The space was beautiful, the scenery amazing, and the overall vibe was definitely on point. What stood out the most, however, was the attentiveness and professionalism of your security staff and a gentleman I believe to be the manager or possibly the owner--Hasim or Hassan. A member of our party was not feeling well, and the staff responded immediately and with genuine concern. Security approached quickly, checked in, and asked whether an ambulance was needed. These are standard procedures, but as we all know, they aren't always handled so smoothly. The manager came over shortly after, took her vitals, brought water and ice, and even moved a large commercial fan to help her cool down. He returned with candy and remained attentive throughout--kind, responsive, and truly caring. It didn't feel like he was doing it out of obligation, but from a place of genuine concern. It's easy to overlook these moments, but I wanted to say thank you. Your team turned what could have been a scary situation into a moment that highlighted compassion and professionalism. Much respect!

It's perfect if you just want to wander, try a few different bites, and chill for a bit. This is the second time I come to visit for the hot sauce expo. I have been a huge fan of IC since Morlene, several years ago became Brooklyn Elite CM, highlighted it. Back then IC had a few shops, restaurants and some events. Today, IC has exploded for a variety of reasons. Let's take a closer look shall we? A. Dining/AKA Food Hall When I first started patronizing this huge space, there was Japanese Village, Sunrise Mart, Sahadi's, Colson Patisserie, End's Meat. Now, there is an eclectic variety of the most wonderful eateries. Here are a few Fawn faves: 1. Burger Joint: my newest obsession. The impossible burger is out of this world. Don't let the name fool you; these burgers put the Capital G in gourmet. Is it possible for an impossible burger to be heavenly? Yup! 2. Table 87: put that frozen Table 87 pizza back in the freezer, leave grocery and proceed to Table 87 in IC. The pizza is fresh and the dough is flying..The mushroom slices are out of this world! 3. Japan Village: I still have to dine inside but the California Roll to go is always fresh and delicious. Sunrise Mart inside JV carries the most delicious frozen treats, pocki, earthenware, fresh fish and more! 4 .Sahadi's: Breakfast Saj Sandwich is a Fawn Fave that consists of Eggs, Grilled Halloumi, Harissa Aioli, Greens, Arugula salad.. scrumptious! Brunch served Saturday and Sunday 11-3. 5. Taco Mix: taqueria serving scrumptious tacos, I love the street tacos. B. Shopping: Here's a few Fawn faves: West Elm outlet was the big draw for me when I started patronizing IC. The rugs and home decor have been schlepped from IC to Bay Ridge time and time again! The service is outstanding and WE was so popular it left Building 2 and relocated to s bigger beautiful space. Brooklyn Candle: attended an Elite Event this past winter and the variety of candles and scents are amazing! I purchased the Brooklyn and Maui scented candles and they smell out of this world. Daiso Daiso offers a one-stop-shop experience with over 100,000 products ranging from Japanese-inspired home decor to stationery and food. The offerings are plentiful and the service is very friendly. C. Special Events: IC has a monthly calendar that features a wide range of events to attend. From pub crawls, karaoke, pottery and crafts, you can find a plethora of activities and events to participate. Sahadi's in the past would host mini live concerts in their Al fresco dining area. As you can see, Industry City offers something for everyone! Industry City 220 36th Street Take R to 36th, 5 minute walj

PROS: This…read moreneighborhood venue is a local choice for events. It can accommodate fifty people comfortably. The area is well-populated, so you won't have to worry about being stranded after an event at night. Parking will be very limited prepare early. Public transportation is conveniently located nearby, and the venue is clean and well-lit upon arrival. It is a side street but not far off 5th Avenue. The person on hand was friendly and helpful, and they're always ready to assist you with lighting, tables, or AC adjustments. Knowing some Spanish is helpful, maybe that was just my experience. Proud to say we did! The facilities were cleaned when you arrive. CONS: The event space is on the second floor, which means it's not accessible for people with wheelchairs, walkers, or canes. There's no elevator to bring up food, drinks, decorations, or equipment. Also, remember to bring extra toiletries for the bathroom. The bar area is small, so you can only store a few bottles below. There's a long ice chest below for stocking cold drinks, and there's an ice maker on site behind the bar. Overall, I'd give this venue three stars for the experience. All you need is a plan and people to execute it, and it can be a nice venue for your event.

I had my baby shower at Sunset Social and paid an additional $400 on top of their $1200 fee. I also added a throne chair for $150. When I got to the facility, they did not set up as they agreed, leaving us (including my pregnant self) to have to set up late. They gave me my paid-for throne chair at the end of our baby shower after having to ask them for it. I paid the $400 for the 360 photo booth, but they never provided the service because their photo booth operator got drunk and broke the equipment. (as I was told via phone call from JOSE RIVERA, AN ABSOLUTE LIAR WHO SAID HE WOULD REFUND MY MONEY) I was still charged for the service after Jose called to let me know he would not be charging. Both Jose & his gf came into my party, ate our food & drank our liquor (for our guests), all while looking high on drugs. I was mortified having my party at Sunset Social House!!! After I realized Jose was ignoring my messages about my $700 refund, I disputed the charge with my credit card. This is when Jose would reach out to try to "fix" things after initially ignoring me. When we spoke, we decided to let the dispute go through; however, Jose would then tell the credit company that he had already paid me, so my dispute would end with me being responsible. 3 TIMES WE WENT THROUGH THIS SINCE JANUARY. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! I did not get my $300 security deposit back (after we cleaned up after our party), nor did I get my $400 for a service I did not receive. This only gets 1 star because I have to give it that minimally, I give this venue 0 stars.

The venue was lovely and, in the end, everything worked out almost perfectly. This review should be five stars and if it were not for Jason's attitude, it would be. Jason is the operations manager at the venue. He has a holier than thou attitude, seems to have disdain for those who want the event to go smoothly and has this smirk on his face when you ask for something making you feel like an idiot for wanting everything to go smoothly. Everyone who came into contact with Jason felt an immediate dislike toward him. Jason did almost everything that was requested of him and he has some technical competence. However, he clearly has disdain for the common person, gives the impression that he really doesn't give a rip about your event and makes you grovel to get what you need all the while making it clear that a gratuity is expected. He told us where the projector and screen had to be and we could not move it toward the middle. With a little extra work he could have moved them both. In fact, that was the one thing that was not perfect about the event. The slideshow was not seen as well as it could have been because Jason was not willing to put in the extra effort to make it better despite our requests. I walked in the day of the event with my nephew's bassoon. He is a professional symphony musician I said where can I put this to keep it out of the way and so no one will take it. He said, "no one will take your bassoon". Instead of, "how about you place it here and it should be fine," I had to raise my voice and say "this is a $10,000 instrument and I'm not taking a chance. I know you don't care about our event, but I do." The problem is I was afraid to get too assertive with Jason because he may stop helping altogether. Look up passive aggressive in the dictionary and you will see Jason's picture. The day before the event, as we were setting up some electronics, my brother had a question/concern. Jason actually started singing "que sera sera - whatever will be, will be." If there were no complaints about Jason, that would be one thing. However, there are many complaints about Jason over the years. BSEC knows about his behavior and continues to employ him so obviously they don't care or it has not hurt their business because people like us go ahead with the venue anyway. It was so convenient ,,,,,,, This is a lovely venue. However, it comes down to the fact that Jason is really kind of a jerk and he adds to the tension of an already stress filled time. If Jason will be your on site contact and you can find a different venue, I would suggest going elsewhere.

I am giving this place a review because I had my wedding and reception here in 2008…read more I do not know much about what ethical culture is...but my point of view for this review is about the estate, the grounds, and how it worked as the host for a wedding venue. The mansion was built by the Bon Ami cleanser inventor as a gift to his daughter. Dating from 1900, it is an example of neo-Jacobean style. The building faces Prospect Park West and has a large garden. The transom windows are by Louis Comfort Tiffany. There is a library, large interior meeting room with gorgeous beams, and a glass solarium. The yard has a paved patio where the chairs and tables for a wedding reception fit perfectly. There is a side yard where we had the ceremony. We had a live acoustic band and dancing outside. You can put a tent above the dining / patio area in case of rain or too much sun. I consider this place one of the most affordable wedding venues in NYC. The place fits around 110 or less with the patio used for dining and the interior for DJ or loud band. The combination of music played by my friends and dancing outside surrounded by blooming flowers and the lovely space was intoxicating. It made the day very special for my love and for me. Do It Yourself wedding types will enjoy planning a wedding here, it is not a wedding factory...just a beautiful house of worship. The space is inspiring, vintage, retro feeling...kind of like a beautiful old grand dame rising from a nap on her chaise lounge. I had the most memorable day of my life here and will always have a place in my heart for this building and the nice people who keep her in beautiful condition.
