However, my curiosity made me want to check out THNK1994, and I was really glad I did. My sister and I went with my nephew, and I will admit that this place may seem lame if you didn't grow up knowing about this 1994 Olympic scandal. We tried to make our excitement contagious, but he could not be bothered. However, we enjoyed seeing the tabloid covers, memorabilia, and artwork inspired by the Harding/Kerrigan kerfuffle. There was one floor each dedicated to both skaters, and it was fun talking to the owners about the inspiration behind the museum. The museum also has rotating exhibits: when I was there, they had a Real Housewives-inspired show. It's a kitschy, campy place that is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a unique experience!

My friends and family started early with a museum visit. I'm highly recommending you visit either during Harlem Week or any time. I have to admit I was not familiar with this Museum established in 1968. The artists were not familiar names to me. It was definitely enjoyable being in an atmosphere abounding in creative exhibits. My main recommendation is to check out the website first to see if you are open to the experience. If you decide to go buy your tickets in advance. My friend had our tickets. While writing this review, I am enjoying my fav beverage, black tea, in its cafe located on the lower level. I am a writer of prose and fiction. I do a weekly podcast, and once you take their intro class, you can rent the studio for about $25/hour. Super easy process. Honestly, it's one of the most affordable options in NYC if you're trying to get into podcasting or any kind of creative media.

The areas are supposed to be customizable, and I recently attended a party on the 21st floor. The space was more limited than I had expected, but I think it might have been configured as such. For instance, according to its website, it could fit up to 150 guests for a cocktail party or 20-120 guests for a seated dinner, but this setup held about 60-70 patrons. However, it was able to accommodate a coat check, a bar, a DJ station, a photo booth, and a few couches, while still allowing room for attendees to gather in groups and servers to pass out hors d'oeuvres. The party I attended was catered by Abigail Kirsch, and the food was fabulous in both taste and quantity. So, while the Glasshouse Chelsea is pretty far west and not the most convenient, its ability to set the scene for a great event makes it worth the trip, either as an organizer/planner or as an attendee.
