I planned a last minute surprise sweet 16 for my daughter and I found MVP on an internet search for a DJ. Mike is awesome! I could tell from the initial conversation that I was going to like him! He arrived early to set up, was extremely neat, nice and easy to work with. He came with his own lighting which transformed the room. The kids had a great time and were singing and dancing. I've had the pleasure of working with Mike, the owner of MVP DJ Entertainment, on two occasions. The first time I worked with Mike was several years ago, when I was a volunteer helping to run a trivia night fundraiser at my children's school. I wasn't the coordinator of that event and wasn't involved in the planning; I worked the concession stand selling refreshments and raffles. However, there was a good deal of down time and I was able to observe Mike's manner and how he interacted with the crowd. To say Mike was funny would be an understatement. He read the crowd perfectly, and everyone was kept entertained; at times the room would explode in laughter. He also kept things moving and always kept the players engaged. As a volunteer, just standing in the back of the room watching, not even participating in the game, I still had a lot of fun. It was my observations of Mike and how he ran that event that made me seek him out when I ran my own trivia night. The school year after I first met Mike, I transferred my children to a different school. After settling in, I approached the administration about running a trivia night fundraiser there. I had lost Mike's contact information and it took me several months of searching and asking around to find Mike (there are a lot of trivia hosts out there) but I finally was able to track him down. I contacted Mike initially on October 9th (with the event already on the school calendar for October 20th). We didn't have much time to plan but Mike was on the ball and got everything planned and coordinated at a moments notice. Unfortunately, Mike himself was not available but he assured me that his other hosts were just as fun. I was skeptical but took Mike at his word and he didn't let me down. We ended up having Jeremy as our host and he was VERY well received. Jeremy was as fun and engaging as Mike was. I also got comments for some of the women in attendance that Jeremy was "nice to look at." I got the impression that some of them wanted to try and take Jeremy home with them. Maybe that's a selling point for you, maybe not. Bottom line, trivia night was a great success thanks to MVP DJ Entertainment. Mike and his crew were awesome for my daughter's sweet 16 this past Spring. By the night of her party I felt like we were friends since we spoke so much in the time leading up to the party. He was patient with my daughter with all her changes and last minute add ons. He fulfilled every request she had for songs, speeches, special dances and of course her candles. He made her night magical and I couldn't have asked for a better DJ/MC for that night. The photographer and the woman that ran the photo booth were amazing. The best wedding experience ever!!!! I started planning my wedding reception a year ago and Mike Hope and MVP productions were with us all the way through. I booked photography, limo, flowers , dj services and lighting not to mention I booked my venue based on their suggestions. What was very valuable was the attention to detail and willingness to meet throughout the year before to solidify details. Even with a very busy schedule they were accessible at all times. We had our wedding on a Sunday, October 2012 at the Swan Club in Roslyn. According to many of our guests, it was the best wedding they ever attended! Guests kept raving about the food, music and entertainment. This was due to the hard work of our vendors, who made the entire event a huge success! MVP Productions provided the MC/DJ, additional mood lighting, music for the ceremony/reception and Zap Photos. In addition, Mike Hope, the owner, choreographed our first dance, which was a hit! My husband and I are absolutely thrilled on how well everything turned out and definitely recommend the Swan Club and MVP Productions for your needs. Here is a detailed description of everything MVP did to make our day special: Lighting and accessories - Mike offers several different packages, and is pretty flexible on meeting what we wanted. We went with one of medium packages, which include the mood lighting for the reception room. This really made a difference to the atmosphere and is a lot less distracting than disco lights. We decided to add on the Zap Photos option, which at first we had reservations about. It turned out to be a huge hit, with our guests hamming it up when the photographer came by. Throughout the night, we can hear them cheering whenever their photos came back up on the monitor. Plus, it is a great way to get photos that your professional wedding photographer will miss since they are too busy following you around. After the wedding, Mike provides all the photos to you on a disc so you can start sharing them to friends and family. One more addition we requested was glow necklaces, which he can provide at a great price. I had looked online and in stores for options and found that the cost adds up and plus you would need to find someone to distribute them during the reception. Mike does all this for you at a very reasonable price. Music - As for music, at first my husband and I went a little nuts over-thinking what we would like and had a long list of songs, but at the end, we ended up just trusting Mike and DJ Ian's judgment on what to play for the reception. For our ceremony and key reception events, we had specific songs in mind, and they did a great job on the timing and coordination. During the reception, DJ Ian did a great job sticking to our play and do-not play lists. I was at first skeptical about having rock songs since they are kind of hard to dance to and wanted more hip-hop, however DJ Ian managed to play a wide variety of genres and not lose people on the dance floor. Everyone was up there dancing, young and old and having a great time. Mike's outgoing personality really got the party moving as well as he emceed the entire night. Many guests complimented on what a great job the dj and emcee did and how they never had more fun at a wedding before. First dance - Being non-dancers, but willing to try, my husband and I decided that we wanted to do something different and fun for the first dance especially since I am not one for slow dancing. We looked into many different song options until we decided on Richard Cheese's rendition of the Star War's Imperial March. Mike definitely thought this was an interesting choice when we first told him, but I could see his mind whirling when he listened to the song. At the end, he determined that a jazz swing dance would be most fitting. I warned him that we are not coordinated and can't do anything too complex, but after 10 dance lessons, you never would have guessed it. The short, less than 3 minute song included several twirls and a dip and we pulled it off with all the guests cheering. Centerpiece game - As part of the program, we wanted to have a mini scavenger hunt game to give away the centerpieces instead of the traditional pass the object game. While we created the game pieces and rules ourselves, Mike and his team coordinated the participants, judged the winners and pass out the prize tickets. Mike used his game show host personality to persuade everyone to participate and the guests had a lot of fun with this twist to the giveaway. read more

But most of all, he listened to us and was flexible at every turn. Everyone had a blast at our wedding, and each moment ran so smoothly.
