Then I chose my bat Lucille (TWD reference iykyk lol) and beat my electronics down! After you fill out the waiver you lock your thing in the locker and then get suited up.They offer larger suits just ask the staff. They were chill and friendly. The 20 mins seems fast before you go in but honestly it was just enough time. Id love to have some bigger items to beat like furniture or a large TV. Ooo or those school building style long light bulbs lol. Great girls night, date or solo date.

I booked the Double Trouble package, which was $89.99 + tax. It included two large electronics, two small electronics and ten plates (which were my favorite part). There's a cord to hook up your phone for music, which was a nice touch. One thing I'll say is that we overheated--the room was way too hot. With the gear on, being active, and no air circulation, it got uncomfortable fast. It's definitely something fun to do every now and then or decompress in a unique way.

We played their new virtual experience "Tough Luck" and it was a blast. The whole thing takes place via Zoom and to accommodate the size of our group they were able to split us into groups (of 6-8 people), each with their own charming and hilarious host, and we could play against each other for time. It was so so so much fun. I don't want to give any of it away, but it's a series of puzzles you have to solve to complete the "game." As I mentioned, I contacted them as a replacement for our holiday party, but it would totally be great as a team building exercise, or virtual birthday celebration. I would highly recommend this as a clever solution to to the kind of virtual get togethers we need right now. They also made me look like a creative hero for booking this for our group so hats of to them! Since I was responsible for booking, I can say that all of my communication with the company was super prompt and professional. I can wait for what they come up with next!

I'm compelled to mention that if this company can make an entertaining/enjoyable online experience...in the time of covid where we are all sick of zoom, the "real life" experience must be even more AMAZING. What a creative group of people to come up with this lemonade out of the CovidLemons of 2020. Kudos to team Purple Crayon!) Our group played a puzzle called "Tough Luck" and I'm not going to tell you anything about the actual puzzle (I think it is cooler to go in without knowing much) other than it was about 100 times more fun than I thought it was going to be, and I loved the way it pulled on different people's strengths to figure out the puzzle. Our host was great. Funny. Deadpan. Did not ever break character, and rolled with everything. I really enjoyed the evening and I was a bummed when it was over. My team sent about eleventy billion texts to each other when it was over about how fun it was. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an outside of the box get together, and if I was every in New York I'd love to try the traditional experience.

In my humble opinion, the talent that comes out to perform at this venue are some of the bet musicians in all of New York. The crowd is welcoming, supportive and really open-minded. From poetry and comedy to punk music, rap, indie, rock and country.. the range of artistry here has no bounds. The theme last night was to dress as your favorite musician and perform their covers. I went as Post Malone and really enjoyed the crowds reaction to my set. Colleen, one of the hosts is always so friendly and welcoming. She even performs herself! Mike, the sound guy extraordinaire, works wonders from behind the sound booth. He's always adjusting levels on the fly and helping each performer sound their very best. And can you believe it... this open mic is free! Just be sure to bring some cash to drop in their magical tip bucket, which helps all wishes come true from the tipper.

My birthday parties are always a vibe but having him host took it to another level. On the day of the party, he came over to set everything up before the party and did a sound check. I appreciated his organization and promptness. He brought his wife Roni with him to assist with the party. She is the sweetest lady ever. Once the party started, he made sure that we had fun non-stop. I have some reserved friends, you know the ones who love to attend but prefer to be wallflowers. Jay was able to get them involved in the games and they left saying it was the most fun they ever had.
