This store stocks a lot of games, dvds and pre-owned merchandise too and I think that they are all at affordable prices. I like this store because I am bound to find something that I like, which is in good condition and is at a reasonable price. The staff here are nice and helpful, they seem to know what stock they have in as I have often asked for particular games or dvds and they have always been able to tell me what they have available in the store. I think that this is quite handy as it saves me looking around for hour. Overall, I think this is a good little game store and recommend it to those in the local area.

After the recent demise of huge multinational chain Game, it's really nice to see that a local, independent video game store is still able to keep going strong, even with a not exactly optimum location. Having essentially a monopoly on video game selling in the area, Console Games could have been a real dive, something like someone born prior to the birth of video games probably imagines when they think of gamers congregating in one location. However, an impressive , life size figure in the window shows that Console Games are concerned with their appearance and want to put across that they're specialists in the area. Stocking a large number of second hand games, their prices are more than competitive; although I'm somewhat out of the loop when it comes to prices, I saw one Nintendo DS game selling for £5 that I'd seen in a (now-closed) Game store a couple of months ago going for triple that (also second hand). My one issue with Console Games is that, despite having good prices and, in addition to the games, an impressive library of pre-owned DVDs, none of them were in alphabetical order, meaning any potential bargains were virtually impossible to sniff out. Still, if you've got some time to kill, I'd recommend Console Games for trying to find a gem on the cheap.

The games range from 3-10 pounds, a much cheaper option than buying brand new cutting edge games. Cex offers choice to the consumer and doesn't rip people off. Only problem I have had with HMV recently is their refusal to refund something I had bought, even though I had the receipt and it was unopened and only purchased the previous week! I have no idea if it was their policy or the member of staff but I ended up just getting something else to put away for a Christmas present. I did not have time to argue that day and have not gone in since, but I will look out for their refund policy next time and if it has changed to exchanges only I doubt I will be shopping at HMV much in the future.

There is no room to take a baby in a buggy in as there are just too many people. The queue to pay always seems to extend back to half way down the shop which again disrupts the ability to browse. They sell a good variety of CD's, DVD's, console games etc. There is always music playing in the background but not loud enough to put you off what you are doing. It does tend to be full of teenagers at weekends who seem to be out in big gangs.

I'm a huge Superman fan and honestly there isn't a good superman game ( come on WB ) Anyway he signs me up to this event to go with him. It was on a Sunday evening after the Stores had closed. We went it after showing the text invite to the event and in to play the game. If you pre-order the game there, you get free t-shirt of the game and some other goodies in a bag. My friend had already pre-ordered weeks before but he showed the receipt and they gave him the t-shirt, was a large size but he didn't care :). There were people from the WB who have or had something to do with the game, I forgot. As we were taking turns playing the game they had ordered drinks and pizza for us. Big thumbs up, I didn't expect that. We had planned to go eat after the event, so got to save up. My friend seemed to be having a great time, he finished the demo and started again exploring different places, I was occupied with free food and drinks I didn't mind him taking his time :D. I got to speak to other people who were waiting for their turns, talking (arguing) about comics and superheroes. I had a great time at the event and GAME did a great job making sure we were all having a great time. There was even a guy dressed as Tim Burton's batman. :)

There's not the stigma attached to trading here as there is at Cash Convertors, where the atmosphere smacks of the desperation of the payday loan world and pawning lifestyle. ceX have lots of second hand games, DVDs, games consoles, phones, tablets and laptops, all at reasonable prices. If you are looking for a classic game from a few years ago, you could well find it here for just a few quid.
