Came back on a Sunday afternoon. Cool brunch menu with a great array of choices. I was in a salad mood and the mixed greens with shaved fennel and asparagus was very nice. Good greens with a light lemon dressing. The manchego cheese is shredded, which is a bit odd. Busy day, so a couple folks shared service. We still grabbed a nice cozy booth. I *love* Galley! Located in Stratford Hills in a nondescript shopping center, Galley has both options for dining in and to go. I've yet to order anything mediocre from their menu, and their service is consistently great. For one, their pizza is top-tier. Really some of the best you can find outside of the northeast. I love their basic cheese. Their nachos are incredible as well, but note that they are MASSIVE. We needed two to-go boxes for our leftovers. They easily could've been the entire meal. Order them with pork! I've also enjoyed brunch at Galley. Their Italian frittata is soooo good and is teeming with cheese. I wish I had tried them earlier than this past summer. Since then, I've had a few great experiences. On my last visit, they even had 2000s emo music playing. Made me so happy. read more

We sat outside on this gorgeous 72 degree day in May! I loved the seating and the big open window with a view of the restaurant. Inside the tin ceiling is eye-catching and the open seating creates a friendly, welcoming vibe. But this is more than a restaurant, it's also a gourmet food shop! There are shelves, bins, and coolers full of unique gourmet foods... they carry cheeses, frozen foods (Nightingale ice cream), freshly Prepared salads, international groceries, chips and other snacks, cookies & candies, nuts, coffee, teas, spices, salsas... and much more! I purchased quite a few items!! I chose from the breakfast menu: eggs, a slightly sweet (maple?) bacon, baguette toast, with a side of avocado. The food was ok, but the eggs weren't made to my request, and the avocado was past its prime, but the rest was fine. Our server was pleasant and attentive, and the prices were reasonable. One caveat: the restrooms were not tidy to say the least. I mentioned that to the staff when we left, so hopefully they took care of it. Y'all just about the best pizza we have had in a long time. Crust is perfect cheese is right We got the sausage fennel. And as it's my birthday on Valentines day we have to find alternatives to night out at a restaurant so we ordered the Paella which we both loved, with some big ole salads much less the cornbread that comes with it . One of the servers offered I try their house hot sauce, and it lives up to the hype. This place is great, and even has a to-go market attached to it. Parking is easy, and the prices are fair. I love the prepared food section in Galley, but I especially love the curry cauliflower and the Szechaun noodles!! I probably get it for lunch more than I should, but they are just that damn good. Went to Galley last night after learning Natalie's had revamped their menu in the most disappointing way (for me personally, YMMV). We used to go here all the time and it will always hold a special place in my heart. We visited many times before, during, and after our move to RVA back in 2016. We hadn't gone for a while so I was hoping it was as it was back before it had a bit of a (service-related) slump shortly before the pandemic. I'm happy to report that it exceeded expectations, Galley is at least as good as it ever was if not better. I had the greens salad with salmon, they always do salmon perfectly and the nuts, dried cranberries and especially the feta on that salad made it something special. Wife had the falafel pocket (only bummer is no more lentil burger) and was super pleased with it. And they have Vinho Verde on the menu, a welcome site as we just discovered it in Portugal this summer. Can't wait to go back. Love the galley. I typically sit at the bar and eat lunch. The specials are always good and the rachel and other menu items fill the need for those classic diner cravings. If u want a good cup of coffee or a cold beer they got u covered. Some of the best service in the industry by the same people that first brought me my food the first time I ate at the Galley. So if u keep your staff and you serve good food........people will come. Myself included! Also a great spot to bring friends family visiting to Richmond. Not as trendy as the fan but easier parking and honestly great food. We came here as a large party for our book club. Galley doesn't take reservations so we just showed up promptly at open to get a table with enough seats. We had one server for a table of around 11 people, and he did his hardest to keep us refreshed and happy! The spicy bloody Mary's are delicious. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time due to its high reviews. While I liked it fine, I certainly wasn't blown away. The food is standard American fare, though I will say they had some surprising and long list of sides such as collard greens (which were different... tomato-y, and good). The pork on the Cuban sandwich was dry, which made the entire sandwich dry, since it's mostly pork. My friend's nachos looked all one color and not very appetizing. Service was super duper friendly, but slow. Definitely a hot spot on southside. I don't really do southside, so I can't say I'd try it again for different menu items, but I'm glad I finally checked it off the list. read more

The food was good, I wasn't knocked over by the pesto and mozzarella chicken sandwich as it could have used a tad more seasoning! We hit this busy place on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. It was crowded both inside and out but we were able to snag a table without having to wait. There was no sign about whether you had to wait to be seated so after about a minute of waiting for the hosted we decided to grab the open booth close to the door. A server did come over after seating another group so I'm still not sure if you pick your own table or you're supposed to be seated. Good luck! Our server was friendly but rushed so I was a little nervous about the rest of our dining experience. Good news though because everything turned out great! I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and it was incredible. A large amount of yummy food for a good price. If I didn't eat so much I may have tried dessert but I was waaaay too full.
