Cheese pizza

I *love* Galley! Located in Stratford Hills in a nondescript shopping center, Galley has both options for dining in and to go. I've yet to order anything mediocre from their menu, and their service is consistently great. For one, their pizza is top-tier. Really some of the best you can find outside of the northeast. I love their basic cheese. Their nachos are incredible as well, but note that they are MASSIVE. We needed two to-go boxes for our leftovers. They easily could've been the entire meal. Order them with pork! I've also enjoyed brunch at Galley. Their Italian frittata is soooo good and is teeming with cheese. I wish I had tried them earlier than this past summer. Since then, I've had a few great experiences. On my last visit, they even had 2000s emo music playing. Made me so happy.

Chicken fried steak on greens and mashed potatoes

After finding this place a few months ago I go whenever I just want good food, great drinks and wonderful staff. My grandkids and I ended up there since their parents went out for their anniversary. The kids always get the same, Levi loves their hamburgers and Mary wants the French dip. I tried a Bianca pizza this time. I loved it ! Our server AJ was so nice and on top of everything even though it was a busy night. I like the homey vibe. It reminds me of a neighbor hangout. I love it!!

GREAT food, great people, wonderful environment. We regularly enjoy hanging out, eating, drinking, and chatting it up with Randy, AJ, Laura, Rachel, Ellen, Mallan, and all the other amazing staff. The new remodeled bar is one of our favorite hangouts. Go team Galley!

We sat outside on this gorgeous 72 degree day in May! I loved the seating and the big open window with a view of the restaurant. Inside the tin ceiling is eye-catching and the open seating creates a friendly, welcoming vibe. But this is more than a restaurant, it's also a gourmet food shop! There are shelves, bins, and coolers full of unique gourmet foods... they carry cheeses, frozen foods (Nightingale ice cream), freshly Prepared salads, international groceries, chips and other snacks, cookies & candies, nuts, coffee, teas, spices, salsas... and much more! I purchased quite a few items!! I chose from the breakfast menu: eggs, a slightly sweet (maple?) bacon, baguette toast, with a side of avocado. The food was ok, but the eggs weren't made to my request, and the avocado was past its prime, but the rest was fine. Our server was pleasant and attentive, and the prices were reasonable. One caveat: the restrooms were not tidy to say the least. I mentioned that to the staff when we left, so hopefully they took care of it. It's a shame that some discustomers leave public restrooms such a mess. Ugh!

A delicious piece of pizza!! This place is comfortable and the staff is friendly. The prices are reasonable and they have free refills on sodas. During the summer months, it's cooler toward the back of the restaurant

Bacon, egg, & cheese sandwich with side of fruit

I had a great meal at Galley with even better service. I loved the panini-styled bacon/egg/cheese sandwich, and there was lots of fruit as the side. One of the servers offered I try their house hot sauce, and it lives up to the hype. This place is great, and even has a to-go market attached to it. Parking is easy, and the prices are fair. I definitely see myself coming back soon.

Cuban sandwich with beans and rice.

Beans and rice were good but the sandwich is the star here with marinated pork and VA ham. Looking forward to coming back to try their breakfast menu.

Great neighborhood restaurant. The kind of place where you'll find good friends and food at prices that allow frequent visits.

It's a self serve system where you pay at the end and they give you a card which makes you feel like you're at Dave and busters but instead of playing games you play slots of alcohol. Right when we walked in we were greeted by the staff and asked if it was our first time. They quickly told us the concept and showed us how to pour. They even have different size glasses and flight holders, they have plenty of beer varieties and host some of the local signatures from breweries located right in here Richmond. They have some wine options as well. There's a outdoor seating area as well for warmer weather but it was a chilly night so not too many people were utilizing that option. We had some issues though. Maybe it was because it was our first time or the keg lines just needed readjusting but some of the pours we did came it straight foam. One of the staff saw this though and quickly went over to us to try and help us. But it still gave some issue afterwards. There's also limited seating, it's not the biggest place so once it's gets a decent amount of people there's no where to sit. We would go back when it's warmer weather out to so we can grab any of our favorite local brews and chill outside and enjoy Carytown

They have a variety of glassware on hand in different sizes, so it's easy to create your own flight or to just pour a full pint. I had never visited a similar establishment in the past, so I had about 20 questions on how to operate everything. Here's the rundown: 1) Walk up to the cashier and give them your credit card. They will swipe it, give it back, and provide a card to access the taps. 2) Check the TV screen for the full digital listing of their available taps, or walk right up to the taps and read each individually. You can click on the beer name for a full description, including style, price per ounce, and abv. 3) Pick a glass, place the access card in the little slot, be sure you're on the main screen, and then pull the tap handle that corresponds to the beer. Each screen has two, with the taps beneath. Hold your glass at a 45-degree angle unless you're pouring cider, in which case it doesn't really matter. 4) Take your card, pick a seat or stand, and drink your beer. Repeat. 5) When you're ready to leave, walk back up to the cashier, choose your method of payment (I chose to just leave it on the same card...easy), select a tip, sign, and you're good to go. I tried six samples during my time there -- all about 3-4 ounces or less -- and paid $12 pre-tip. This is an excellent place to try a variety of beers. I imagine most names are recognizable...they carry stuff from Ardent and Isley, among other local and regional spots, but others aren't the easiest to find, such as Funky Buddha. RVA Draft Room is in the same open-format building as Zzaam, a tea place I forget the name of, and Sweet & Sassy BBQ. It's also centrally situated in Carytown. I didn't like the seating...I found it really uncomfortable. I think they need to invest in purse hooks and perhaps some stools with backs. I had to keep standing up to avoid hurting my back. Beyond the subpar seating, everything else was nice, and I think it's cool that they offer free tasting events as well. I'm sure I'll return at some point!

While I sorely miss Circuit Arcade Bar that used to be in this spot, Parlay has shown itself to be a welcome addition to the Scott's Addition family. Their happy hour prices are excellent, beer and liquor selection is quite good (Coors Banquet!), and the food is a nice bonus as well. I have only had good experiences with the service so far, and their rewards program is nice with a $5 birthday reward to liven things up. Parking in Scott's has always been a pain, though at least for Parlay they have a parking lot (though it's quite small, maybe about 12 spots, so plan on street parking). The convenience is nice if you're planning on hitting other bars too, as Strangeways is right across the street. I happened to swing by when they were setting up for a wrestling event one time, and they regularly host other events as well, so that's a nice bonus. They have a good amount of bar seating and tables, though not so much for larger groups so if you are with one you might need to split things up a bit. I intend to continue keeping Parlay as one of my top three places to grab a drink, and if you haven't tried them yet, swing by and see if they belong on your list too! Overall: 5.0 stars ---- Pros: - Great happy hour specials. - Solid food and drink selection. - Excellent service. - Cool events. Cons: - Scott's parking is always tough but at least having a lot is more than most places can say. They're worth spot-hunting for!

There's a cool greenery area located directly in front with a few picnic benches and umbrellas, perfect for enjoying the warm weather. We tried the chip shot (chips with salsa verde and queso dips), pizzas, and wings (Korean bbq and spicy Asian). I wasn't a fan of the queso, it was room temperature, had a weird consistency, and no flavor. The wings were pretty good and literally were falling off of the bone. The pizza was excellent! I ordered cheese pizza and added provolone and queso fresco. I definitely wasn't expecting the pizza to be that good so it was a nice surprise. A dj was also playing a mix of house/90's hits that we enjoyed as well. Our bartender was super sweet and did a great job taking our orders, remembering our modifications, and checking on us! Will definitely be back! Kaicee our bartender, took care of us

It was a tricky life I was living going to school in the City. The burger is excellent. The fries are great. The beer tastes like beer. It's simple, but I love it. It can be a bit packed, so maybe make this a solo endeavor if you're really feeling fat. You can always find a spot at the bar. The parking, not easy for most. But for me, I'm not scared to maybe park in a spot that's not reserved for Jack Browns Customers. I may sweat it for a second, but don't let that potentially 2 block walk stray you away from a delicious burger.

To their credit, they do have a good draft/bottle beer list, and their burgers are indeed good. However, that's really all there is to recommend them. The parking situation here is absolutely awful and starts things off on a bad note. Their absence of a waitlist system made it awkward while our party waited to get a table and other groups waiting for a table jockeyed for position, and they took forever to clean it off even after the previous party had left. While it was nice of my compatriots to pay for my dinner, the server refused to split our checks, which made it especially obnoxious for my friends who had ordered significantly less than others since they were still on the hook for the even split. If this had been the only service issue it might have been somewhat forgivable, but the server all but disappeared for most of the evening after taking our orders, particularly when most of us ran dry before our food finally arrived. This all might be excusable in a cheaper place, but Jack Brown's is NOT cheap anymore, they are just as overpriced as every other "bougie burger" spot around without a valid justification for it. At the end of the evening, I looked really dumb for choosing this place. That is definitely not a mistake I will make twice. Overall: 2.0 stars --- Pros: - Excellent draft and bottle beer list. - Burgers are good and unique. Cons: - Recent price increases kill the value proposition of this spot, just not worth it anymore when there are SO many options around for this sort of thing. - Weird seating/waitlist situation makes for a bad first impression. - Service was incredibly low energy, and as I can attest to as a former restaurant server myself, a party of eight needs some effort to get things right. - Parking here sucks, this area desperately needs at least one parking garage to make it less of an exercise in frustration to get here in the first place.
