I liked everything, but the hummus was the star of the show. It was really tasty to dip the French fries into. The beef was tender and the fries were hot. My only constructive feedback is that it was a little quiet in there, so some background music wouldn't hurt. Our waitress was quite nice and helpful. My stick didn't even have any cheese! The meals were equally unremarkable. My nephew said his meatballs were terrible (he only ate one as a result). We were a party of 8 so I won't bother to discuss each dinner. But in general, not good. The best thing we all ate was the olive oil and seasonings for the bread which wasn't bad! In fact, it was delicious! The cocktails every one had were ok and we got a bottle of Chianti that was great! They had a very decent wine list. Our server was very good except he said the calamari was "lightly breaded" which encouraged me to order two for the table! Plus he said the mozzarella sticks were on special that night and yet they too were terrible. Ordering both of them was a huge mistake! We were all starving after having been on the road for hours! In town for a wedding. If we were locals, we would never eat there again! I've been to a lot of Italian restaurants and this was quite possibly the worst one ever! Although the place was busy, and had a piano player for entertainment, (which could have been a positive), the lack of quality of the food was a big letdown.

We had the "house tray" intended for 2 or 3. I found the portions of beef and chicken shawarma to be on the small side. The kafta, on the other hand was quite generous. Rice portion was very generous in size. Flavors were very good and very authentic. Service was much slower than expected. The restaurant was not busy, yet we waited for food. A drink order was missed and check-ins by our server were very infrequent. We happened to choose the restaurant because they were having an advertised e-mail holiday special giving 15% off of the house tray. The server was unable to process this discount as her Mgr was not in. Our server did comp our cocktails which was above the price of the discount (for both the missed drink order as well as the discount issue). The issue of not being able to process an advertised discount was experienced by our daughter a few weeks ago. Very disconcerting trend. Ambiance was nice except overall room temp was very (nearing uncomfortable) warm. Rugs in the divan could stand to be cleaned. Overall, we will return. But this step downward has me very concerned.
