Visited on 16-Oct-2023 during school fall break. There are a few free parking spots in front, and I think there is a lot out back. The woman working here was very patient and knowledgeable about MTG, the primary purpose of the visit. A large supply of cards at varying price points. Market values at the standard(?) trading rates w/re store credit. My son spent way too much (of everyone's) time putting together a commander deck, but the staff graciously made it happen, even making suggestions to improve that deck and others (tron?). My son forgot a box of cards on a table, and the clerk ran out to our car with them in hand before we drove off. A+ Oh, and a common card filing system from an old library. "Oh, that was in Ghostbusters", is how my son recognized it. read more

If I could give more stars I would - I found this store after looking for a place to take my nephew to hunt for some new Magic the Gathering cards. From the moment we walked into the door, the young woman working was incredibly friendly, helpful and patient (Upset I didn't get her name, management - give this gal a raise!!). She took so much time to thoughtfully help my nephew make his selection and was able to absolutely delight him by talking shop for a while. I was so impressed by the experience and knowledge that was shared. Even though, much of this game is above my head - I was treated kindly and my questions met with enthusiasm. It absolutely made my day to see my nephew light up and get some great new cards for his deck, and have the chance to see a small shop that's doing a great job fostering a sense of community and place for those card and board game lovers here in Boulder. I ordered sleeves from the website but received the wrong product. Inventory sku was off by 2 numbers at the end. Probably a visual error as the 2 sleeves' art looks very similar and are apart of the same set. I emailed Gamer's customer service and they responded quickly sharing apologies, that they would send out the correct product asap, and I get to keep the sleeves that I received on top of it. If you ask me, customer service doesnt get better than that. Would order from Gamer's Guild again, no second thoughts. read more

I just returned from checking this place out. One of my fellow gamers on http://shadowrun.meetup.com/79 pointed me to this place. Upon entering, on the left is the counter with some Magic: The Gathering cards in the display case along with several card games. Behind the counter are some padded weapons for LARPing (Live-Action Role Playing) along with some planes for Wings of War, mostly from the second series (Watch Your Back). On the right side are two magazine style racks. The right rack has the Role-Playing Gaming type books such as Dungeons & Dragons on the top shelf and various other games on the center and bottom shelf including Shadowrun. The left rack has more board games and family type games including all the Wings of War boxed sets and several Munchkin and Killer Bunny boxes. There are a couple of tables between the counter and the racks. On the wall to the right of the counter are 5 or 6 computer gaming stations ready for someone to drop in and play. In the back is a wide screen TV for PS3 and X-Box gaming. There's a lounge to the left of the two large racks and when I was there, the owner was taking one of the tables and chairs and putting it outside on the sidewalk. On a non-windy day, it might actually be cool to play outside :) The owner was friendly and more than willing to take orders for games or materials and he was willing to chat with me for a few minutes about Wings of War and Shadowrun (two of my favorite games). His location is a bit out of the way for me as I work in Longmont (Stonebridge Games) and live in Broomfield (Black and Read) with South Boulder (Karliquin's) as a jog to the west. There are a lot of houses up that way and I would likely come here as often as any other if I were closer. Edit: Pricing! Almost forgot. The prices here are a tad better than Stonebridge and Karliquin's. Still not quite good enough to spend the extra gas to go get it. read more

I wish there were more game stores like this! They had every kind of game you could be interested in ~ console, tabletop, board, card, etc. The manager Budge was friendly and helpful, and had all the information I could want on when certain tournaments or casual games were held. The layout of the store is open and comfortable, and they had an excellent mix of games I know and love and newer games I can't wait to try out. I'm especially enamored of their demo policy ~ try before you buy! My timing wasn't great as I showed up just before closing, but even though the space is small they offer so much! This will definitely be one of my top hang out spots! read more

So where do you go when your youngest begins to enjoy the game "Magic" and you have no idea what it is all about. After visiting a few shops and not really learning anything I hit the jackpot with Gamer's Guild. Budge was a terrific, patient source of info for both of us and helped immensely. Was visiting Boulder and stopped here to get my Magic fix. The owner and employees are very attentive and knowledgable. They even have older sets of Magic that haven't been printed in over a decade. Lots of space to game. They definitely made this tourist feel as if it was my own LGS. read more

My son loves this place. He and his friends will go there together to play console games, usually XBOX 360 because the store has XBOX Live Gold subscriptions on all their boxes. We held my son's birthday party there and they were GREAT. The owner was very nice and helpful, it was a good deal and each kid got a discount coupon they could use on their next visit. During the party I even tried out Little Big Planet on the PS3 and had a lot of fun, while my wife played board and party games with the woman behind the counter. Their base rate is $5/hr for the console games which seemed like a decent price to me, plus they have some promotions and discounts on top of that. I am not a gamer at heart but I really like having a place like this in Boulder. Note: there is a Subway sandwich shop and an Amante coffee shop nearby when you need a recharge. Parking is a little awkward (you park around back, but have to walk around the front) but seemed plentiful, and was free. read more

It was a little daunting at first and seemed incredibly expensive to get into, however with Gamer Guilds help and knowledge we were able to make our first plunge into the community. I came in looking for Settlers of Catan and wanted to leave with about five other games. They have it all! There are tables in the back to play in groups and there are always Magic players about. The staff was helpful and attentive. Don't bother buying board games on-line, it's the same price here when it is all said and done. I will go back when I am ready for Ticket to Ride! read more

Great place to get into gaming. The staff is great, very knowledgeable and helpful. I wanted to get into Magic: The Gathering so I checked out all the game stores in Boulder and Longmont. Gamer's Guild was by far the most helpful and had the most selection. They offered to referee a game so my girlfriend's son and I could learn to play. They also have a weekly kids Magic tournament on Sundays. read more

While I was unfortunately unable to attend, my youngest brother had his 12th birthday party there recently. And let me tell you, it was a HUGE hit. The only non-gamer in my family is my Mother, whom was the adult in attendance. Normally, she feels awkward and uncomfortable around situations like this. She takes my brother to Yugi-oh tournaments in Arvada but always left quite ruffled. However, the owner and the patrons made her feel absolutely comfortable and she was able to have a great time. She even shared some of the cupcakes I made with patrons. I wish to come here soon, but I give it such a high review because of the success of my brothers party AND making an awkward non-gamer mother feel comfortable where she might otherwise not. The price per child per hour for the parties? Phenominally affordable. If you're looking for a unique party for your gamer child, absolutely go here first!
