I needed to update professional headshots and got the package with makeup (well-worth it and a must-have I think) with Janelle as the make-up artist and Samantha as the photographer- a superstar team. Samantha was excellent, experienced, fast, and knew exactly what would look good on camera and captured everything I could ask for. Janelle did amazing makeup and was exceptional, making me feel very comfortable and listening closely to what I was hoping for and helped a lot with optimal styling of hair, makeup, etc. This is my third time to return to City Headshots...with the first two times working with Martin about 10 years ago. They have been really excellent all three times, and I would definitely go back again. The booking process and early communications are automated and streamlined. The experience in person is very tailored and personalized and the studio space in Midtown is easy to get to and has a nice comfortable waiting room. We saw a sample of Spike's work through a friend's friend and contacted him right away. He was really responsive and transparent. We asked for samples of his work and he delivered. We asked for meetings, he met with us. He had been great throughout. We are an interracial couple so on the wedding day, we did ceremonies from both sides on ONE day. They worked non-stop that day and we really appreciated that. We had a really packed agenda for the ceremonies and the reception. Spike and his team were really patient and kind to everyone. He was also really funny because we're not the best with poses. Because it was wedding season, we didn't get our pictures until a month after but it was okay! I don't usually write many reviews, but I had a profound experience with The Edit Center and I…read morewanted to share it on here because I looked at these same Yelp reviews before deciding to take the Six Week Art of Editing course last summer and it helped me to make the decision to enroll and I wanted to pay it forward. I came into the program with no background in editing and no prior knowledge of the film/TV industry. I knew that I was looking for a new avenue professionally but wasn't sure what I wanted to retrain in and felt that the clock was ticking on making a decision. I was nervous about the cost because I was working as a nanny and didn't have much in the way of income to put towards education. However, taking the class was a transformative experience and my only regret is not doing it sooner. As a craft, editing has satisfied both my creative and practical appetites. As a profession, I am happy to be going into a field with plenty of available work and good pay. I would have never made these invaluable discoveries without The Edit Center. I had tried (and failed) to teach myself other software my own; I knew that what I really craved was the infrastructure of being in an intensive class where I could learn a lot FAST, ask questions, and do it alongside a group of supportive peers. The Edit Center provided me with great training; the teachers are exceptional and gave me a strong grounding in AVID and an understanding of the contours of the profession itself. The curriculum has been tested and developed over many years and gives a good balance of both the artistic and the technical. I formed tight bonds with my classmates and I genuinely looked forward to going into class every day. The work was challenging and fun and I came out of the class with a lot of confidence. I got a job as a post PA on a feature film within a matter of weeks after completing the course. I'm at the beginning of my journey, but I know that I am well equipped to begin to take on the roles I'm seeking as an assistant editor in the narrative feature film world. I also took the AE Crash Course and it is a great edition to the all-ready wonderful Six Week Art of Editing course. I cannot recommend The Edit Center highly enough and am very grateful for all of their support!
