and save $5. I AM that cheap and I am NOT that impatient.
