Ramscale Studio is a unique N.Y.C. event location that gives the client the opportunity to bring a vision to life. This space is bare and ready for a designer or wedding planner to come in and work their magic. I'd high recommend hugging a professional to design and customize the space as you are only renting only the venue and have to bring in everything else (furniture, decor, food, serving staff, etc.) to go in it. The place has two bathrooms, a couple different levels with stairs, a terrace with a beautiful view of the Hudson River and a back area with a couple refrigerators and plenty of space where you can store everything that shouldn't be seen by guests. There is a spot in a corner up some stairs where you can have dejay set up or you can connect your own decide to play music through Sonos. Every window you look out of provides a spectacular view of the vast city or the water. It's on the top floor of the building in the penthouse that has a guard on the first floor and two elevators. People actually inhabit the lower floors. The current Ramscale studio director Madeline is a joy to work with in that she's timely in her email responses and very helpful all the way around in answering any questions that come up. read more

Ramscale is a unique event venue in the penthouse space of the old Bell Laboratories building in the heart of New York's Greenwich Village. From the huge windows and the over-sized patio, you can catch beautiful Hudson River sunsets and glimpses of how the well-to-do live since Bono and Nicole Kidman's buildings are just a few blocks away (trust me, I spent some time wishing I had some high-powered binoculars...) We hosted a launch event for a client here, and at first glimpse were kind of in awe of and surprised by the unique quality of the site and weren't sure it was what we wanted (since we booked it sight unseen.) We worked with the venue manager Rocky (the best,) to make it our own through A/V set ups, moving furniture and all of the visual fixins provided by our event company Events By Dano (see review,) and it really ended up being a fantastic place to work with. No stuffy ballroom, no crappy, dirty, overdone nightclub space; Ramscale provides you with something different and unique. Pros: - great space with great stories and history and a one-of-a-kind view of the Village and the Hudson - amazing management by Rocky; available for anything, ready for anything and gives the best tips on good food you can order in during your event set-up. Flexible, accommodating, laid-back and friendly but professional. - the place is completely white, so it serves as a blank canvas to bring in whatever colors you need whether for a corporate event or for a wedding or other special event. Cons: - It's a few blocks from the 2 closest subway stops and it's nearly impossible to catch a cab on the West Side Hwy following. Bottom line? Not the most convenient of places as compared to a venue in Midtown. - It can be a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. read more

I was recently married at Ramscale and I can't rave enough about the space. The views from the terrace and inside the loft are simply excellent, the location is fantastic, and the space manager Rocky was great to work with and very helpful. She's flexible and laid back, and always professional. Perhaps our favorite aspect was selecting the artwork for the walls during our reception to make it really special. Art director Danette Koke was incredibly helpful. It's a versatile space and does not feel weddingy. They host all kinds of events, and it just feels like a unique, hip spot. The only cons I'd mention are that the stairs are tricky for long gowns and high heels (my mother-in-law ripped the back of her dress on the stairs). Also, one of the two bathrooms was shut down toward the end of the night due to a broken toilet. And last, though you can bring in any caterer of your choice, we went their recommended caterer, Marcey Brownstein, and were not overly impressed with them. If I were to do it all over again, I would go with a different caterer in that space. But Ramscale is awesome and I hope to go back sometime for an art show or another event because my husband and I truly love the space. read more

I held my wedding reception at Ramscale in October of 2001 and only have positive things to say about the space and the staff. I had to reschedule my wedding due to 9/11 and when I met and saw the Ramscale owners, they saved my day. I was able to change my venue within 2 days because of Ramscale. The caterer they recommended was spot-on and everything was done efficiently and thoroughly. Many loft spaces are too white and too large which would require expensive flower arrangements and lighting, but Ramscale's size and existing features looked amazing simply with nominal decor and and votive candles lining the the massive loft windows. The outside space was perfect for photos and breathtaking views of the sunset. And then once inside the NYC skyline is the chic and urban landscape of the party. I highly recommend this space for anyone who wants a low-stress, high reward event for a group between 50-90 people. This is not a great space for the traditional large round table sit down dinner festivities. We used cocktail tables and a buffet for a "cocktail party feel (with food)". I occasionally do catering. This is one of my fav spots. In fact, out of all the hot spots I had done parties at I picked this one for my retirement party! A nice spot with two terraces, a full kitchen and a dj both/ ipod docking station. You can bring in any caterer you wish. The folks at Ramscale can hook you up! They know everyone in NYC. So the story goes that the portion of the space that is used as an apartment has some history. It is told someone hung themself in the room no one uses. Other than that crazy rumor the place is in my top five spots in NYC. read more

What am amazing venue! The space itself is open, airy and unique with huge floor to ceiling windows and different "levels" all in one large room that makes the atmosphere and flow interesting and dynamic. It's really the kind of space that has so much of its own character, and at the same time allows for so much creativity in decor. The views from inside and the huge terrace are amazing - you can see from the statue of liberty all the way to the empire state building. Also, the staff there are so knowledgeable, flexible, and helpful - they helped us find all kinds of vendors from caterers to photographers. My husband and I got married at Ramscale in September of 2015. It was an absolutely perfect experience! I had seen Ramscale online and fell in love immediately. For a New York wedding you can't get any more ideal than an intimate yet not limiting indoor/outdoor space. Plus, we lived in the West Village and wanted to share our neighborhood with our friends and family. We almost didn't even go look thought because we were worried about the cost. However, we gave in and were even more convinced it was worth it based on George, the manager's, positive, calm manner. Ramscale was fair, responsive, willing to work with us, and it really is the most beautiful place! There was serious construction going on in the building that they promised would not be happening during our wedding and they stuck to their word. Visible scaffolding was down and we lucked out with their beautiful recent remodel! I can't believe someone used to live here! It's huge and amazing. We had to do our wedding inside because of rain and I was so devastated but it was great inside and people could enjoy the PERFECT balcony with views when it let up. I do think they need to include at least a little rehearsal time with the venue fee but it all worked out for us. And I can't forget to mention they had a wonderful employee, Sam, who basically acted as a wedding planner for me and was outstanding. If you can - hire her! Ramscale is a TRULY unique space that you can do so much with. Remember, it's a raw space. They are SO helpful but you will need to bring in all the necessities. We got married in August, 2010 and could not have asked for a better wedding venue than Ramscale. The loft itself is absolutely gorgeous, with clean design, white walls with interesting angles and breathtaking views from the many, many windows. The balcony is an added bonus and was able to fit our 110 wedding guests who came to see us get married outside. From the very first time we called to the multiple visits we made (between caterer visits, decoration scoping, etc), Carly was a pleasure to speak with and work with. She always had the best attitude, was so supportive and offered recommendations from everything from caterers to photographers to parking garages nearby. We ended up bringing in our own caterers and Carly sat with them and emailed with them multiple times to make sure all details were taken care of. On the actual day of the event, Carly was there to ensure that the day ran smoothly and went above and beyond in many, many ways that we'll be forever thankful for. Management was also quite supportive throughout the entire process and really worked with us to ensure for a successful night. I don't have enough good things to say about Ramscale and think that if you are lucky enough to plan or attend an event there, you will be very happy. read more

Beautiful place, I put down a deposit to rent it for my wedding. My fiancé called in to ask About the size of the rooftop so we can rent a tent; it is then that they disclosed that the rooftop would be under construction the date of our wedding. The owner agreed to return the deposit, but after weeks of following and different excuses; I placed a claim with my credit card and received the money back. it was a really disappointing experience but I was able to find a better place. read more

Had our wedding here at Ramscale this Fall and could not have been happier with the venue. We had ~100 people with a casual cocktail tables and sitting tables arrangement and it was perfect. Wonderful views of the city for the out-of-towners and a great overall ambiance for an intimate wedding. The nonprofit I work for, Global Children Cambodia, had a silent art auction fundraiser at this wonderful venue back in April. The space is really beautiful and has a lot of character. There was plenty of wall space to hang art which allowed us to really showcase each art piece (we had over 50 art items) and made our event look like an art gallery. The team at Ramscale was very accommodating and flexible and understood our needs as a nonprofit. Any questions/concerns we had were promptly answered. Everyone was very friendly, organized, and professional. Murray (the owner) and George were a pleasure to work with and helped out a lot with set up on the day of the event. Great space for a small wedding. (about 100 people). We had our son's wedding reception here. Beautiful outdoor terrace facing the Hudson River with a perfect sunset. Ladies, just watch your heels on the deck. They can get caught between the slats. Inside is modern and hip. Great view of the city and especially the Empire State Building. You can even select the art work to be displayed on the large white walls with the help of an art director from Ramscale's gallery. What a great personal touch! My kids loved that. Very unique and very NY. Everyone who attended loved the venue. read more

Wow! Incredible venue. The view here is absolutely amazing, plus roof top (mezzanine) access. The place is not huge but in all truth I prefer that as it keeps everyone a little cozy and really boosts the energy. Couldn't recommend this place higher. read more
