On my recent trip to Alaska I was wearing a diamond and ruby ring my mother had given me years ago. The diamonds were just small ones around the one ruby. While getting ready to go out I had taken my rings off and laid them on the bathroom countertop. When I later reached for them I managed instead to knock them off onto the floor, and one of the small diamonds fell out of the ring from my mother. Glad it happened there so I could at least not lose the diamond! I thought if I could find someone to put it back in the ring, that would be better than worrying about misplacing a loose diamond till I went home. I started googling local jewelry stores near Dimond Center, the hotel I was at, and found a couple I thought might try. Giamante Jewellers was less than 10 min away so off I went. They were really nice, and after looking at my ring under a microscope, told me a few prongs were bent and that a second diamond was loose. They said that can happen over time, but was an easy fix. Next day I came back and my ring looked almost like it did when my mother first gave it to me. All diamonds were back in it, the prongs looked like they ought to, plus they gave the ring a much needed cleaning and polishing. It sparkled! Plus, they offered to clean my other ring while I waited. I'm very happy they were close and able to take care of my ring. Made my day! read more

Joseph and Debi impressed me from the very first visit to their store. I was preparing to make a private party purchase of a diamond for my wedding ring, and needed some guidance/information/input regarding that process. Other jewelers in town were barely willing to give me the time of day. Without hesitation, Joseph spent almost an hour looking up comparable stones and sharing information to help me bargain intelligently with the seller. He did this free of charge, and with no guarantee that I would ever buy anything from them. After I bought the diamond and it was time to find a setting, there was only one place I wanted to go - Giamante. My fiance and I gave a basic description of what we were looking for, and the second setting they showed us was "the one"! We requested a slight modification to the design, and Joseph was happy to oblige. Even with the custom order, the ring was delivered within two weeks. I went to Joseph at Giamante as I have known him professionally for 20 years. I have seen many stunning, one of a kind jewelry peices that Joseph has designed and created and knew that he could capture the uniqueness I was looking for. I went to the store with 3 photos and plenty of ideas, Joseph and Debbie helped me gel my creation. I had a particular pink color I was looking for and Joseph brought in many stone options for me to choose from, the stone was in the first batch and it was the perfect shade of baby pink. I went to Giamante to have a custom engagement ring made for my fiancé. I wanted something that could be seen as one of a kind from a mile away, she wanted the moon and the stars; and Giamante made it all possible. What we ended up with was a ring unlike any other. Edwardian style band and base that came up to a large surface area, portraying the moon and stars with a variety of diamonds, different sizes, shapes, and colors, with the moon being the largest and brightest stone, pertruding up above the rest, demanding the most attention. We receive endless compliments on the ring and I cannot count the "good jobs" I have gotten by nearly every woman who takes a look at it. I have never met a more rude couple of people than the male and female "couple" that run the store...I belive their names are Debbie and Joseph. I called prior to coming in to make sure they weren't too busy to identify a gemstone for me and Debbie said to come on in, so I did but the minute I walked in the door, she was indifferent, snobby and said she didn't have time to help me because she had an errand to run!! And joseph was just as cold and acted like he had somewhere to go instead of helping me...They will never have my business and I will let everyone know of the unprofessionalism, bad manners and and all around lazy attitude of the staff. People like that have no business dealing with customer service. read more

These folks are great. They listen, they provide options for how best to create what you want, and they're willing to work within your budget versus other shops that constantly push you to spend outside your limits. I really like their professionalism and I'm looking forward to having them perform some work on my girlfriend's grandmother's ring in the near future. I really appreciate businesses that have the owners on hand for consulting and who are clearly making an attempt to provide a good environment and exceptional service. Hope this helps someone! You won't find kinder, sweeter jewelers in Anchorage. It is 100% apparent that their customers are their number one priority. I have done a couple of transactions with Debi and Joseph, and know their business practices quite well. The earlier review posted on December 14th is obviously a competitor trying to tarnish the competition and that's so disappointing. Giamante is like how Saturn dealerships used to be - you know you are getting the best price possible and there is no haggling. Incredible service! I just got engaged to a girl who LOVES geology (especially rocks), so getting the right engagement ring was extremely important to me. Joseph and Debi were incredibly friendly, didn't pressure me to make a quick decision, nor did they try to convince me to get a more expensive style or stone than what I was looking for. After getting a price quote, I checked out a few other places just to confirm my decision, and was not even slightly impressed with anyone else. I would highly recommend Giamante to anyone. My husband purchased my custom set micro pave engagement ring from Giamante. It was set with an ideal cut diamond that the owner hand selected based on my husbands strict criteria.The original setting was too weak for my lifestyle so Giamantes repaired my setting with thicker prongs and I haven't had a problem since. I wanted to upgrade and reset my wife's wedding solitaire (3rd or so time, yellow gold does wear out). Joseph was outstanding and a valuable resource, taking as much time as was necessary for my wife to select the right metal, design, and pattern.
