Easily the best dive bar around. Trust me, don't be intimidated by the look on the outside. Try it!

We have been going to The Whip for over 10 years now…read more THE #1 reason we keep going back is the staff. All of the staff make every meal a dining experience. The ambiance is great, especially in the warm weather, outside. The food is ALWAYS delicious, thanks to Dillon. Sarah and Tania are on top of their game behind the bar. Always scanning the bar while waiting for a pint to fill. Sheryl, Sam, Heather B and Lauren not only remember you name, but frequently what you ordered last visit. We tell all of our friends to go there. Frequently taking some with us. I think one word describes The Whip perfectly, FUN!!!

It is a tiny building but they are doing it right! There is complimentary valet parking which was great because I have no idea where we would have parked. We were seated at exactly 4:30, and our server was friendly and fast. RJ and I ordered Downeast Peach Mango Cider which was refreshing and delicious. We started with crab and artichoke dip and beef and weck eggrolls, and our table ordered 2 fish and chips, the "Luxury" seafood pie, shepherd's pie, and the beef on weck sandwich. My weck included onions, mushrooms, swiss, and bacon with a side of au jus and horseradish. Yum, what a salty, savory, spicy combo. The roast beef was very tender and juicy. The fish and chips were all enjoyed, as were both pies. We did not make it to dessert but will try that again another time. We were in and out in about 1 hour without being rushed at all. We will definitely return to the Whip!

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

Came here with friends on a weekend for dinner. Fairly quick seating for 4 people, 15 minutes!…read moreFriendly service. Cute outdoor seating area with space heaters much appreciated during the winter. I got the fish tacos which were fine but not amazing. I love fried cod fish in fish tacos and these tacos had grilled fish instead, so not my favorite from the start. Very strong flavors with the mango salsa and sauce, couldn't taste much else. I also had the Prickly Pear Margarita, which didn't taste of prickly pear at all (as a lover of prickly pear candy and jam), but was still good. They had plenty of cocktail and IPA beer options! The winners for food here were the stuffed mushrooms and truffle fries, both appetizers. My boyfriend's burger looked amazing too, it was a charcuterie burger special, so I'd recommend the burgers. Pretty good, above average spot. 3.5 stars from me. I'd try it out if you need a place with seating enough for friends on the weekend in Phoenixville.

This Sedona Taphouse was right downtown in the heart of a very fun area. We stopped in here for a delicious lunch on an October Sunday afternoon. I started out with a Baron Von Steuben beer which is brewed locally in West Chester. Then, we split the Devil's Pass Dip appetizer which was excellent! I then had a Caesar salad and a bowl of Clam Chowder. I loved the soup, it was thick and creamy with lots of clams. My wife had the Julie's Farmer salad and my stepson had the Southwest Steak Tacos. We all enjoyed the food. Plenty of seating here with TV's to watch sports. All in all, this was a good find in a fun town!
