Instead, I was not contacted until approximately a month after construction was supposed to have started. This delay ultimately forced me to find a new builder and significantly disrupted our plans. The lack of communication was particularly concerning. Important information was communicated to my loan officer before it was communicated to me, even though I was the client directly affected by the situation. As a homeowner making one of the largest financial decisions of my life, I expected direct, timely, and transparent communication. Because the contract was not fulfilled as promised, I had to secure a new builder and continue paying rent for a longer period while the project was delayed. This resulted in substantial additional expenses and unnecessary stress. Adding to my frustration, once construction moved forward with a different builder, we discovered that the original bid was not an accurate reflection of the true building costs. The final costs were significantly higher, indicating that the original estimate did not include realistic or up-to-date pricing information. This raised concerns about the accuracy and completeness of the initial proposal. Overall, the delays, poor communication, failure to meet contractual obligations, additional rental expenses, and increased construction costs created a very negative experience.
