Filled out finance app, and they never really did anything even though we were given approval. They kept asking for a deposit for " availability " sake...it's still for sale as we bought similar car much closer to us geographically. I filed a police report. A complaint with the attorney General in Ct and the Department of motor vehicles. Called Toyota HQ to complain. No satisfaction. It still aggravates me that after years of being a loyal customer, after purchasing 4 brand new vehicles there, after only bringing my car there for service they could be so negligent. Not caring to take responsibility for the damage they caused. I have to pay $1300 to have my bumper replaced. I blackened out their name under my license plates. And take heed. My young Daughter went into attempt to buy a first car and they told her the car wasn't gonna be ready for much longer than originally stated, and she had put a deposit. They absolutely refused to give it back. They would say somebody was gonna call you back rush you off the phone. My daughter called many times and so did I. we literally had to call the Better Business Bureau and then they sent the check back like six months later and tried saying it was sitting on their desk the whole time, even though we were calling a couple times a week after waiting a couple months. Felt forced to purchase GAP insurance. After refusing coverage was told it was not a choice and it was required to be approved by the lender. Also misled by Sales Rep. She said I still had a 36,000 mile warranty. The finance manager said there was no warranty left. Sales Rep was also very rude in her texts message. At first, I was very excited to buy my first ever car from a dealership after driving junk cars from Facebook marketplace. I purchased a used 2020 Toyota RAV4. Car looked beautiful and they approved me right away. Of course when you take a test drive, the car always seems perfect. After signing the contract and paying everything, I was only given one key fob for the car (which I didn't think too much of it) but then while I'm driving home, the wheel bearings were very loud so I knew they haven't been changed. There was this awful musty smell in the car that they claimed would be taken care of after I purchased the car but yet I still can't get the smell out, The steering wheel had a cover on it which I thought was nice but once I took it off, the steering wheel was completely worn/damaged from the previous owner. Not to mention, they charged me $80 for a cabin air filter that I didn't even ask for after saying it was "complimentary" I didn't think anything of these things seeing this is my first time at a dealership but now I'm stuck in an overpriced loan that cost 10k more than the actual car is worth. My husband and I recently bought a 2025 Rav 4 LE from Gale Toyota. Derrick was our product specialist. He was great in the beginning of our process of finding a 2025 Rav 4 LE. Our time at Gale Toyota was completely soured when we met with Ben Davis to sign the paperwork and hear about the different warranty plans. He belittled us and was extremely unprofessional. There has to be a better way to convince us to buy a warranty than being rude and disrespectful. He seemed to get rather upset when we said multiple times no thank you to the warranty upgrades, not once did we feel like he was on our side and rather he was actively against us. Comments like us having enough money to outright buy a new car but not buy an extra warranty, asking us why we care about the interior exterior but not the mechanicals (all with a rude tone and not actual curiosity). He didn't respect our budget or our time. Even commented about my  "long name" and said he only knew of Spanish people having names that long. When Ben called to let us know we still owed money, we said we needed time to look over the paperwork. His comment was that we were really good at counting our nickels and dimes and would see why we still owed them money. We were also told we could pick up the car Monday, March 31st as we had filled out all the new registration paperwork the Thursday prior. We weren't told until Monday at 3 that somehow we still owed $500. Why did no one contact us Friday or Saturday? And in fact, Ben waited until the last possible minute on Monday at 3PM to tell us when clearly he had figured out on Friday , when our registration paperwork was supposed to be sent off to the DMV, that we still owed money. We should've been contacted Friday as soon as he realized we owed $500. That was totally unacceptable. Derrick told us he would show us the inside of the car and all of its "bells and whistles" but when we arrived on Thursday, he said customers showed up right before us for a test drive. No thank you for coming to Gale Toyota, no handshakes goodbye, absolutely nothing. Seems like once everyone received our money, no one cared about us anymore. We both have large families and coworkers who love Toyota. We will be telling everyone NOT to go to Gale Toyota because of the horrible experience we had with Ben Davis and because Derrick did nothing to help us with the registration situation at all. We left feeling disrespected and our time was not valued at all. We're expecting our first child next month so we were so excited to buy our first Toyota vehicle that would be extra safe for our new little one and it's just a shame that we chose Gale Toyota. read more

I went back about two months later for an oil change and regular service and they told me I needed new back brakes. They never did the back brakes. no comment, apology etc when I picked up my car. I am very very grateful for her hard work in finding me my RAV4 Prime in Metallic Grey/black with my silly extended moon roof for my child. Another person there Maryln Ortiz did all the paperwork with my accountant and made it happen. The reason for four stars instead of five is because of the lady who tried to sell me the gold/copper whatever plan. I hate the good cop bad cop thing but seriously. You get the sales people telling you good things about the SUV then as soon as you buy it you get these gold plan people telling you it will die on you. Also she got really annoyed that I did not give a rat's ass about her silly gold plan and I'll tell you like I told her. Logic is her enemy. Ok, I researched the crap out of suvs before I decided on one. So I know the odds of the electrical system dying on me and that is why I was not at VW. So the woman says her plan gives you piece of mind. It does not, the vehicle does. She tells you that her papers will stop you from worrying. It won't the safety test do. So if you are interested in what she is selling I would get a different vehicle from another manufacturer. Honestly that's all her talk makes me want to do. Very very very long story short, my wife got an awesome car from them for more than it's worth but it works. Had lots of issue and time wasted with this car and dealership. However they sold me a lemon. Cars been insured since August and I've driven it a combined total of 5 days. They have it again in the shop to fix it but apparently the jeep servicing they sent it to can't find out what's wrong. The car sputters and transmission stalls. I'm no mechanic and I know this. Anyway they're probably trying to save money by "not finding anything wrong." Connecticut lemon law sucks so I can't return the car or fight it. Love Gale! Purchased a RAV4 used from them a few years ago. Unfortunately some fool decided to total it about a year ago. I loved my RAV so when I was on the hunt for a new one the first place I looked was Gale. Unfortunately they didn't have inventory in my price range when I was looking. I made the mistake of using another dealer with dead fish handshakes and making me feel like I inconvenienced them. Gale is full of friendly faces, has a nice sitting space for customers when the car is getting serviced and is generally clean where customers interact. My only stupid gripe is that I feel like Gale has a very casual outlook on appearances across the board. I used to work in sales and call me old fashioned (I'm 26) but purchasing a car is a big deal! In any case, I guess as long as my car is in prime shape, I shouldn't care about who gives me a pen to sign. ;-) read more

Yes, there was a delay in actually getting the car onto the lot, but that's a supply-line issue. She walked us through every step of how things function on the car and got us connected to CarPlay. I was going to upgrade my Camry at Gale Toyota by trading in my used 2014 XLE with under 100000 miles. I had shopped around and gotten some written quotes on trade in value and prices on newer model, so I had those in hand when I went. I wanted to buy local and Gale at the model I wanted. I met with the Salesperson and test drove the vehicle. While I was doing that the sales manager was apprising my vehicle. The Car I was driving was great I was all set to purchase. The sells manager told me he would give me 3000 dollars for the trade in value. I had 2 quotes from other dealers in hand for 12400 and 11900. He knew this so he told me I should go there and buy the vehicle if they were going to give me that much. No other reason for his low evaluation. Even my salesperson was shocked. WOW!!! However I discovered this was not completed after getting it home. I also soon after had the light come on for the oil change because they hadn't reset the service light. Fiancee and I both bought our cars from Gale about 3 years ago. No problems with either vehicle, both used though fairly new. I, on a whim, took my Scion to the Jiffy Lube close to my home for a quick muffler replacement. My pipe snapped right behind the muffler. Long story short, Jiffy Lube screwed it all up. Leaving me to now go to Gale to remove the new problem muffler and replace it with an OEM muffler. Gale took my car in almost immediately. Got the right part and fixed it correctly. I had to pick it up after the service department was closed. No issue, I was able to pay at the sales desk. Scott, from service, even called me the day after I picked up my car to see if I needed the old muffler for a Jiffy Lube refund. I realize that things like this are hard to do when you have a ton of customers. But, it's little things like this that make you feel like a business actually cares about their customers. read more

In October of last year, I brought my 2010 Tacoma in for a frame inspection under an extended service agreement where severely rusted frames on tacomas would be replaced. The mechanic put my Tacoma onto the lift and brought me to it to show his inspection of the frame. While we were under the truck he took a hammer and hit the frame in a couple of spots and said this is a solid frame as pieces of the rusted out frame fell down around us. I even peeled away chunks of the frame with my fingers as I pleaded my case for gale toyota to send a request to replace it under the service agreement but to no avail. Fast forward to a little over a year later and I'm able to stick my fingers through this rotted out frame! So I decided to call back and ask them to inspect it again and that's when I found out from the service manager that the service agreement ended a few months ago and that They can't or won't do anything about it. So here I sit looking out my window at my only means of transportation that is now worthless due to a rotted frame. Toyota had a reputation of making reliable long lasting cars and with that a loyal customer base but that reputation is rotting away faster than their frames smh read more

Wish we could leave ZERO or negative stars. This place is SUPER SHIFTY! We called about a vehicle, left a deposit over the phone, drove up the same morning to test drive the car. We negotiated a price and needed to register it out of state. The sales manager, Justin, was working on the process for us while we went to have some lunch. Our salesman, Jon, contacted us that they couldn't register it out of state for us but would help us by discounting us a portion of the tax. We said we would think about it because we still had the deposit down on the vehicle. That evening, we chatted with customer service and they came down on the price a bit more. She was going to check on getting the tires balanced and assured us we would get a text back when we could pick it up. We never heard back that night. A family member has my old 2007 Camry and it's still in great shape with well over 100, 000 miles. The service Dept. is great and have always been able to help me out in a pinch with problems and make available a car for the day if I had to leave mine. Usually pretty decent experience with recalls. Yet latest experience was extremely poor. Specifically a dead battery when my wife came to pickup our vehicle that had a recall completed the day before by Gale Toyota. (This is a 2012 vehicle with regular maintenance done to it that had no problem starting in colder weather leading up to recall). instead of addressing issue they simply gave my wife a jump and sent her on her way. Sure enough at next stop at costco - car would not start. Initial service rep I spoke to after hearing about the initial jump told me that "we put car into accessory mode during the recall, combined with cold night could have caused issue" - When calling back after hearing that car doesnt start anymore - and asking them to send someone (my wife was closeby at costco) - to at least give her a jump again - was told they cant send anyone, after escalating to sales manager (service manager was out) was fed a bunch of excuses of how this is not their fault and "your wife could have left the lights on while shopping ". At this point naturally I got a little upset - and told them that I would prefer to have them do the right thing - yet if they do not we will get a tow ourselves and then they will receive a demand letter from attorney to reimburse us. To which the sales manager acted extremely unprofessionally, getting disrespectful, as well as stating that he wont let anyone threaten him, how conversation was over etc. Finally after he calmed down when I asked him how it would make him feel if this happened to his wife - he said they would try to help and he would call me back which he did after a few minutes - (in the meantime my wife was able to get a jump from costco tire service) as I was attempting to tell the sales manager on his return call that i appreciate him trying to turn this around and do the right thing - he rudely interrupted me, accused me of mistreating his employees (claiming he listened to their "tapes") - and proceeded to tell me to find another dealership to work with. Amazing how they think that it is a good idea to 1) send my wife on her way with just a jump in 15 degree weather 2) to think that customer service is "man handling" your customers and try to assert some type of superiority (instead of de-escalating a clearly upset husband that has his wife stranded with a dead battery after Gale Toyota performed a recall) 3) to conclude all of this by adding insult to injury when I was about to complement them on attempting to do the right thing - to imply they do not want customers such as us at their dealership. Wow. No worries Gale Toyota - we hear you loud and clear - we will take our business to Balise Toyota who from what we hear understands customer service - and will get our car purchases in the future as well as friends and family referrals. #FailedCustomerService read more
