I ordered some gold plated coins for our company and they are Beautiful! The customer service I received from Chris, Gunner, & Mike was excellent! The price is excellent for this project. I browsed the store and I sure could get find so many items to purchase. If you're looking for any Alaskan Jewelry this is the place to go. I also like their security system they have in place.

Service is excellent, selection is ridiculously large! The value is really what you want it to be. I have the gold encrusted watch., love it. Nice piece and definitely unique. You go in here you WILL leave with something for sure since there is a little something for everyone.

Most everyone that works here is so nice and knowledgeable. Alaska Mint is the official mint for the state of Alaska, it's privately owned by a really terrific family, all of the workers (though not related to one another) are so comfortable that they feel like a family. If you're looking for a souvenir that is out of the ordinary, check this place out for a beautiful piece of jewelry, gold nuggets, rare gold quartz and/or pure silver or gold medallions that are hand minted at the actual "store" Most everything here is pretty spendy, but it's also rare, unique and hand crafted with a long time guarantee. You'll also find a few less expensive items such as ULU knives, gold pokes, shark tooth necklaces etc. So if you're shopping for a kid you can find something that's affordable and different, for an adult, definitely rare and memorable. Also, if you just want to stop in and have a coffee, their coffee bar is more affordable than any other that I've been to.

Friendly people. Definitely the pioneer-type set-up. I like that there is a little Goldpan stream set up and an old safe.

If you want to try some of the teas they sell in the shop before purchasing, they do have some available in the cafe. Though, buyer beware, I thought they'd sell locals only merchandise, like the other shops, but I saw some items from CA.

The sandwich, bagel, and soup offerings were a little sad and left a lot to be desired unfortunately. They're not fresh and they were just in a to-go case, and if we had time before our next activity we would have gone someplace else. We each got a sandwich (tuna salad, chicken salad) for $7/sandwich and we wished we had just gone to a grocery store which would have been better and cheaper. The fireweed donuts, which are apparently popular, was a pretty pink but just tasted like sugar. The samovar donut was a little better and had a flavor other than sugar, but didn't taste particularly fresh. I think the only thing worth getting was the samovar tea, which is what they're known for. The most prominent flavor to me was cinnamon so if you don't like that you could skip this entirely. The bathroom was also out of order the day I went this week.
