Mark Mattson upgraded our fireplace mantle and it's beautiful and everything I wanted. Not seen in the pic, but there is a top hidden compartment for a power strip so lights and decoration can be plugged in, plus a side drawer to hide lighters and matches. They did such a great job with the board and batten statement wall. My design was from an online interior decorating platform. Mark planned out the design and even noticed some mistakes that the interior decorator had made. He was able to correct them for a great finished product. I absolutely love it. Mark did an excellent job helping me with my "She Shed" project.....I contacted NUMEROUS contractors and none of them would return a call or email. After months of searching through thumbtack and various platforms, I found Matt on Yelp. He was quick to respond and courteous throughout the entire process....we even changed the scope on him a couple of times (yes we paid for the changes) and he was happy to oblige. So often contractors are not flexible or willing to take on additional projects or tasks.....Matt installed shiplap on all 4 walls of our cabin, he also built an entire loft bed platform for us and painted everything when he was finished! This is an update to my first review. Mark Mattson reached out to me and we scheduled a time (May 10th) for him to pick up my dining room table for refinishing. I also requested he put me in line with the rest of his customers and I'd be happy. When he picked up the table I would have sworn he said due to his existing work load it would be about a month before the table would be finished. I was OK with this as well since the table had been in dire need of refinishing for ~20 years and I didn't think a few more weeks would make that big a difference. :) So imagine my surprise when Mark called me this morning while I was out running errands to say my table was finished and he could drop it off today. When he arrived the finished product was like new. I have pictures from when the table was new so it is easy to compare. :) He did such an outstanding job he took with him the next piece of furniture needing refinished. Mark came by and had impeccable customer service skills and professionalism. He put a lot of care into the work he completed to provide a quality product. He was patient with all my questions and remained engaged through the entire process - from buying supplies, talking through the process, showing us .. etc. When i had almost given up on my office vision, he came to my rescue! He literally built an end to end (long wall to wall) custom floating desk for me! It was important to me that it was sleek yet could withstand a lot of weight. I also needed it on a low slanted wall (I mean practical and pretty are a rare combo, am I right?). It took longer than originally quoted, for us that wasn't a concern and he was so apologetic but we really didn't mind - we felt bad cause it was over the weekend. We were so impressed with the final outcome and constant communication. The desk was wrapped in white vinyl, it's so pretty- I spill coffee, soil, and craft stuff on it daily and no stains! It holds two computers, tons of craft supplies, an extra monitor and a ton of plants and doesn't budge. I've been waiting to add this review cause I wanted to share a pic of the desk once I was finished with the office - but we've ran into some snags ordering pieces for the rest of the office with covid. I called Mark when the support beam on my wooden daybed was splitting and he answered immediately. I sent him over pictures and measurements of the beam and was able to set an appointment to get a new one made immediately. Mark is a miracle worker! The center support beam of my (expensive) bed frame from a large national chain snapped in half as I was sleeping, leaving me with a bed that was unusable. Using glue, support wood, and a bit of magic on his part, Mark was able to repair the problem so that the beam is back where it needs to be and stronger than when I bought it several years ago. The old table had been in his family for generations, and what it lacked in overall aesthetics, it made up for in emotional significance. My sofa and loveseat were horribly damaged in my move from Hawaii. The military required a quote for repair before they would reimburse me even though it would've been cheeper to replace them. So I was pretty much just using mark for the quote knowing I would not have him repair them. But I feel as though he treated me like any other customer, like I was going to spend $3k with him. We are renovating our master bathroom. As part of the renovation, we added a pocket door. The lock I picked out, unknowingly to me, had a tricky mortise cut-out to fit in the pocket door. Our contractor performing the job was hesitant to do the work, fearful he would ruin the door. We took the door to Mark; he fit us into his scheduled work quickly and excellently completed the work.
