I encourage you to walk around, check the place out and see how clean it is yourself, and not just from the parents viewing area. Walk around the uneven bars, the foam pits, balance beams, ect. When I was there, the place was Appalling. It looked like they hadn't cleaned in months. It was downright Disgusting. read more

My daughter has been crying Ming here for many years and the gym keeps getting better and better. I felt motivated to write a review after attending open gym and seeing coach Stephanie interact with several girls including mine with an iPad to show a new skill and working with each girl to try and master it. Also love the addition of air conditioning the last couple of years. read more

AGAIN? Are ya SURE ?!?!?! .......... YUP! SEVEN YEARS in a row and my child wants her next birthday at the fabulous Galaxy Gymnastics!!! No joke, in 2010 my girl's 4th birthday party was such an amazing success, that she's been asking for ALL birthdays to be there, ever since. We even tried to talk her out of it once.......she was adamant and she was right - why mess with something that works SO well?! BUT - get this - last summer we moved to San Diego and thought "well - that's the end of an era - we'll have to rethink birthdays". But NO. My girl asked if she can keep the tradition alive and have her 10th (MILESTONE) Birthday back in Redding and ONLY if it can be at Galaxy. Needless to say, as always, it was super fun and easy. There has never been disappointing party there - every kid has a blast at these parties. Over these many years, we've lost count of how many of our little friends started lessons @ Galaxy at the Beginner level. With perseverance and the guidance of the loving coaches, many of these kids have earned their way to competing at high levels up and down the state!!! And, let-me-tell-you... they're rocking it, too!!! We may have moved away - but our hearts will always belong in Galaxy. Guess where birthday 11 will be.... YUP! read more

Horrible owner as she kicked kids out of her gym for no Fault if there own. She does not care about kids. Be careful. She also records everything as she wants to know everything parents are doing while watching there kids. She wants to make sure parents are not talking to each other. It's so sad of a place for kids. read more

This place is extremely unprofessional! Do not book a birthday party with Galaxy Gymnastics! We had scheduled a birthday party for my daughter and when we arrived the party and guest room wreaked like mold and mildew. The owner agreed to refund our deposit, however she never did. After three weeks had passed I called to discuss the situation with her again, and she pretended that the owner was not there (when if fact she answered the phone). Worst experience ever since we had family who traveled five hours for the party. I do not recommend this business whatsoever. read more

My child did gymnastics here for about 8-9 years and she said it was absolutely awful. I agree with my child the building is unkept the owner acts like a complete teenager that doesn't care about the kids at all, and just cares for the money. The building is disgusting and it looks like they haven't cleaned it in over 5 years. My child loved the coached though they were so kind and very helpful, but when the owner would take over classes the children hated it because she made them dreadful. After my child quit gymnastics at this place she had awful feet injuries. I wish i had taken my child to a different place all those years. We put so much time and money into this place thinking my child would enjoy but it was all a waste. If I had the option to give this place zero stars i would. I should've just taken my child to do taekwondo with her brother instead of going to this awful place. He learned more at taekwondo then she every learned at gymnastics. I would not recommend taking your child to this awful place unless you wnat them to have bad mental health. read more

I've seen the negative reviews, and I can't comment on the boys team since that never came up for us. I CAN say that both of my children have been here 2 years and absolutely love both the coaches and the owner. We've never been treated poorly here and my kiddos love the coaches who have always treated them with kindness. Yes it can be hot in summer, but I've noticed a lot of great changes the owner has been making, and a little sweat won't keep us from going. It appears that the owner of this gym doesn't approve of having a strong boys program over shadowing the girls program.This is the 2nd time in a few years that she( the owner) has fired the boys coach, forcing all of the members of the boys team to go to a different gym!!! In the middle of the season---really???? There appears to be a lot of politics at Galaxy-----I have heard of girls leaving and driving back and forth to Oroville, which has a great program. This gym is garbage, worn out equipment, hot as heck in the summer, cold as can be in the winter.... if you like sitting on rock hard bleachers staring at ripped carpet with duck tape on it and dated equipment then this is the gym for you. read more

So my 5 year old preschooler had a field trip at this gym today (paid for in advance)...unfortunately, no one from the gym showed up. Thank you Galaxy for the weeping preschooler. She has been talking about this trip for a week...looks like we will be looking elsewhere for our gymnastics lessons. I suggest everyone look elsewhere as well. read more

WARNING.... Do not take your children here. The lady who owns this gym will turn on you in an instant. She let's you sweat to death in the summer, it is so hot that a coach for my daughters rec class fainted last summer. Witnessed by myself and other moms who caught her at the water fountain as she went down. In the winter it's like an ice box. But if you turn on the heat you will catch her wrath. She doesn't care because she hardly ever showed her face until recently. She didn't have to, she watched everything on video cameras she has placed throughout the gym. Mind you they are covered in dust. The foam pit is nasty, the carpets and floors look like they are never cleaned. At my daughters bday party they say they will have a staff member with organized activities. What? The two staff members stood there and not once interacted with a kid. NOT ONCE. The staff turn over is extremely high. The girls team members have come and gone come and gone from this place. The boys team has been given the boot in the middle of competition season for the second time in a few years, different coaches but some of the same kids have had to endure this twice now. I would never step foot in this building again. And I recommend you don't either. Even if she makes it look promising with all the new improvements.... new improvements doesn't make the owner a kinder person. Stay away!!! read more

Over all this is a awesome place great friendly staff! Great with kids! Very positive and motivating and I see my own child advancing in gymnastics very quickly. My only reasoning got not giving the full 5 stars is there is not a very good cooling system got the summer time which most of the local places in this area only have swamp coolers as well as being in a metal building which maintains a lot of heat. Worn down, outdated, dirty, no heat or air conditioning, mentally unstable owner who kicked the boys comp team our of her gym TWICE for no apparent reason. The latest boot out was DURING their comp season. Who does that? Poor boys are heartbroken! She lacked the professionalism to talk to the team/parents in person but sent an EMAIL saying they were no longer welcome at the gym. I know many gymnasts who left Galaxy and Drive to Oroville to train. I took my girls out of that decrepit gym years ago and am so glad I did. Very sad. Choose another gym. Very disappointing!!! My nephew has been training here for years. They were the only boys gymnastics location in Redding and the owner shattered my nephew's dreams and has left him devastated by cancelling the boys program in the middle of the competition season!! I've personally visited this gym while visiting my nephews and it is completely filthy and not well kept. Children are forced to practice in cold horrible conditions in hoodies and sweat suits as the owner is too cheap to let the coaches turn on the heater during the winter months, leading to more injuries as they are unable to keep muscles warm. The owner does not have the best interest of the children in mind whatsoever. If I was able to give ZERO stars I would. Shame on Galaxy Gymnastics!! read more

I would NEVER recommend Galaxy to anyone! The owner of this gym is not in the business of helping children grow and prosper. My son was on the Boys team for 2 years and halfway through our season the entire boys team was asked to leave. She completely devastated all of the boys who have worked 4-5x/week some of them practice 4hrs/day. The gym was not allowed to have the heat on even during the couple days of snow we had. I picked my son up at 7:00 pm and the whole team including the coach was wearing a hoodie because it was freezing. In addtion, the very young children have no consistency in their coaches as she has a hard time getting along with people and has an incredible amount of turnover. The building is completely filthy and some of the equipment in the building is completely dangerous as it is in such poor shape. read more

My kids started going to Galaxy in February and love it! The coaches are very good at helping my rambunctious boys follow directions and learn gymnastics moves very safely. My 12-year old special needs daughter has progressed more quickly here than she did in an entire year at a competing gymnastics place. I'm very happy here! read more

First, let me start by saying that if I could give zero stars I would. This gymnasium and its owner do not have children's best interests in mind. Not to mention the facility lacks cleanliness & well maintained equipment. As everyone knows safety comes first in this sport. As far the owner, well needless to say, she does not have any respect for the coaches, families, or gymnasts. My nephew had been training here for years and thanks to the wonderful coaching has come a long way, putting in hours & hours of practicing, competing, and doing extremely well. He absolutely loves everything about gymnastics. My youngest nephew was counting the days until he'd be able to begin training. Dreams crushed! All of this taken away in the blink of an eye in the middle of the season due to the owner feeling the need to fire and get rid of the boy's gymnastics coach & team. Why? Who knows! And it's not the first time this has happened. No consideration for the boys, their coaches, and the families who dedicated themselves for years to this gym. ZERO STARS read more
