Doctor is great. I had one short visit with him only to be referred to a specialist. Office staff…read morescheduled a phantom follow up appointment without my knowledge, and now are asking me to pay $85 for not coming to an appointment I never scheduled. I called because of chest pains and they refused me an appointment because they wanted me to pay $85 to them. They said they would waive it during my last call but today they again asked for the $85. No issue with the doctor but the office staff is sub-par and dealing with my medical records. Safe to say, I will not be going there again.

As with most doctors, if you have somewhere to be, make your appointment for first thing in the morning or the last appointment of the day. Dr. Gallini likes to talk with his patients, which has the potential negative side effect of always running a bit behind schedule. But I'll take 10-15 minutes behind schedule over a doctor who rushes me through like a product on an assembly line. If you need to make a routine appointment (physical, etc.) call the office as early as possible. The schedule for routine appointments fills up REALLY quickly. It's pretty common to make a yearly physical appointment 2-3 months out. That being said, though, I have been able to get more urgent issues seen much more quickly (sometimes even the same day.) Plan ahead when you can and cross your fingers when you can't! ;o) The office staff is, largely, good. There are several of the office ladies who have been there for awhile and know what's going on. You'll figure out who they are pretty quickly. There are also several positions that change personnel regularly. This seems to be true at many doctor's offices. Just keep notes of who you talk to, date/time, etc. JUST IN CASE you run into issues and need to reference your contact. But I think that's just good practice in general. OVERALL: The fact that I have been coming to this practice since I was a small child and I now bring my own children here for medical care should speak volumes for what I think of these folks. They are good people who truly care about their patients.

I'll update my review later down the road but I'd feel remiss not giving 5 stars from the get-go; at only a few days post-op I am off all PPIs, active, and understand any discomfort I'm feeling. I also have a thorough list of foods to eat each week of my recovery. There have been no surprises and that tells me how well prepared I was for the procedure. When I was in the recovery room the nurse checked my incisions and actually remarked that "it must be Dr. Gillian" and every nurse/practitioner I encountered seemed to hold his work in equally high esteem. My Mom was an RN for over 35 years and always used to joke "one of them graduates top of the class, the other last, but they both wear a white coat..." It's pretty clear that Dr. Gillian and Divya are metaphorical top of their class and even teach/lecture in the field. It's not about the reputation to me but rather knowing they have done so many of these that if some odd thing went left, they would know how to react. One note: Dr. Gillian is not going to baby you or dispense platitudes. In my case, managing my weight aggressively is a significant part of my care. I was prepared to hear that and though in the moment I might've wished for a gentler "delivery", I prefer honesty and facts - I have plenty of friends and family to be gentle. And, by following instructions pre-procedure to the letter, I have already dropped 13 lb (12 pre-surgery). This feels like a new lease on life. Will update down the road once even more healed, but see this practice. After 40-some years of reflux at all different ages and weights, I am so glad I did.

I found Dr. Gillian to be an attentive and caring doctor, taking the time to explain everything to me. Record your interactions with the people in the ER…read more DO NOT GO TO THE ER HERE AT ALL if you can. It's a money grab. I was told by a doctor named Steven Chen that he wasn't going to help someone like me. Who is like me? Waited 3 hrs for help and was treated like an animal once I wanted to expose the way I was getting treated. The nurses demanded I leave and didn't want to help once Chen said something to them. I never yelled or was angry. I just said i was going to record them. They WILL ADD THEIR OWN OPINIONS AND HOW THEY FEEL ONTO YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS. NO FACTS OR PROOF NEEDED. Chen even put in my medical notes. I was highly upset because I didn't get high-level medication. After the fact, he said what he said to me and threw my papers in my lap and walked out. After not getting assistance for 2 hours.. he was more upset i was going to record him. Way more than me being neglected and talked down to. Trying to cover his own actions, falsifying my medical records to make it look like it's about medication and not his neglect as a doctor, along with his unnecessary comments. I said multiple times that I just needed help at that moment. He even pressed on my injured area 3 times and saw my pain. Why hurt your patient and not even do anything to help. I felt like he didn't see me as human, especially when the nurse came and just pulled my iv out of my arm and said, "You need to leave. ".. NO hi or are you okay.. just yanks my iv out, and i need to leave. Idk why I even had an IV to start.. no one told me what was happening, and one nurse told me to shhh when I asked questions about my x-rays. I'm at the ER for a reason, I needed HELP. Couldn't manage the pain on my own any longer. When I asked for pain relief, "You're not getting it from me," Is what Chen said. I asked for another doctor, and he leaned back against the counter, crossed his legs, laughs, and said he was the only. You can tell he enjoyed having power over my pain. They are not here to help US. On top of that, Brian Miller from INOVA compliance department calls so I can make a statement to INOVA and says, " Well, what do you want me to do about it?" Its like no one wants to do their job. They don't care about "people like me" I'm trying to figure out still, who's like me? Who do I need to be to get help?.. it's scary that doctors don't have to actually help and they can say what they want and get away with it. RECORD NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY..they don't want you to because they are acting very foul there.

It is a health facility. I went upstairs to the office and people were sitting and one woman was standing on a blue floor circle waiting for one of two female staffer behind the window to take their name and reason for the visit. One staffer was helping a woman and had to verbalize to the staffer closest to the entry door to the office a few times that I was standing there and waiting. I am tall and hard to miss. It gave the impression that she did not want to help me, especially when I noticed how she rapidly helped other people who came in and stood on one of the two blue circles (helps with socially distancing I believe). Also, I had to go downstairs to get an Xray and was visibly in discomfort, yet one of the female staffers behind a window made me walk over a few times (different counters) and then told me to sign in on the other side, etc. I got the impression that she did not want to do her job and could care less if someone is in pain or not.

Dr. Marcus met with me and together we decided to proceed with 3 PRP injections. My knee feels like it did 10 years ago! Dr. Marcus is one of the best local orthopedic surgeons with a focus on sports-related injuries. He is one of the frontrunners in cartilage regeneration and uses micro fracture and PRP injections. Office staff was great and Dr. Marcus made me feel very confident about the outcome. Surgery was quick and went well. Rehab was done at the physical therapist co-located with his Springfield office. I may have lost a few degrees of rsnge of motion (expected and disclosed beforehand), but was ablemto return to golf after about 6-month recovery/rehab. No problems since (3years). Late last fall I developed tennis elbow as a result of overuse playing/practicing golf. Went to see Dr. Marcus again. Same great experience. He evaluated the pain and used ultrasound to look for tears/fraying. He gave me the option of a cortisone or platelet rich plasma (PRP) injection. PRP is the new-age alternative to cortisone. They draw your blood and spin it down in a centrifuge and inject a high concentration of platelet rich plasma at the site of inflammation. It's basically the same concept as with microfrature use stem cells to allow the body to heal itself. It's still considered experimental in the US - so it's considered elective and costs almost $1500 vs a cortisone injection. However since it's your body's own cells there is no limit to the number of injections like there is with cortisone shots. Anyway Dr. Marcus numbed my elbow and gave me multiple injections while using the ultrasound to ensure he was hitting the right spots and not damaging the tendons. Pain releif was immediate. Started wearing a Band-It elbow brace and have not had any further issues. Can't say enough about Dr. Marcus's bedside manner and confident attitude. He sees so many young high school athletes with severe injuries that my aging 40 year old issues are cake. Thanks Doc!!!
